  • From "The Five Love Languages", today we explore quality time. Keyword is QUALITY, not quantity. The Five Love Languages are often misunderstood. If you or your partner feel loved when quality time is spent, then there are certain ways to give this!
Firstly, it's not about the activity itself nor the amount of time it takes. A couple could spend 3 hours together at a movie and have low quality time, or 15 minutes having a cup of coffee together and having high quality time!
The key elements that make a time "quality" lie within the amount of connection being experienced. Here's how to add connection to any activity and make it quality time!
    1. Eye contact
    2. Give your full presence, no distractions
    3. Mutuality...you both wholeheartedly want to be there together doing the activity
    4. Being attentive to your partner in that time space.
Leave a comment! We want to know what are some ways you experienced quality time! And be sure to give us a follow on IG as well.

Great talk you two!! It's been my observation and experience that a couple's love language is linked to their overall compatibility. I say this as a divorced man, and now remarried to a lovely woman. As a pair, we are a great match!! Quality time includes weekly dates, movies, couples' trips, reading together in bed, and even watching football and basketball!!

@@loveheartbreakhope Thanks for that - much appreciated!! It's great to see the strong bond between the two of you. The bloopers though...it's not as easy as it looks.

You two have such a great connection. Inspiring! Thanks for clarifying this topic.
How do I bring up the lack of quality time? And how do I mentally deal with my partner taking steps to spend more quality time? I feel that if I have to ask for it, then she’s just doing it because I asked for it. And yes, that’s what I want, but the thought that she doesn’t just want to do it annoys me.

Bill, this is a fantastic question..I know exaxtly how you I feel as I have wrestled with that belief of "i want you to WANT to do it without me asking". I've also heard this from other couples I've worked with when they are wanting to express a need. The bottom line is, when you ask or express a need for more time, it makes us feel vulnerable. But it gives your person an opportunity to step into that need. If she spends more time with you after you express that desire, then see it as an offering of love. Its ok if she doesnt have the same need, or desire the same amount of time....thats probably not her love language. What's important is if she is willing to give you more time after you express you desire it! Giving you that gift in and of itself demonstrates her love, and you just have to receive it and thank her for making efforts to meet your needs. ❤️

@@loveheartbreakhope I read your reply yesterday, but I had to let it sink in. Okay, I have chosen to work with that. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Blessings to you and your partner!
