  • Two Missing Friends: Rodger Lewis Osborn (62) and Rickey Joseph Kutej (43) were last seen on the morning of March 26, 2003, in McAlester, Oklahoma.
They worked at a garage owned by Osborn, near 5th Street and U.S. Highway 270 in Alderson, Oklahoma.
he two men planned to go to the garage to complete some odd jobs.
Later that day, the police were summoned to the garage because it was empty.
They found the garage open but deserted.
Someone had been working with a bulldozer, and there was an overturned ladder and a small amount of blood on the ground.
Authorities theorized one of the men fell off the ladder and hurt himself, but there is no record of either Osborn or Kutej seeking medical attention.
Neither of them has ever been heard from again.
This documentary brings you alongside Adventures With Purpose's underwater search in Oklahoma following clues as to Rodger and Ricky's last known location at the garage they worked at together, along with the last sighting in McAlester, OK, leading us to search nearby lakes just north of town.

I am from Oklahoma I remember back in 2013 when the Oklahoma highway patrol dive team had been practicing in Foss lake and stumbled on 2 vehicles underwater when they had them removed they found the remains of 3 people in each vehicle 1 vehicle was a mustang of a teenager that had been reported missing back in 1970 along with 2 of his friends the other was a vehicle that belonged to a gentleman that had been reported missing in 1969 along with his wife and a friend when I saw that on the news I knew then their had to be many more people in vehicles underwater waiting to be found for families needing answers I am so glad to see that you guys are searching for answers for those families rather they have been waiting for days or decades people are getting answers that they otherwise might never have bless you guys and gals for all you do

You can take a fishing rod with a sliding bobber, set the sinker depth to the minimum depth you want to test and start casting. If the bobber sits up right, the sinker is not on the bottom. And you can cast it a long way. Easy way to test depth without electronics.

    • @keen_nocap
      @keen_nocap 2 ปีที่แล้ว +33

If you’re a digital asset guy, let’s do this.
The app can never rule out a body of water, but we can date mark search dates, and create a database of scans based on any body of water.
We can’t make a database without data, so we make it a crowd-sourced platform. We crowd source from everyone; weekend fisherman, search and rescue enthusiasts like AWP, party barge captains, and sonar manufacturers alike. Anyone that can upload digital scan files with time stamps and gps coordinates.
We can make the last scan date publicly available, with the scan footage. We take data from anyone with:
      - Side-Scan
      - Live scan
      - Gps
For a premium, we can add an AI layer to the platform and provide computer vision based object classification to our data to either:
      - Review possible missed objects.
      - Confirm identified objects before sending a diver down (which always has risks associated with any dive).
      - We could do anomaly detection based on one scan compared to another of the same location over time.
      - We could also use a video time offset between the side scan and the live scan to make one match the other. (When I first started watching AWP videos this was confusing to me. Give fire to the people.
      Later we add :
      - AWP Branded Merch to the app.
      - Incentivization program of some kind. Usage rewards, or gaming aspect like Pokémon go.
I could flesh out this idea in no time to a scalable modern crowd sourced platform, that generates revenue and solves mysteries and crimes.
      Let’s go.

Having had about 10 years in the auto field and not looking at anything except presented in this video. This sounds like intentional theft of the truck. Possibly foul play and they were dumped. However I would also think if that were the case they would have had more items stolen from the shop unless the parties got spooked

I used to be a park ranger - controlled burns will light downed trees on fire, and usually these fires are monitored by park personnel until the fire goes out. More of an issue are mulch fires that start on their own - these can be very, very difficult to extinguish.

    • @kate4biglittlevoices
      @kate4biglittlevoices 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Yes,’days and days after the fire burns out , deep branches and roots running underground are still smoldering somehow - it’s odd they have enough oxygen to smolder that way and not give off smoke obvious enough- this can happen despite water or rain or several days time or seemingly all brush having burned and only dirt left behind - it can seem like the dirt itself is burning - I’ve seen this more times than I can count from intentional and unintentional field fires

    • @RM-od6hg

Me being in the fire serivce, it would have been safe to let the tree burn due to the area around it had already burned so it was in the area of the black which is the burned area, but still a good job of them putting it water on it and being concerned about it... Not posting on this video for any particular reason other than it’s the most recent.
I’m not a huge sympathetic “people person” by any means. I stumbled across one of your videos yesterday and watched out of curiosity and just as an educational thing. I’ve watched probably 10 or more videos since then and I have to say you guys walk the line between respect and getting the job done very well. You don’t look at it as getting done so you can go eat and warm up, you stick with it to eliminate any doubt and stay professional and respectful the whole journey.
I had a cousin a few years ago who went missing, I didn’t know her, didn’t really have any type of connection, but obviously followed the news and the search efforts. She was eventually found at the bottom of a private lake across the street at a “T intersection”. I did some research and it doesn’t appear you were the team that ultimately discovered her and her vehicle, But by watching a few of your videos I somewhat understand what it took to eventually find her. Just wanted to thank you for what you do from a different perspective, I really don’t feel too much of the human aspect of it (I’m just wired different I guess) but I seriously respect the job you’re doing.

Hi guys, something that may come in handy when trying to assess a body of water without putting the boat in is a castable fish finder. Even a basic one will give you the depth of the water without having to guess by the angle of the magnet. They are small, probable and relatively inexpensive. You don't even necessarily need a fishing rod to cast it, just some way of slinging it 50ft or so.

Jared, I like your newer videos so much, especially the closure you’re bringing to these families. I like these videos so much I went back to the very beginning of AWP (3 years ago) on TH-cam and started watching your older videos. I’ve lived off of the Brazos River, in Texas, for most of my life and we’ve always picked up any trash we come upon. I have to say that I’d never be brave enough to dive though… I’d be too afraid of coming face to face with a very large gar! Lol

I have more questions than answers about this case. It seems to me that everyone is assuming that someone fell from the ladder & was injured so they got in the truck to reach the urgent care or the hospital but if the injury wasn't that severe isn't it possible that one guy was driving his injured buddy home? Knowing how stubborn men can be about not needing a doctor I find that equally as plausible as them going to seek medical care TBH. So, water between the shop & both their homes would be worth taking a look at if there is any. The other possibility I see is that perhaps both men were injured. If one was on the ladder & the other was trying to hold it, they both might have taken a fall in which case you could have someone with a mild concussion ending up behind the wheel & sadly, that could mean they are anywhere. Then again, the ladder & the blood could be a total red herring since neither would be an odd thing to find in a shop like that. They could have had an accident on their way to get lunch or to pick up a part. Because they took the truck, I'd lean towards them needing the truck to haul something their cars couldn't. I think this one will be solved if you can figure out WHY they took the truck because the why will give you the where.

Something to keep in mind about Oklahoma waterways is that they can easily go from two or three feet deep to a drop off of over ten feet. So they can be very deceptive. Also you were in Oklahoma you ain't getting stuck because of a winter storm unless you suck at driving on a little ice. Shoot you are more likely to get stuck if you get lost and try to drive down the wrong dirt roads.

I see many comments with suggestions of possible lines of thought in case of foul play. AWP has repeatedly said that they try to avoid cases of foul play for their safety and that of their families. They merely rule out possibilities where accidents are the answer. At that point, where the only answer left is foul play, it becomes somebody else's case to investigate. They rule out accidents, not investigate crimes.
