- A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has granted an order suspending the implementation of the repealed Kano Emirates law which allowed the reinstatement of a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, as the Emir of Kano.
The Sarkin Dawaki Babba had gone to court to stop the government's decision.
He joined the State government, the State Assembly and Speaker, the Attorney-General of the state, the Commissioner of Police, and the Inspector-General of Police, as respondents in the suit.

But, how does the Northern region operates Monarchy system of leadership ,which by definition, is a hereditary traditional system .
This all thing started when ado bayero was made emir instead of sanusi the 1st son. Ado is sanusi lamido's great uncle, the deposed king is his direct cousin, the thing mix too much.
What was good in 2019, state law, is also good in 2024 another state law. The former Emir has been deposed by a new state assembly act. So, any other thing to the contrary is an academic excercise period.

There's nothing like superiority. Court is to interpret the conflicts created by law and gives direction.
We must wait for court.
Even the law passed by the National Assembly can be struck down by the high court. But that is not the issue. The governor was under a duty to obey the order. He may then go apply to set it aside or defend the suit.
