Unnoticed Detail: Bluebird’s wings sharpened when she fought Steven, but at the beginning of the episode and when the gems came, her wings became more round and less sharp.

theres a long running theory that hiss tan came from steven's birth, like the flash of light permanently burned into him when rose gave up her form
sounds rediculous when i put it like that but look it up, theres a lot of flashback evidence showing ow he only has the tan AFTER steven is borne, and not before. like the video with rose, even then steven almost borne but no tan, and in the holliday special, 3 gems andf a baby, greg has a tan and steven is practically a new borne still, maybe by a few weeks.
@@AGO339 I think the fact that 3 Gems and a Baby is set in winter also sort of supports this theory because who's getting a tan in winter? But I also think this will go unmentioned the rest of the series, so we will always be left to speculate :)

It feels like Steven totally CAN destroy his enemies, he just doesn’t want to because he’s empathetic. Which is totally fine because that’s ok. Also, this was my favorite Steven Universe future episode so far.

Greg’s heroic haircut moment was a standout
Both him and Sakura are honestly underrated characters.
Sakura was terrible in part 1, got better in part 2
theamazingmaymay123 Yeah I wasn’t a fan of her in the first series though I understood where she was coming from sometimes.
But in Shippidden, she started contending for one of my favorite characters at one point.
NO Greg was always the greatest character than Sakura
I agree he really pulled a Sakura on that one. Although i get why people call Sakura useless since back in the First Part especially in the chunin exams she did nothing but just say "Sasuke!" and "Naruto! " i guess people stuck with that although in Shippuden she got a little bit better especially in Sasori's Arc. IMO i don't hate her nor like her pretty neutral. What about you guys?
Honestly greg is way better Sakura is the most annoying character in Naruto not only because she is mostly useless but because she is always talking about catching up to Naruto and sasuke while in reality she is on hinata level at best
I feel like this episode didn’t address the fact that if Steven felt uncomfortable helping bluebird adjust to earth culture due to their shared past, that it’s not his responsibility to put the past behind them. He could accept that they appeared to be willing to change, and at the same time could recognize that he’ll never feel comfortable helping Bluebird, so he could leave the job to others.
I really felt like this was a missed opportunity and while I get that Steven is taking on other’s problems as his own, for garnet amethyst and pearl to push him to help bluebird feels quite out of character, and Greg’s conclusion just felt like it didn’t fit
Max Elliot I get what you’re saying, but since Era 3, Steven has put himself in the position of helping ALL gems learn and grow. If you accept a manager position at a Burger King, you can’t just not talk to an employee because they bullied you in middle school.
Steven accepted the role of what’s basically the manager of little home school. He gives a tour to new gems, he hosts welcome parties, he signs away on the classes that gems want to take, etc. It would be irresponsible for him to reject some gem because of their past. After all, he didn’t reject Jasper even though she kidnapped the Crystal Gems, tried to kill them, tried to create an army of corrupted gems, put Lapis through a rather traumatic event, and something else that I feel like I’m forgetting. So why would he dismiss a gem like Bluebird, Aquamarine, or Eyeball? Sure they did bad things to him, but the job that he accepted and is responsible for involves giving every gem a chance.
This confused me. At the end Greg said he loved how Steven “believes in everyone” and that he “stuck to his principles”... but Steven was one of the FIRST to accuse Bluebird, and assume the worst of everything she did before realizing he was wrong.
He overall still gave bluebird a chance. That’s why he Greg says that after Steven says he should’ve never given her a chance.
Steven didn’t really take any action towards bluebird, he was just suspicious. I think what Greg meant is the fact that Steven tried to keep an open mind throughout the episode. But I see what you’re saying and it is a bit confusing.

Well, he didn't exactly evict her, and he did misplace his trust by the end, right before the betrayal.
Steven was definitely suspicious of her but he still have her a chance and didn't act malicious towards her. How is that hard to understand?

This episode was like EVERY SINGLE "oh they say they've changed, but I'm suspicious, oh look they totally didn't change and r still evil" story EVER!

This is true, but with the context of Steven being the suspicious one makes things a bit more unique, as he's always been shown in the past as the one who's willing to accept others despite past flaws. I feel this episode is a good way to wrap up that part of Steven, having him finally realize that yes people *can* change, but they won't always *want* to.
TL;DR: yes it's cliche but it's a cool spin on Steven's character. Regardless, I hope we don't get many (or any) more episodes like this in the rest of Future.

I'm more sick of the episodes that hammer in what a pos rose/pink was. Like we get it, she wasn't the nicest more perfect caring person we all thought she was at the beginning, but come on it seems like they WANT her to be a villain at this point. All the people who knew her as pink are like "oh ya she SUCKED lol" it just never ends, it's just flaw after flaw after flaw with her, I totally understand pink!Steven's frustration with the whole topic. Like when Pearl and volleyball were talking about her in the reef, he's just sick of hearing all this bad stuff about his mom, and I am too! Find something else to harp on about ffs

I feel like Steven’s pink moment that his “I won’t let you get away with this!” line is a reference to Goku when he turned Super Saiyan fighting Frieze.
I like how when Bluebird attacks Steven and holding Gregg she has pointy wings meaning she’s aggressive and when she’s talking to the gems throughout the episode and at the end when she’s “hiding” her sword behind her back she takes a kind and friendly tone and her wings are smooth and “dull”. Just like animals (birds) when they’re feeling threatened they’re feathers look scruffy but sometimes they’re smooth when they’re in love.
Greg’s hair would’ve been causing him so much pain though.

@@AlletaLady technically the gems are alive, it's their physical form that's not "real" in a sense. Pearl or Garnet explains it in one of the early episodes, their body is made of light, but the gem is them. If the gem is cracked, it disrupts their physical forms, like lapis with her eyes and how she couldn't fly, and when amethyst was regenerating too quick and her body gave out on her. And all the monsters they were fighting at the time were corrupted gems. I think what's more interesting is that volleyball's crack couldn't be fixed, because it wasn't her gem that was cracked.

Ahmad Hamdan it makes sense that it’s technically a malachite. Both Jaspers and Rubies are warriors, and both Lapises and Aquamarines are water controlling gems (don’t know enough about Aquamarines to say if they are terraforming). So them being similar makes sense

Tbh i feel like Steven needs to start treating the diamonds like his sister's or at least family remembers its gonna take some time but he just treats them as awkward friends
The thing is, the Diamonds haven't been redeemed. They just fake having turned good just so Steven stays close, something he already noticed and makes him uncomfortable as seen in the first version of the song "Let us adore you" in the movie and White's obvious acting of judging everything from appearence being wrong

The Diamonds clearly only care for Steven being so similar to PD and reminding them so much of her (and i can't blame them, he shows MANY traits from her) but it's aggravating him, he wants them to change rather than keepimg up the farce. They think of everything Steven makes them do as a chore instead of fixing damage, hell i doubt they actually believe anything other than healing the corruption is fixing their mistakes

I love how garnet amythest and pearl fuse in the last few scenes. Garnet just grabs their shoulders, and they fuse. It truly expresses how close they are and how their love for Steven holds them together

I just realized in the episode bluebird steven was wrong when he said aquamarine kidnapped him and eyeball radded out him out on trial because steven turned himself in to safe his friends and steven radded himself out by telling he shadderd pink diamond
I literally thought the same thing about Greg's hair in comparison to when Sakura cuts of her hair. Sakura was prettier with her long hair
I think bluebird took Greg’s van because Greg was in it. So they took the van to get him to the roof.

As much as im upset about gregs hair, it makes me think that greg has moved on from rose. That the long hair has been his way of holding onto the past of his youth and meeting the love of his life. Now that its cut, he can start a new chapter of his life

I love Bluebird and I truly think she'll have a sort of redemption arc. Her and Jasper both seem very impressionable due to experiencing Earth (and also cross-gem fusion), even if it doesn't appear on the surface.

They probably met on homeworld, having their weapons taken away and said, "Hey, fuck Steven!" "Yeah, me too!" Then they somehow flew away from Homeworld and fused out of pure spite of Steven.

One little detail I realise. Every major character has change. The gem reform, Connie has shorter hair, Lars became Pink, the diamond became good, Sadie got green hair and Steven change it's outfit. Greg was the only one who didn't, now he has short hair making his character full circle and officially drift appart for the original show. I'm not sure if you'll understand sorry for that.
