For the learners who can't understand Sanskrit I suggest Vol 1& 2, History of the Indian philosophy by Jadunath Sinha, but only a Gem could assimilate the philosophy.

108 bead माला, the one that isn't crossed while Jaap is called sumeru. Sumeru was in Pamir Knot North West of Karakorum, Indians travelled around Sumeru through passes but never went over it, as it was lethal.
Saota Sindhu to its south, Uttar Kuru to its North East & Tibet to its east. Uttar Madra to its North west.

With due respect to the Proffessor... Harihar was born in 1306. Madhavacharya died in 1303(as he says), then how can he be the patron of the Harhar brothers!! Vijaynagar established in 1336. So, Vidyaranya Swami and Madhabacharya may not be the same person. However the rest of the lecture is very comprehensive and his chronology of idealism is mesmerizing.
Thank you Kapil Sir, thanks to Sangam talks.

Madavachary and vidhyaryana swami are indeed different. Madavacharya was the founder of Madhya sampradya. The madhvas aka Ragavendra matt. Vidhyaryana swami was a scholar who was responsible for walk the establishment of vijayanagara Empire. He later became the guru of shrigagri shankara Mata. That is why the guru's of shrigagir matt are also address as Vijayanagara Sansthapana acharya.

With all due respect to Sree Kapil Kapoor ji, I just wish to confirm one thing from him. As far as I know, the legendary spiritual guru of Harihar and Bukka was Swamy Vidyaranya, an Advaitin sage from the Sringeri Math and Sri Madhvacharya was a Dvaitvadin from present day Karnataka region. I just want to confirm who was actually the guru of Harihar and Bukka who eventually became the founders of the great Vijayanagar empire.

I think many are misunderstanding vediaism with Hinduism. Hinduism is not an independent entity like jain vediaism or bhudhism. It is the collaboration of teaching from these dhamma according to their needs.

    • @abhimanyudharma21

@Poornima ramesh : Namaste ! Ours is Darshana Shāstra . Darshna means- "to see" ; Darshana Shāstra gives us the vision of truth , Tattva Jñāna , Ātmasākshātkār .
The etymological meaning of the word philosophy means Philo= love and, Sophia= wisdom (compound of two latin words) . The western Analytical philosophers reject this quest of going beyond the phenomenal-empirical world.
The purpose of Hindu shaddarshanas is not just the acquisition of knowledge about the empirical-phenomenal world but through introspection- realisation of the of the self and the pāramārthika reality .
      Our Shaddarshanas are as follows: Nyāya-Vaiśeśika , Sāmkhya-Yoga, Purva mīmāmsā-Uttara mīmāmsā .
The branches of western philosophy are : Metaphysics,Epistemology, Logic,Ethics, Aesthetics where they focus upon to know about the world under these branches separately.
Whereas, Our Shaddarshanas follow the Synthesis of these branches.
I have added my points on whatever little i have studied and on the lines of this lecture given by prof. Kapil kapoor .

@@abhimanyudharma21Thank you! 🙏 So they i.e. the West are still in the material plane of seeing things. While we transcend all these to realise the truth i.e. the oneness behind this multiplicity. Probably that is why they are in the search to find the smallest particle i.e. atom, quarks etc.. while we talk about consciousness which they have never delved into.
My doubt is why is it that we are so different? How is it that we are blessed with this knowledge while they are still searching for answers?

@@poornimaramesh5709 ji Namaste! You have noticed and made very important remarks on this topic !
Our Hindu Dharma shāstras-Darshana shāstras have focused upon contemplation and introspection and self-realisation so that we can not only understand the empirical-phenomenal world but also the transcendental reality i.e. sat-chid-ananda svarupa!
Our Hindu culture , philosophy ,rituals, festivals carry this aspiration of going beyond this vyavāhrika satta.
Even most of our Bhajans ,sankirtana has these devotional lines where we pray to Gods to save us from drowning in the worldly ocean and helping the jivas to cross this ocean of samsāra- "bhavasāgar se pār laga do naiyya"
Even in the Yajurveda there is the prayer to Bhagwan Rudra Shiva for the mukti of the jivas- addressing him as Namah Paryāya cha Avāryāya cha.
This is very natural for us Hindus that we want to understand and attain the Ātman-Brahman, Jiva-Shiva state.
On the other hand the Western philosophy is more about materialism they don't have that natural tendency and aspiration to attain the Ātma-bodha . They lack this trait of introspection.
