Metallica is a unique band that has had the privilege of having 3 amazing Bassists grace their songs, album's, and stage. Cliff will always be Metallica soul. Robert is great and the best replacement for Jason. Jason....man oh man, he was the heart that brought the soul together for Metallica. He deserved better. He's like Dave Grohl, he's got talent to play multiple instruments and a singing voice.

Jason had such an on stage presence . He added so much to even their earlier songs from their first three albums when you would hear them play live. Whether it’s him singing seek and destroy doing most of the vocal work there or his backing vocals on songs from ride the lightning, in master of puppets, or just the way he played every Koncer like it could possibly be the last time he’s ever on stage. He would get everybody hyped.

He was so underrated, I think he was the first and best fan MetallicA ever had, and the albums recorded while he was a band member sounded great (except for ...And justice for all, of course, because his bass was muted)

I been a fan of this band since the first time I heard them in 1983. All three bassist brought something special to the band. Jason had some really big shoes to fill when he joined Metallica and he did not disappoint, especially live. He brought so much energy to the stage, and is responsible for some great tunes as well( he doesn't get enough credit for that).

Jason is a true musician..he wrote all the lyrics and contributes songwriting on flotsam n jetsam debut album doomsday for the deceiver prior to replace the legendary mr burton..he also involved in some stuffs in no place for disgrace..anyone who loves jason should check on flotz.
I can’t even imagine trying to fill the shoes of someone so great, let alone in the worlds most important band, and not having him to at least talk to about what he was doing or what he played. It took real courage to do what Jason did, even after the way they treated him and took out their pain on him, he was respectful with the way he handled things to the end, even when the rest of the band, James especially, was being unreasonable. Going through all of that, and then having the people you look up to the most becoming the people that hurt you. He may not be in Metallica anymore, but he left his mark on them and changed who they were forever, laying the foundation of who they are and how they operate now. Thank you Jason.

My nephew & I were in THIS VIDEO, Jason's last performance as a member in FTB in 2000, LA, Shrine Auditorium Parking Lot for the VH1 Awards. All those 50 or so people around the parking lot were all MetClub members. I met Sebastian Bach that day, he was there! My nephew & I were "first in line" watching the Road Crew set up like in the middle of the day. The James' legendary good luck Marshall amp was there, a few feet away from me. Other MetClub members came from FAR, one dude literally flew in from Texas. My nephew & I had red devil horns on our heads. BEFORE the show, the ONLY MetallicA members that came out to meet & greet was JASON! Got his autograph, my nephew got pics from the Road Crew. They sat him down ON TOP OF THE ORANGE MUSCLE CAR. Before FTB, MetallicA warmed up with So What! [not televised, obviously]. When Lars came out he was smoking a cigarette, the first time I saw him smoking, so the cover of Garage, Inc of him smoking was not a "staged" photo, he actually smoked (not sure if he still does). I wish this video you made also had Jason singing full lead during the Summer Sanitarium Tour 2000. I also wish this video had Jason singing in Whiplash! I also wish this video had Jason playing guitar on Am I Evil?
