Working hard on this one currently. Struggling a little with transition between level 3 and 4. Just the timing. Everything else is coming along nicely. Definitely the most fun piece I've ever learned.

I cannot tell you how much pleasure I have got from TRYING to learn to play this very cool, funky tune. I finally learnt to play all the notes; I just need to get it up to speed - JUST:):) . I had planned to do a video of me "playing" it, as requested. For a long time it was a fairly hopeless dream but I think it's beginning to approach the stage where it may be entertaining - at least from a comedic point of view.

As announced on the last comment, I DID practise all day long and now it's night and I'm on level 3, in a quite acceptable tempo. It's crazy now to watch the full song played by you in the beginning. I really understand the first 3 levels now! I even play them! When i first watched the video, I thought it would take ages until I would barely understand the riffs! You're awesome, you explain so well.

Just wanted to say another big THANK YOU Jonathan, I am enjoying the learning/improving (hopefully:)) experience sooo much. Just got the first half of the Interlude up to 80bpm. Having to force myself to practise the earlier levels at a slower tempo than I want as I was finding that I was sacrificing accuracy for speed. This has been slightly frustrating, especially as my progress has slowed as the levels have increased.
Another great plus has been the pleasure of starting to feel I'm getting some degree of control over my fingers; hard to describe.
Thanks again, I am loving it, so appreciate all the thoughtful effort you put into it!

  • @MrMargaretScratcher

Hopped back onto this one recently - accordsing to my last comment here, 8 months ago I could *almost* play level 2, now can work my way through the boss level at very slow (but not so steady, working without the metronome for now) pace. Funny, a few days ago the interlude seemed absolutely impossible, now when I'm playing through the boss level I'm pleased when it comes around again, and i can play "the easy bit" :o

So I stumbled across your channel and *instantly* subscribed. Love all the tunes and your refreshing teaching style! Thank you for all the amazing content.
I am actually really intrigued about your setup and process:
    1. what privia (?) board are you playing?
    2. what preset/patch?
    3. what's your camera setup (you've got a great overhead shot)?
    4. how do you do the scoring and make the video seamlessly follow with the little green bar? (which is super cool for learning)
    5. what do you use for video editing and effects (nice touches on this one)?
    6. how do you program the drums, bass, and other instruments in the backing tracks?
In terms of more tunes...I'd love even more stuff in the "lemon drop" and "bombstep" genres.

yo, Groovewindow! This is really some amazing stuff man, thank you for publishing! :) I just made my own slow groovy organ version of the track, after the licks started to click. loving it! and let the groove process!
1 questions though. How do you make that final C in the bassline of the interlude on 3:12 swing up?
