As always an amazing effort from the entire team! Jared always says we give answers. Keep looking! Yesterday I had the honor of meeting Jacob and Lindsay from Chaos Divers and Britain from Depths of History! I told Jacob I got lost on the way and asked for directions at an auto parts store and they saw me wearing my AWP hoodie and I asked if I was a team member because they had been on the news. I said no, but when Jacob heard this he said you’re a part of our team! My heart grew 20 times larger! When I left they all smiled and waved to me! AWP really is everyone. What a wonderful group of people!

While it's the right thing to do to let them in ,this should be a lesson to private owned properties as well. While we all want to bring some sort of closure to the family and friends ,you need to protect yourself from liability. That corporation probably has deep pockets.
So when one of the divers has an accident and either dies or is somehow injured and not able to provide for his family and children.A lawsuit is filed ,and under deposition you'll hear the corporation employee allowed an amateur dive team to be there.
That's an easy 10M or more settlement that corps insurance will deny.
Will that likely happen ? Probably not.But I wouldn't want the liability .
      Keep up the great work

    • @sanderjutte8493

I guess it will be very difficult, not only liability/insurance issues but it could also attract (bad) publicity - headline: body found on Willy Wonka's property -,
a crime scene can appear so maybe operations must be halted for a while, some (bad) practices that can attract internal and external auditors.
They chosen (sadly but kinda understandable) the easy and safe way out.
It would be nice if a top shot was confident in his company and provide all the support to make it happen. Just for the family and local community.

That’s a reach considering any big company would want protection against liability. He probably thought he was meeting with someone tied to the police department and when he found out they weren’t, he had rules to follow. That seems more logical, especially considering it will all be on camera. He may have been more likely to break rules if it was a private thing.

I think the change in Ian's demeanor could certainly be that the way the message was given to him by dispatch is that someone went missing TODAY and law enforcement wanted to check there. He was willing to work with law enforcement on a fresh missing persons case, which is great. When he heard it is an old case and he found you weren't law enforcement, I think that's the difference. Law enforcement couldn't hold his company liable for any issues that happen to them, but private citizens could. It's reasonable - unfortunate, but understandable. Hopefully you can call them ahead of your next trip to the area to give them time to prepare whatever they need to give you permission.

I get the sense, though, as others have pointed out, that these folks have something else to hide not related to this case, but related to that body of water. From what I was told it used to be an old Quarry and is about 100' deep in areas super easy to drive a car into and I doubt it's ever been searched. A lot of these cases went unsolved. It was just too much water to cover. It was the hardest part of the job either notifying the family that we’ve recovered their loved one or telling them we’ve exhausted all the leads and we can’t give them closure. Thank you for what you’re doing I know it’s very emotionally taxing but what you are doing is invaluable to these peoples families!!! God bless and be safe!!

I have been in the industry for 23 years, and am pretty sure the employee would have lost his job and also brought Federal and state inspectors to the mine. This company will get far more negative publicity from declining access to a cold case investigation than they ever would just being attached to a solved old cold case on their property.

A few years back in my early teens my mom had told me that one of her friends nephew had drowned in Beaver Lake by the dam and he was with some friends swimming over by there when it had happened and I couldn’t remember if he had been recovered or they couldn’t find him. I never meet him but I tried giving my moms friend some support after I found out.

it doesn't matter if you sign waivers. even with a waiver someone can certainly still be sued. waivers are security blankets. tons of people get sued anyway.

To those that are saying that the guy knows something, or is hiding something. Take a step back and think of a simpler answer. The place is a corporate owned facility that has rules and requirements to follow. Is this guy gonna risk his job by not having them go through with the paperwork and risk them getting hurt? Yes the AWP team is professionals, Yes the chances of them getting hurt are very slim. The chance is still there though and they dont want the liability of that without the proper agreements in place. Not everything is a conspiracy and i hope that in future videos they tone down the conspiracy rhetoric and go with the more likely situations.

Although I agree not everything is a “conspiracy” however I can’t figure out why even the whisper of the possibility of a real conspiracy triggers people. The only way to “tone down” the conspiracy rhetoric in this video is to cut out the whopping 2 minutes they spoke of anything that could be interpreted as conspiracy related that’s the only part. So what I think you really mean is there are no real conspiracies ever and how dare someone even consider the possibilities.
It has to be the constant vilification of anyone who goes against the mainstream narrative that has created what I see as yet another way to maintain lies. They’ve convinced many to ostracize, bully, ignore, and even cut people out of their lives for believing the truth is being hidden about some things.

I’m only a minute in but here’s my thinking already…the stigma that surrounds mental illness is so sad to me because none of us make a choice when it comes to mental health struggles! It’s our make up. We have no choice in it. Enough with the stigma!

Literally yesterday I had a family member message me on Facebook telling me I was setting a bad example for my children by being depressed. It's not like I want to be feeling like this!

      @NeatNoodle 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@brianna_ray I'm sorry you were told that. I might suggest that your family member is the one setting a bad example by not showing compassion and kindness. A better help may have been to offer to take the kids out for a couple of hours if they were truly concerned about the kids being around your "example" so much. 💚

@@brianna_ray seriously? Like anyone would CHOOSE to suffer (because we all know that depression robs you of so much!) and have it affect our children! I’m so sorry they said that. I can understand if they tried coming at you with a loving “hey, I’m here for you and the kids, how can I help?” but it doesn’t sound like that happened. I’ve been there and the guilt is horrible. I suffered with postpartum depression for way too long and I remember my husband telling me that my depression was affecting him and the kids and I was crushed. I hadn’t realized just how bad it was until I started to feel better. Anyone who has been affected by anxiety, depression, any mental health disorder, does not choose to go through it. You’d really think by 2022 that would’ve changed. There’s much work to still be done!
