This warm up exercise is really, really useful. It's Saturday morning, I'm having a small gig tonite and this video is very helpful to warm up my voice. Thanks a lot!
I'm waiting for the soprano 's version of this workout, in the meantime I'll do this one as I'm going out for my daily run... 🏃♀️Double workout in a Sunday morning : 8a.m. here in Italy. Happy Sunday Jeff and thank you!!!🎶❤️🎵
Jeff, I definitely need to practice more, I thought after obtaining certain ways to sing it just sticks, that’s not the case . I’m going to continue with my drive in and hopefully squeeze more time in. I really appreciate you and your videos. I always mention you and just hope to make you proud. I’ve come a ways but I definitely have to practice everyday or my voice knows it. The viewer will know too. I guess it’s wanting something so bad you put in the hard work. Discipline isn’t always easy.
Hi Jeff! Thank you for these awesome warm ups you do for TH-cam. I was wondering, if you would do a warm up for a person with high range. I usually do one alto, one mezzo soprano and one soprano warm ups as my regular routine. It would be cool to have a set for us with high range. These vocal work outs you do for TH-cam are very useful and I do them regularly. These are great alongside singing classes I take. :) Take care and have a nice week!
You're welcome! thanks for subscribing and thanks for your thoughts on some high range videos. I'm happy to do more, I've already done a few, you might check these out while I get some new ones together: th-cam.com/play/PL2mQP7sE6PHgGgGoikDVC0X6WCvQE_y22.html
I do use some terms that you might only be introduced to at university, but once you get a grip, I believe it will help in your overall understand of your voice, and consequently, your usage and mastery of it!
Jeff! I love your videos they have helped me so much thanks you for all these options!! Can you please do a video about vocal breathing vs instrumental breathing? Before I started my vocal journey I have been a sax/ bass clarinet player for 13 yrs. We were always told to hold as much air as possible and now that I'm switching to vocal breathing my body is refusing to adjust and wants to hold onto extra air all the time. I don't need a full breath for alot of notes like alot of ppl and I think it's due to the band years. Any advice?? Does this make a difference?? Ahhhhhh 😅
Hey! I'm a saxophone player myself! The breathing is definitely different. I did this run down not too long ago: th-cam.com/video/qT1j3InEakM/w-d-xo.html
just saw your old video but here to try new one. i have a question. my friend pointed out to me the other day that i have more of a mezzo range than an alto like i had believed. i did one of those test your range videos and found she was right. the things i feel like im in between them. cause its hard for me to go super low in alto range but also difficult for me to go higher in the mezzo range. how should i combine the warmups?
I'd combine the warmups to cover whatever range is necessary for your songs - but also realize that there is quite a lot of overlap in the vocal fachs. Mezzos and Altos share a lot of the same space on the keyboard, and your fach is defined not solely by the notes that you can sing, but by the location of your registration events. Keep going!

I don't know if you've already addressed this in a previous video, but how do you know when your vowels are aligned?
Love it! Thank you Jeff 🙏🏽
My pleasure!
That was cool.
I find myself having to look terms up frequently, but then I guess that's a good thing...

I can't do lip trill.
If you haven't tried my free method on my website, I go through some strategies to get it started. Thanks for watching and thanks for subscribing!

thank you! i did not realize :)

❤🎉😊
I don't understand the purpose of the lip trill. It doesn't facilitate an open throat.
You might need to assess your appoggio breath management practice.
yes it does lol. like many singing exercises, you can lip trill correctly with an open throat, or incorrectly with constriction.
I can't do a sustained lip trill to save my life, so I'm with you!
Hi 👋🏼
What’s the significance of the Super Lip Trill?
👍
Thanks
Thank you for the Super Thanks! I appreciate it!
