AI Generated Images! Great for Memes, amazing for research, but is it viable for Game Development? I’m not talking about one-off novelty projects or generating the occasional rock texture. I mean can we generate every single piece of art in a game using one of these tools? Can this tool become our team artist? This is the question my friend Jared and I wanted to get to the bottom of because frankly, our art is questionable at best. Instead of inventing a new project or completely recreating an existing game, we decided to just remake one iconic level. And better what level to do then Super Mario Bros level 1-1, possibly the most famous level in video game history.
Join us as we experiment with an AI who seems bent on giving us more nightmare fuel then usable game art!

That ending didn't age well lol, AI is improving so much so quickly that using a current image AI with the right prompts would probably look *a lot* better and be way less cursed, and with AI generated music because I thought I heard that those are advancing a lot too
Thanks for the comment! AI has definitely improved a lot since I made that video. I'm planning on doing a part 3 to explore some of the other AIs people have recommended. That being said, I still stand by my original conclusions. AI generated images are technically impressive but cannot replace the heart and soul a human artist can put into a work. I'm happy to admit if I'm wrong on that, but I just don't see it yet. Do you have any recommendations for an AI music generator?

@@BunchOfNerdsMakingGames Stable Horde is essentially just a huge image generator, with like the 'horde' in its name means, IT'S GOT SO MANY AI GENERATORS IN THE MACHINE FOR YOU TO PICK

I clicked on this after seeing it on the home page's recommended stuff as it seemed like an interesting idea, what I immediately saw was the view and subscriber count (which would usually make me click off) but what kept me hear was your editing skills and how comfortable you seemed talking to the audience. i love your editing, but your microphone sounds like someone screaming into a microphone from 1992 while covering it with a pillow as both the person screaming and the microphone are being ran over by a semi truck, all of that happening inside of a box that is being hit with a sledgehammer 13 times per second
Haha that is the funniest description of my microphone I've ever heard! Thankfully in my newer videos I use a different microphone that sounds a bit better (hit only 1 time per second with a sledgehammer rather then 13)

Craiyon is pretty outdated and bad these days so there are better AI generators like DALL-E 2, mid journey AI, stable diffusion, etc
Thanks for the suggestion! My friend and I are looking into Dall-E2 and Mid Journey if we do a part 3. Craiyon is nice simply because it was free (and was hilarious to use for some prompts). It's not in this video but I got light headed laughing so hard at some of the bowser images we generated.

Yeah, a lot of people have recommended Dall-E2 and Mid Journey. I'm trying to make a part 3 with my friend, we just need to find the time to do it. Craiyon's AI Model at least gave me some really good laughs, so that's a plus!
