Great video thanks you are the best Plumbing TH-camr IMHO there is a mix of commercial and domestic which makes it interesting a lot of the other TH-camrs just do house bashing plumbing which has been done to death on TH-cam.
Them toilet jobs are when the quote “fuk my life😤” just appears 😂 When the plate rusts that much Tom and cross threads the plastic 😡 it’s not pleasant!! Although I think that one was tightened by Arnold 😂 top job as always bud, I’m so glad the channels doing well for Tom because there’s no fakery just genuine work 👌🏼

That cylinder looked well dodgy Tom, you need to be flexible to get into those tight places so well done as always, and aren’t wc repairs a pain, starts with one thing end up being two or three things to replace. Hope you have a good weekend 👍🚽

Had to change the donut washer on my 35 year old Armitage Shanks close coupled w/c, as a chippie it took me most of the day, a real struggle, the before looked as gruesome as yours, but hey ho sorted it out with new parts and as good as new now, great video Tom, wish I had seen it before hand to see even the best struggle at times and now makes me feel a little better, at the time the air was blue

They are normally alright when the bolts are on the plate like thos one, if the bolts go through the cistern and the pan, they can be really hard to get off if the bolts are rusted, thanks for watching as always, have a great weekend 👍

You're like me Tom , you dont mind getting stuck in ! Unlike that newbie guy on you tube who is more interested in showing off all his latest fancy tools. We didn't have half the amount of tools when i started 40 odd years ago , but we still managed to get the job done.
There are some tools that do make the job easier but there are also a lot of gimmicks on the market now. You can't beat the old ways most of the time, thanks for watching 👍

I haven't used the Mcapline plates yet on a job, I have tried a display one and the nuts do go on really easy, the treads at the start of kind of tapered so it kind of starts itself, they don't make a 2" one though so it will only fit certain toilets, thanks for watching as always

Immersion manufacturers usually state that sealants like boss white shouldn't be used, partly for that reason but mainly because it can damage the washer. I usually just put about 5 turns of ptfe tape to help the next guy but that's all. That said, on corroded flanges on old cylinders, a bit of boss white/jet blue can't do any harm.
I like to jet blue mine, I think it was me who fitted that last time about 4 years ago, they do seem to come out Ok especially on the older cylinders with the raised bosses. The newer ones are recessed more into the cylinder and they are more awkward, thanks for watching 👍
That immersion job could have been worse , when you unscrew it and pull it up only to find it hits the roof before you can get it out. That Macdee flush valve, that's a fluidmaster, so who's copied who ?? 😯
It could have been a lot worse, I find it's normally the hot outlet it collides with as some muppet has run it straight across the top, I guess macdee has copied fluidmaster, they may even be made in the same factory , thanks for watching as always mate

I find if you are replacing the syphon its much quicker to use the multi saw and cut the nut
