What kind of motor did the other bike have on it to be able to outrun a 301 predator?? This was a cool build!! Thanks for the videos!!
@@crazyhorseracing6130 a heavily modified 212 Hemi
Ya buddy heck ya super happy I found you guys I’m going to pull my predator 301 off my homemade big trike to put it on my first gen trailmaster mb 200
That will be a sweet ride! those are good bikes.
You think a 301 will fit on the bt200r?? I want to do the same thing I have original motor and it dies when I’m riding full throttle don’t know why maybe need a carb I can tune?
I think the rear tire is a little low from my perspective
Great video 👍
Thanks
I wish we could put rear shocks on these bad boys . For us men it’s hard on the rear end . I guess if we keep modifying we’ll end up with a dirt bike .😁
Ya the frame design of the BT makes a swing arm pretty difficult.
Heck ya guys y’all worked thru all the issues it’s crazy how the 301 carb and governor are different from the 212 . Big like and share from tbc I have lots of videos of many many predator builds on my channel
I will check it out
Did you use the factory jackshaft
The governor is a pain in the ass to remove you gotta go inside or get a flatslide carb and I'm currently lining up my clutch and rear sprocket I'm gonna have to cut the keyway further into the shaft so the clutch is closer to the engine the I'll go from there😅
@@patriciaeaton-up4yj😅
I wanna stage 2 kit for my 301 but I have the ovh not hemi or can I get the stage 2 hemi kit and use it on my 301?
I honestly have no idea. All we have done to this one is put a header and now it has a 28mm Mikuni carburetor and it flys
Those stock linkage suck there are a couple good ones you can buy that work really great omb warehouse and studz racing I hope you took that governor completely out of the engine I wouldn’t leave it in there it will tear that engine up
Ya we removed the whole thing. Ya I hate those linkages. It's getting a mikuni
How did u run the throdle cables
@@thomaslinnell2479 making these carbs work without the governor is tricky and you get a short throttle. I recommend a Mikuni carb or some other slide style carb.
Dang dude where do you live the area looks so nice
Near Eugene Oregon
Should clock the pull cord back so its easier to start
Definitely
Wear a helmet. 301 should have enough torque to pull a smaller rear sprocket, but it will be hard on the belt. Slot the holes in the backing plate if needed to get the belt fairly tight. This will help belt life and takeoff engagement. I used a dremel with a rotozip bit, worked like a charm. A Go powersports juggernaut clutch is far better than the chinsy comet style for high torque applications. As far as I know they are only in 3/4" bore size. If you have the know how, you could turn down the shaft to 3/4 and re key it. Kart Fab on youtube used a jackshaft setup to center the engine better. Fair bit of work, but I think it is probably the best solution for a 301.
Lucky the belt we got from Gopowersports was super tight.
mlindsay527 I'm currently looking at the jackshaft idea you mentioned for the Trailmaster. Not a bad idea my friend!! The Predator hemi 212 Stage 1 race engine is great with the super 30 series but that I don't know how much that stock pulley is going to take! I have a few ideas I'm looking into, thanks for planting that seed my friend!! Honestly a great approach for racing purposes too!
@@fatbuddycat I'm new to all of this.. but is the jackshaft something that can be used with both a centrifugal clutch and a torque converter or is it only used with one and not the other? I'm trying to figure out what to use in my build.
@@ChristopherJones16 jackshafts come in different forms but yes, some jackshafts have pulleys to work with a torque converter and some ate set up for clutches. The heavier or bigger the tires the more I'd lean towards a torque converter my friend.
How does the added engine weight affect handling and jumping?
You don't really notice it. There is a 16 lb difference in weight between the 301 and 212, but that's with the stock intakes and mufflers. The 301 muffler is a lot bigger than the 212, so bigger weight drop when you remove both, so probably less than 14 lb difference.
how fast was he going
Close to 50mph I have another video where we upgrade the carb and get top speeds

Why would anyone use a belt when chain is stronger?
For the torque converter?
It's for the torch converter, and those belts are super durable
Great video where u get the battery pack at

I know this videos 3 years old but hopefully you guys see this comment.
I currently have a brand new predator 301cc and a bt200x and I’m looking to do this exact swap. It seems a bit tedious but I think
I can get it done. Do you recommend any parts or anything specific to do this?
Just that engine plate and a welder. You can do it. It's a sweet bike.
How fast does the bike go?
i know its 3 years old but plz respond back to my comment
We did a top speed run in this video.

Was there any modifications to the frame?
I don't think so other than cutting off the chin guard mounts
Penelope!!!!!!!
That same one I got 301 predator engine
I go 60 mph no cap
This Bike is geared for trail riding, it has a 60 tooth sprocket on the rear
@@user-pg6uq2hq7d do you have a 301 block on yours?
@@krisjenkins4040 yes
Will the 301cc stock exhaust and air box fit or do I have to get the upgrades?
I'm not 100% sure but I think not. They are too tall to fit under the frame rails

Looking at these 301’s but damn that’s a lot of work. So looking back was it worth it or could I get the same from a modified 227 predator? Also is the 301 a gas hog in the trails next to your 212? I’m in Salem btw. Should hook up sometime. Bunch of boys doing a downtown Portland ride in November. 🤙🏼
The 301 is definitely worth it. I does consume more gas, but your not going to get the torque out of a small block. If it was mine I would put a 420, 440 or 460 in it. I moved to TN last year, but rides in Portland are a blast.
Big motor & sprocket it should have acceleration & hill climbing power. GPS speed with its current sprockets etc?
No top speeds yet. I need to remember to do that. I can tell you it's close to 50 mph
@@DJsHotRodFabWhat is that big rear sprocket?
I had stock 10/50 sprockets & put a 9 up front. It helped both acceleration & top speed as the stock gearing is too tall for the Hisun. Plan to go even lower with 10/60 to I hope optimize the gearing for what power it makes. I think it will again pick up a little acceleration & top speed maybe 2 mph. 🤷♂️ Runs 45 on a flat with 220 pound rider about 4,800. 48 down a slight grade at 5,200. I just don’t want too much gear/rpm with stock motor. Thinking I don’t want more than 5k on a flat or 5,500 down a grade. 🤔

I am monetized. Feel free to skip them. I certainly don't make enough for what I put into this channel, but it's growing.
hahahaaa
Get off utb
?
Y'all really can't even work on mini bikes, would hate to see any car y'all built actually hit the road. Probably put the throttle return spring on the wrong way and go full throttle into a tree.
Probably
wanna go fast REALLY Fast take the throttle screw out and screw that cause you dont need it then take the jackshaft off and straight chain it i did that with a 212 on a coleman and the thing goes 60 65 with no problem
That will work. We gear our bikes for trail riding and we most of my friends are over 200 lbs including myself so we need gearing to move our fat butts. This bike has a 60 tooth rear sprocket. We could gear it up to get a higher top speed, but with one crappy rear brake I think it's plenty fast. 60 - 65 is definitely fast for one of these. Good job
