I am presenting this portrait painting for beginners who want to start a portrait painting for the first time in acrylic.I have started this painting with sketching some of the delicate parts of the face, like eye, nose and mouth. Then applied I applied a mid tone for the entire face. Later I applied highlights and corrected the skin tone values with many thin layers of paint. I have not used any medium or retarder for this painting at all.

Question: I’m confused on your technique in blending the skin for realism, you don’t really explain it in the video.
Do you mostly keep a dry brush with paint a blend lightly ? Or are you always keeping the paint wet both in and off the canvas ? Would really appreciate your help! Thank you for all your videos and works of art!

I use both the technique. Sometimes keeping my canvas wet and sometimes dry.
I use water mist spray on my palette to keep my paint moist.
Try working in layers. It will help you.

I am a huge fan of your STUNNING work! Your videos have really helped me up my portrait game! I would consider myself to be still fairly new to painting. I only began about three years ago, but when I look at my first paintings, then what I am capable of now - gosh, the evolution is incredible and I still have so much to learn from the PROS!!! I am curious, how long have you been painting?
I have been painting from my childhood days with Oils and watercolors. But from 2008, I started painting with acrylics. The journey was not smooth as acrylic has multiple challenges. But later it becomes my primary medium for all of my works. You too can do it. Just keep practicing. Try some smaller subjects, like an eye, nose, ear etc. I have few videos on my channel about it.
I always suggest to spray water mist on your palette to keep the paint moist. It works so well and it will give you enough time to paint.

Ur so great mam,can you please kindly tell me,if we don't get idea on face whatever shades or colours,how to paint,the face colour looking similar throughout,what to do mam for perfect output as reference picture
Glad you liked my videos.
One practice you can do is to mix color according to the reference prior to painting on canvas. I have shown details in one of my older videos.
Or you can start with an underpainting with monochrome. then apply glazing over it. This is a much safer technique. You can watch videos on that too on my channel.

Just one very important question, how to you blend like that’s my biggest problem in painting like how did you blend so well for example the lips and skin. I would highly appreciate your answer and a big thanks in advance
Using right brush at the right time and color thickness and quantity matters most. You can master it while practicing. Just keep practicing. Thank you so much for your comment 🙏😊
From what I've seen, you could also use a wet on wet technique ( reference video: th-cam.com/video/zRjIVzlwOYQ/w-d-xo.html ) or just simply tap water on the canvas with something that looks like a makeup sponge, as the girl here does before painting: th-cam.com/video/rWOe-q_L8D0/w-d-xo.html

I mostly use white bristle flat or filbert brush. Sometimes nylons too. Thank you so much for watching 😊🙏
I noticed when you put on high light to the face you build it up but by bit.
You noticed it right. I put many layers of paint before achieving the actual results. It works best for acrylic. Thanks a lot 🙏☺️

I enjoy your painting video and most of all your control of your colour mixing on your painting palette.. i notice in your painting video when your use white paint your control on how much paint that you apply to the brush is limited. I notice you don't overwhelm the portrayed it too many colors of paint.

I found Acrylic more forgiving then oil. Acrylic has both properties of oil and Watercolor as well. It's less toxic and hassle free to paint and store. And your final result is quick. No need to wait for long to deliver.
