I forgot to mention why I added two lids to the soap before leaving it overnight. The piece of acrylic was used to prevent any fresh air getting inside, which can cause ash. I added the wood lid on top of that for insulation during the gelling process. The wood lid by itself doesn't sit perfectly flat, so I like to use both. Thank you so much for watching! I also wanted to thank everyone who has purchased one of my SoapMaker graphic t-shirts (listed above...under the video description box) or used any of my affiliate links. I can't thank you all enough for supporting my channel! - Holly :)
Thanks! Holly, you are incredibly knowledgeable. I’m so happy I found your channel. I can’t believe you share your love for soaping as you do and your recipes. I’ve been watching your videos for a while. Your voice is so soothing and you’ve made learning very easy and course worthy. I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve taught me. Please accept this love coming right back to you.
@@donnahayes7375 Unfortunately it appears Holly doesn't care about her viewers, $49.99 was a very nice gift from you, if I had a TH-cam channel and you donated to it, I would certainly thankyou for this.
You have the BEST voice for videos and should do them for others as a side hustle! 😁😍 Thanks for being so generous with your sharing Holly. I rarely comment on these videos but am a fan and decided you needed some kudos for being such a great teacher and always being so sweet. 👏❤
New subscriber here. Love that you extracted the calendula in both water and oil. You are an excellent teacher too! I can listen to you for days! Amazing content!
A neighbor helped me make a batch of cold process tallow soap about 20 years ago and I remember that I added calendula petals to the soap. They were kind of scratchy in the finished product, so I like this idea of infusing the oil and substituting the tea for water in the lye solution. Maybe I’ll give it another try! 😊
Dear, dear Hollly I just made the soap and its amazing, it feels beautiful on the skin, such healing ingredients! I made this soap for a friend that who has Vitiligo with very sensitive skin. I can't thank you enough. God bless you for sharing the recipe with us...
I made your calendula soap recipe yesterday and unmolded it this afternoon. It looks wonderful. I’ve never done a 20% Shea before, I’m very excited to try it out. And it was so relaxing to not have to give special consideration to color and swirl design. I appreciate your videos very much!
You get the Blue Ribbon for your videos, Holly! So professionally edited, gorgeously filmed, and educational. I love watching them during my lunch breaks. :) Thank you. Please never stop making them. So inspiring!
Dear Holly, thank you very much for your great videos - I love them. You have a very pleasant, calm voice and the individual steps are easy to understand. With this video it was easy to make the soap. Many greetings are sent to you from Germany
Thank you so much for your generous spirit!! I have learned so much from you and all your videos. I love them dearly. At a time when people weren’t sharing recipes you were then and now. I thank you for your encouraging heart helping us to believe that we can do it. I believe there’s a Queen of soap commerce and a soap Queen. You guess which is which🤣. Thanks for sharing your ideas in a calm (Kentukian) way. Forgive me if I guessed wrong. Stay safe and thanks so much!!!💗. PS Calendula is my to die for so if your wondering why I’m gushing could be that. 😎
What s beautiful pure and soft looking bar of soap... They are beautiful! I loved seeing all the steps involved with the infusion and tea. Superb video, Holly 💛
Oh, thank you so much, Shonna! 💕 I can't wait to see what you create with the beautiful oil infusions from your recent video. All of your gorgeous flowers made me want to try a sunshine infusion just to have the jar sitting in my windowsill. 😁
And that is how you make an elegant perfect bar of soap! I usually make calendula creams so I will try today this one. Thank you again, Holly, for a calming relaxing lovely video to watch🙏❤️
Holly...you are my absolute favorite CP soap artist. I began my HP soap making journey 5 years ago but have recently started CP again using the heat transfer method. You are such an inspiration to me. I have always loved infusing my calendula in Olive oil and I make calendula tea, too. It's one of my favorite soaps. Your videos are just beautiful. 💞
Thank you so much, Valerie! That's so very kind of you to say! I've never used the heat transfer method, but I've really wanted to try it. Thank you again for your kind words! 💕
This video makes me appreciate every single little details on creating a perfect batch of soaps! Love that you used both calendula infused oil and the calendula tea for the recipe! Just the perfect video that I needed to watch after a busy week! Amazing videography as always! I especially love the scenes with natural light by your kitchen sink!
Your voice is so calming and relaxing. I suggest your channel to everyone, especially soap makers who need your calm and soothing style. Thank you for your videos.
It’s a pleasure listen to you and see your videos … thanks … I would like to say that I think it would be better if you made the lye solution with frozen tea of calendula… in case the heat of the lye could damage the properties of this marvelous infusion … thanks for your attention
thanks for sharing, Holly. I made a similar soap but with Chamomile petals. I also added some ground chamomile petals to the batter. Love and greetings from Pretoria, South Africa.
Beautiful to view, lovely voice to hear, awesome end result. Infused tea, any benefits or just colour. Calendula is my favourite I grow those flowers all year round for my skin care products. Love Love Love this from Australia 💛
I'm new to soapmaking and I love watching your videos. They are so calming and relaxing and the soap is beautiful! I would love to try this one someday.
I can’t wait for summer and harvesting my calendula petals ready to make this rich looking soap. Thank you Holly another beautiful video to awaken to. Take care
Thank you Holly, I really appreciate all your kindness in helping others, also using the soap calc tool encourages others to develop skills in this area.
Me gusta todo el proceso: maceración y te de la flor de calendula, y el resultado como todos sus jabones, fantástico!!! Gracias por la fórmula 🙂🙅♂️♥️🇲🇽
I loved your video. I have my calendula “tea” in the freezer now in preparation. Using calendula infused sunflower oil in my recipe. Cant wait to unmold tomorrow. Thank you for sharing your recipe 🦋
Thank you for your lovely videos, you've been a great inspiration, I started my soapmaking and I loved it. Could you please teach us how to make our own infused oil to use instead of the essential oils or fragrance oils, they are nowadays too expensive. Could we use this same method for any kind of herbs? Mint for example. Will the final result be the same as if we used essential oils?
I really like your videos thank you for posting them. Can I ask you why do you put some of your soaps in the oven and some in the freezer. I don’t understand the theory behind it. Thank you so much

Thanks for sharing and this is so inspiring 👌 please what is the lye concentration ratio in grams? The calendula tea is 65% while NaOH is 35%, May I know them in grams???
I love watching your videos, you film them so well, the music is always balanced and nice and your voice is really calming and friendly. I love how you show the soap calc at the end of each video, it makes it not so scary to us beginners! And I must say the soap looks so rich and lush, is that because you used the 6% superfat? Which I assume means you use more fat in the recipe right? I love calendula and growing it, I didn't have much this year but hope to plant tons of it this summer.
