If you’re gonna play at the top in high pressure situations, things like that should not affect you. I’ve seen guys nail tough kicks in a chorus of boos, no excuses
This is my main complaint against how such petty mistakes are punished with a cost of 3 points. These cost games which do not usually reflect upon the fairness of the game. People and players want to see attractive free flowing hand to hand ball play, not repeatedly wait for someone to spend time teeing up a ball in the hope that they may kick it in the right direction, at the right height.
I wait for the day Leinster scoring a try from toulouse no.9 throwing the ball in his own players face which bounces into dan sheehans hand, 2023 heineken semi-final
The thinking was that the higher the level of competition, the more costly the mistake so anything above European Challenge Cup level is considered more costly e.g a mistake in a World Cup final is more costly than a mistake in a URC final

Yup. 1/2 point penalties would be more suited. Or 3 points if beyond the 10m line.

What was the issue with the aussie one where he went to kick it and then it was given as a scrum?
The referee said the kicker took too long to kick the ball so the scrum was given to NZ for time wasting
