I’m in southeastern Kentucky, the smoke was terrible today, you could taste it! I’ll be glad when our weather patterns start coming from the southwest again like they normally do.
That is a beast of a mower! I can see why you need to store many of your implements outside. It’s great to see your property transforming to benefit wildlife. 🎉
The smoke is not any better here in Northern Ontario. Enjoy. You are right, the chain guard is an essential part of the equipment. I have always overlapped by about one foot for exactly the reasons you mentioned.
Mowing is one task where a Ventrac truly shines. The only thing touching before the blades are the gauge wheels. That looks like a very well built mower. Nice to see quality USA products are still being made!
Europe has a 3pt hitch much more common on the front of tractors with similar implements like the ventrac. I think John Deere is finally bringing the. Over on the newer 2023's+
I prefer $10k Iron10' pull type's ability to change cuttg hgt on the fly - permits preview of deep unknown field with 12-inch fast first fast pass then 2nd pass lower when a bit more is known. Beyond that, $17k Rhino10 bat with narrow profile makes for easy 6' gate pasture access & better road profile. And, those bat blades are much easier (& safer) to grind in the vertical. The $7k delta was well worth it to me. Thank you again for your excellent vids. God bless. TFS
I have run a 15 foot flex wing 3 spindle on my 55 hp tractor before and it handled it just fine on pastures. I wouldnt try it with heavy brush but it makes field mowing a lot quicker.
I agree with your own comments on why you go over some of the cuttings. I don't think any of the spinning rods type mowers (this one or flail) cut grasses as well as spinning blades (brush hogs). The blades are like a regular lawn mower in as much as the blades create a lift to the grasses and cut them off more evenly. And you're right, a person with an acre or two doesn't need anything like this cutter. I feel something this urge would be for someone in business that does noting but cut fields all day long would want this. But it would certainly be a money maker in that context. Keep up the good stuff and I can''t wait to see drone photos of your food plots. Should be interesting.
Thanks for explaining that the tires were leaving those two lines oc grass from under the mower. I was like how is it not cutting that grass. Feel like a 8-10 flail would be faster cleaner. Obviously many use large or multiple bladed bush hog for this. Nice video. I have their 60 in landscape rake. Very nice.
Sold a ts 100 cab new Holland had 2 8 foot extreme duty tiger flail mowers , side one was hydro, back pto , would mow down anything, but the dam tractor had to b “ split “ cracked bell housing etc , bad shifter on and on , sold it for almost nothing, maybe 700 hours on the clock , but would cost a fortune to fix , guy I sold it to fixed it him self ( had mechanic s ) so he’s got a 150 grand set up for a few grand !
What would you think if a PTO driven brush hog I live in a very rule area and with the severe storms I'm thinking seriously about getting a PTO driven generator for my house in my garage
I made the mistake of buying a package deal tractor/mower combo only to find that the mower was made in communist China. It's distributed by Tar River in North Carolina. I'm 100% sure the people in NC would love to have the job of building that pull behind finish mower. Next time, I'll be much more careful and check where things are made. I don't mind buying foreign made goods from free countries, but it sickens me that people are still using the communists as the worlds factory.
Enjoyed your video very impressive mower, I'll consider one of them when it comes time, Growing Deer TV is a good one too for no-till no fertilizer foot plotting

Haha, yeah I'd run out of room pretty quick! Thanks for watching :)

Hey, I appreciate it. Glad to hear I'm not alone on my train of thought :)

Ventrac shines on steep hills too!
@@GoodWorksTractors especially with a dually setup on each corner.

Great video! Glad to see that beast finally in action!
Man I think you do a great job with these videos. Thank you

Mower looks awesome. Smoke is very bad here in Central Virginia this morning.

In Georgia as well. Thanks 🇨🇦
Thanks for watching, pretty crazy
We have that smoke in Nashville also
Wow, crazy it's pushed down so far
Excellent information

I always overlap when cutting grass. I hate having to go back to recut. I mean who has time for that? Not me.
Curious did they make the Kodiak branded mowers also? Looks identical.
I don't know about that, but will say that Ironcraft is an actual manufacturer. However, white label/private label is fairlly common on the ag world.
I'm waiting for someone to invent a mower for front-end loaders. 🤣

Both attachments will be available, just need to size them to fit your machine and needs (generator size for the house).

Sometimes you just can't avoid our global economy. But we've had our own frustrations with Tar River: th-cam.com/video/2-vAP4JSHTw/w-d-xo.html
Amen on your comment. Greed has sacrificed priorities and morality causing this country to bow down to communism.

It's all the way here in North Carolina
Awesome video. You should video some of your hunts this year. That would be super cool.
Im looking to buy a tractor I need an unbiased opinion. M5-111 or MF4710
do you recommend a 4 or 3 bottom plow for this tractor? 4 would be nice if possible
That depends on your soil and on the plow. It might handle 4 14" bottoms but not 4 18" bottoms
Technically you are inside something!
It looks like it's missing a lot of grass. We're blades dull? Or just from the tractor tire tracks?
I talked about this in the video. Its from the tire tracks. That's very typical with brush hogging.
Kool.

Sorry about that, should be working now: www.goodworkstractors.com/product/ironcraft-1800-series-heavy-duty-brush-hog/

The music is quite a bit louder than your voice in this one.
I think you're off on the 3pt lift. My 37 hp pto tractor can lift over 3000 lbs on the 3 pt.
Just my thoughts don't make it so.
