    What another beautiful tutorial video. Flaxseed gel has been one of my favorite ingredients to incorporate in many products. And in case you don't know, the reason why flaxseed renders such a thick lovely gel, is because it's loaded with steric acid :-)

    You could also extract the annatto seeds in lye after removing it from the oil. Annatto has colors that are soluble in strong alkalis. That way you'll get twice the color for your money.

    I used to make flaxseed gel to use on my hair. A lot of curly-haired people did a couple of decades ago because there weren't any products specifically made for curly hair. The industry caught on and now there are lots of products made with flax for curly hair. It's very nourishing as well as being just a great gel in general for hold.

      The Sea moss and Dead Sea Mud must have made a very luxurious-feeling soap. I have researched using kelp powder in soap. Did it leave a distinct odor or did it fade with the cure? I know some people are able to compliment the odor with essential oils and fragrance oils. From what I’ve read, rosemary seemed to be the best one to use.

      @@rheshondajenkins5757 Hi, Sara has replied stating that we can add both Citric Acid and Sodium Lactate to the Lye water. One before mixing the lye and other when the temp of the lye water cools down.
      Also there is no specific percentage to oils for the Flaxseed Gel, but i usually follow just what Sara does. In her recipe it's around 10% gel to the measured oils

    Flaxseed is also excellent for IBS, Crohn’s disease or any type intestate to problem especially for intestinal bleeding. Prepared the same way. The jello will coat the intestines, stops the bleeding and the inflammation will heal. Family me,her was sent home from the hospital to die and 25 yrs later still doing fine.

  • @iwant2bback
    @iwant2bback 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Such a relaxing video. You are so right about the citric acid. It kills me when people say it lowers the pH. But I just want to say that making separate citric acid solution and adding it directly to the oils will accelerate so much because in there it reacts with the lye! I found that adding to the the lye solution will heat up all the solution like crazy. So i do it there and wait till it cools before adding to the oils.

    • @tellervo.
      @tellervo.  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you🤗 Interesting to hear your experience with it, I haven't noticed acceleration with making a separate solution
