I keep rotating your mezzo soprano videos and this one now is top of my list! I have been on the road and having this daily helps keep the voice in shape until I can get back to a regular routine. I do have to get creative though when muffling vowel vocalizations in my hotel room! 😅 Thank you, Jeff.
Going through E's and then A's is one of a challenge. Since i've discovered you, like a month now, i've been practicing and noticing changes in my voice. Thank you so much for uploading such nice content like this!
I can almost get through all the vowel changes ! I see if I don’t practice in the morning I usually don’t get a chance so I just gotta stick with that and practice almost every day makes a huge difference for 15-20 minutes
I love your videos!!! I'm in South Korea touring with "Sister Act"! Doing Mary Lazarus is super fun, but this mezzo is singing in the basement 😂 Your videos are helping me keep my upper range healthy!
Thank you Jeff! I forgot about lip trills and how much it is effective whatever it does it does but my lips are out of shape. I used to play trumpet and your lips actually get fat making almost like a trill on the trumpet. My sisters hated me for a year😂. Music is such a beautiful thing.
Thank you Jersey Love Steph! I used to hang out with a lot of trumpet players, and while I noticed what you've mentioned here, I didn't really put two and two together! Thanks for being a part of the channel! Hope to see you in a live event soon. I'm a bit overdue, as happens with me.
@@JeffRolka i was part of the Band for 4 years made High School something I looked forward too. That’s pretty cool we have that in common. I gotta make it to one of the live events . Where do you post for them? I am subscribed to your channel I’m sure you know because it’s the only way I’ll make an audition count!
Thank you Jeff 🦋 Gonna listen to this later on! Your the best and thank you for teaching on what vibrato and all the singing terms mean and how to achieve that. I have learned a whole bunch and still learning. The best part is actually singing and feeling the emotion when I don’t have to just focus on if I will hit a note.
Thank you so much, Jersey Love Steph! I appreciate it, and always appreciate seeing you pop up in the comments or in the live events! Thanks for being here!
Do you mind if we mention you on our videos? I might finally have an opportunity to sing “The Star Spangled Banner”! I’m so excited and nervous a bit but I’m taking the opportunity I been working all year for this. Any suggestions ?
Thanks a lot Jeff! If you read this message, please advise, how to warm up after an inflammation of the vocal chords? It took pretty long, 2 weeks. I'm recovering now, but not completely. How to start to sing again?
You're welcome! Be patient. Prioritize your singing voice when you're not singing. That was the advice that I received last year when I had some inflammation. If you can see an ENT, do it.
Is this a good video for working on hitting the correct note instead of getting a flat or sharp noise? Otherwise, is there any specifically working on that?... I'm always sharp even on low notes. I tried to do a few notes to see if I can get it dead on and I did, but I don't know what I did differently. Even working with this video slowed down, I am still shart
There's a fair amount of front end gear that the mics go through, but ultimately, I record in OBS. I did a video on this awhile ago, but it's changed a bit since then: th-cam.com/video/oqJ1HvdPtk4/w-d-xo.html
Ok wow. I was finally able to hit majority of the notes with real precision, without straining for it!! And my throat feels strong! Only been a little over a month. Jeff Rolka, you’re a real teacher.🫵🏽🤘🏽❤
Thank you so much JoshC! Thanks for subscribing and thanks for your kind words! I am really happy to hear that the videos have been serving you well! May they continue to do so!
Mezzos appreciate you both for; thinking and providing such lovely material for us.
Yes we do
Your warmups have been my go-to for years before gigs and band practices! Thanks for always posting awesome content!
Awesome Vex! Happy to be here to serve! Enjoy and thanks for subscribing!

You're welcome! Hotel room vocalizing! Should be alright as long as it's not too late, right?

Thank you Jeff!
Dude! that was a toughie, but fun!
Thanks JEFFF!!!
You are amazing and I love your warm-ups! Question. How do you know if you are a Mezzo or a Soprano?
Thank you so much Dana! I appreciate it! There are a variety of factors, so I'll answer you in Questions from Comments 45! I'll have it out soon!
Jeff
thank thank thank youuuuuuu!!!!
Love it! ❤
Maybe I’m an alto now bc I don’t have the flexibility in my upper register to keep up with the fast, high scales 😭

Not at all! Mentioning me or sharing my videos is really helpful! Break a leg if you get the chance on the Star Spangled Banner!
@@JeffRolka I promise to really dedicate myself to becoming a well trained singer. With your videos it’s possible and dedication

I think to Lower your larynx, I’m not a professional by any means. Jeff knows and just keep practicing
It may help, but if it's too hard, you might want to start with videos in this playlist:

What do you record your TH-cam videos with, if I may ask? Thank you.
