Now converting that to % would be 1/8×100= 12.5% Took me a minute to realise it's the same as 3 coin toss, heads/tails example. If you know that, this calculation is super easy.

Would tetra- be a valid answer for 4, or would that be mixing prefix languages (uni/bi/tri/quad vs mono/di/tri/tetra)? Also, India has a higher population than China now.
