Is there just 1 clone of Scott? Or is there even more! The conspiracy is that you get so much done because there is a whole group of clones! Nice work done to the Citroen! I have never driven or been in one, although have seen a few close up in my life. Beautiful cars! The little details are something the big 3 would never do today.

Hi everyone! This week it's all about the Slant Six Swap! I have a nice old Plymouth Fury that needs a new engine, and a rusted out Monaco that has a really nice one! Can we do it in one day? What could possibly go wrong?
Also: a bit of fun with Agent 4261 (AKA "Details Dave"), car spotter extraordinaire, and an update on our Citroen DS project!
. Thanks also to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments! If you would like to help keep our channel going, you can get a sticker, hat or a coffee mug at:

      Firing up that Model T
Just suits the hell plumb out of me.
Next hit the Citroen with some paint,
Then put back in what was but ain't.

Great video! Loved the camera shot through the Buick hood ornament. I had to do a clutch removal like that on a 22r engine swap once. Used a sledgehammer to bust the bell housing open. That Fury I is really a "Base" model. Love it! Thanks for the great video! Ted in Alabama

I enjoy watching all your videos. The clutch disc frozen on the input shaft was downright brutal. If I ever encountered that situation. I think I would try using my rotating head sawzall with a heavy duty blade. Rotate the sawzall head 180 degrees to be able to cut more parallel with the input shaft. Make 3 evenly spaced cuts then use the impact hammer on the cut sections. Your channel is very unique and entertaining and I never fast forward while watching. I'm usually rewinding because I'm always learning something new from you and your agents. I hope y'all stay safe and healthy.

The Fury I was used by the NYPD as a Sector Car in the late 1960s and 1970s. As an APO mine was a 1971 wagon with a 318 V8. Excellent vehicle! You shouldn’t pull engines on Mopar unibodies as Mark Warner of Grave Yard Cars has demonstrated, but rather disconnect the K member and use a lift to remove the entire power train assembly. That’s also been SoP at all dealerships for fleet vehicles as the former big 3 just swaps out engines & trans to rebuilding facilities for greater economies of scales. 😉

That nylon gear drive for that distributor was a pain in the ass. After not to many years, the nylon would get brittle and the teeth would break off. And the replacement gear from NAPA at the time . . . was metal of course! I had to change out the distributor gear on my grandmother's '68 Dodge Dart back about 1973 when the distributor went out of time and left her stalled on a bridge across town.

This is a great comedy of errors or nothing ever goes as easily as planned, but it was a runner, did it ever get to being driven on the road, it's really in decent shape in and out, with no rust holes looks like the body had some good lasting work done, and the interior looked like it had a nice seat and door panels, another decent car put back on the road again, congrats Scott keep up your usual high quality of work, or at least of the vids, we can use a good laugh, thanx for sharing

Such fun working on crusty old cars! I don't believe I have ever seen a clutch disc frozen that tightly. Good that you were able to save enough parts to get the Plymouth back together and running. Either that was your brother, Scott or the runner up in the Scott Newstead look alike contest. Great to see him rolling in the Alberta mud with the rest of you. My compliments to the special effects department on the panorama shot through the gun sight hood ornament while you were positioning the Plymouth in the operating theater for its transplant. I see Frankers paint has worn off. Her next trim should get what ever is left. I'd like to see you paint the Fury 4 door. That's a nice, straight, solid car. I noticed a shortage of jack stands. If you are in need let me know. I would gladly donate a few sets to avoid seeing you or one of the agents get injured during all the efforts. Cheers!

That 67 Fury I is drop dead gorgeous! I have a 68 Fury I 2d sedan ex-Nebraska State Patrol unit. Too bad the Monaco is so rusty, at least a lot of parts will be saved from it. Very interesting car, I remember that exact same body style but a red Fury in the early 80:s in Finland. It was also originally a slant six three speed without a vinyl roof but got a 440 4-speed already back then.

Back in '81 my first job after college was dismanteling import wrecks for parts. I had a thick book called Import Car Spotter's Guide. It covered early 1900s up thru the late 1970s. When they'd call from the dealership and say "We have a guy who just bought a right rear door for a Fiat Brava, have it ready when shows up" I'd quickly find it in in the book, and match the car to it. I worked alone in a huge wharehouse with about 50 cars in various states of being stripped. I moved them around with a pallet jack.

Nice to see everyone enjoying themselves and working around the yard. I was a bit disappointed that there were not more beers being consumed. The weather is perfect for imbibing here in KC, it's 92° I have to agree with Patrick Lynch, you don't often see a 2 door doner car go for a 4 door. The Citroen is an interesting vehicle, I continue to gain respect for that car. Stay cool, see you next week.

Man, I would love to visit you place. Looks like the 'yards' that I retrieved many parts from, years ago, when I was a LOT younger. BTW, I had two 'slant sixs' in a row, both of which had more than 300,000 miles one both of them. I sold my '71' dodge Dart, after I pulled the engine and sold it separately then junked the car.(with 300,000 miles). Then I had a '78' Plymouth Volari, that I drove to the junk yard with 300,000+ miles on it. Neither engine was ever was rebuilt. I really enjoy your videos. Reminds me so much of myself when I was young in the early 1960s and up to my eyes as being a 'gear head'.

Great job on the swap! Always the unknown to contend with! By the way, after washing the rust on the car with soa and water for the tidy, take a rag soaked with boiled linseed oil and rubinto rusted areas. Stops the rust AND shines it just right.
Have fun, good to ee all the buds together! Rich

      @Hanzyscure 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@chris younts I think he's talking about applying it to the body. It does work well. You just have to dispose of the rags immediately after use. They have been known to self combust while sitting on the can or in the trash. I think Lucky from Roadkill Garage had that happen when he shined up his 66 Chevhell.

I wish it only took a day to swap the 4.0 v6 in my dad's 00 Explorer. We worked on that thing for 3 weekends from Sun up to well after dark. On the gravel driveway on jack stands that didn't go high enough for my fat ass to fit under and work comfortably. Every thing was a fight from start to finish and just when we thought we were done the fuel pump shit the bed with a near full tank of gas. Got that fixed and running and noticed the rear brake lines leaking. Guess it had a right to need a few extras it sat 4 yrs with a blown engine. Nothing is ever easy if I'm involved. Lol

Back in the days when you could buy a full size sedan with a six cylinder engine, I knew a guy once who owned a '66 Belvedere four door with the slant six and three on the tree, when the engine took a dump he replaced it with a 170 out of a '62 Valiant, surprisingly that little engine moved that heavy car around though.
