I am neither from Kano State nor from any royal dynasty. I am neutral in the matter. It is a very big shame to hear a so-called lawyer arguing like a layman. Appointment of an Emir is an administrative action which cannot be challenged via a fundamental rights application. Secondly, a court cannot make an order to stop another arm of government from performing an act which it is by law, empowered to do. Thirdly, the applicant in the fundamental rights matter is a third-party! Lastly, you cannot obtain a court order to stop an act which has been completed. I don't know who is advising Ganduje and his group. But I don't think they are brilliant or legally sound.

Both Sanusi and Bayero are two Fulani cousins. Hausa land ended up becoming the Fulani Empire after Usman Danfodio jihad war. Fulani use religion to conquer Hausa in their land. Fulani are so smart that they adopted Hausa language. I took a flight from New York to Nigeria and Fulani woman seat next to me. I heard speaking Fulbe, then later Hausa. Then i spoke Hausa to her, and she was shocked. She bragged, and the Fulani control Northern Nigeria invested more in Fulani Education. I don't understand the problem here. Emir Sanusi II was wronly deposed and the current governor has corrected that wrong doing by reinstating Sanusi. So what's the issue here???

    • @adamusafiyanu3341

The issue here is Sunusi ll dethroned for political and selfish interest,he has reinstated again for the political and revenge reasons.

He was wrongly put at first place to fight Jonathan, the other Emir father was the formal Emir so it is normal his son succeeded him but because of politics they put Sanusi in there

@@CboyCboy-ov9ef In Kano and across Northern Nigeria, Emirs are not suceeded immediately by their son. It is usually rotated somehow before it comes back; and this takes decades.
As at June 2014 when Ado Bayero died, his son Aminu as per tradition couldn't have been enthroned, that was why Sanusi was installed Emir.

These things should not be AT ALL.
The traditional office of Kings or monarch in our culture should not be in control of the governor.
Our culture is way older than the new system of democracy imposed on Africans.
In the UK, the queen or king is not subject to the parliament. Of course, there are checks and balances!
Its such a shame we are now toying with tradition all in the name of politics and putting our tradition and culture to shame!!

I am surprised you Arise TV are talking as if you are at "Mai Shayi" table. You don't sound educated at all. You are being sentimental and in support of Sunusi. Thats so unfortunate for a national TV. The 2 scenarios are quite different. Sunusi was found guilty of offense, rightly or wrongly, and was deposed based on that. Which public hearing do you need to depose him? 2. He went to court on somethng different, bordering on fundamental rights not for his deposition. 3. Is police commissioner under Kano state government? Police follows court order, period. And since there is a court restraining order, Sunusi is not the emir of Kano. So the legally recognised emir should be given the protection he deserves. Your main aim is to cause confusion and heat up kano politics since it is not your state.
