Thank you so much for your kind words! I really try my best to get the most helpful videos that I can and honor requests as much as possible. These longer videos are the result of a request from the baritones!
      Best!

@@JeffRolka Very kind of you, i hope more people come and hopefully they'll be able to support you on donations and help you keep on this, i'm pretty sure that if you were around here about 2008, i would be a much better singer, i used to have about 5-6 octaves, a E5 on a chest\fullvoice, and a pretty good domain on my skills, mostly self taught lessons, only studied the basics with pretty good teachers in my country (Brazil btw), but developed all of it by myself. If you have time, try to listen to a song from a brazilian band that inspired me to sing, it's called: Angra, song name is Carry on. Listen to the studio version.

Hey Jeff. Ever since I started taking testosterone for HRT my voice basically went from Cher to Bruce Springsteen in just months LOL. As my voice keeps lowering and I started to think that I'd never be able to keep up with the changes (since I've been struggling with reaching higher notes with resonance and with my head voice). I found your channel recently and now I feel more attune with my voice and you've given me hope. I started doing these exercises and it's doing wonders for my technique. I can't thank you enough.
P.S: I can't stop staring at your lava lamp.

Heyyoooo jefff quick update I started singing practices on January as I was bored during lockdown and wanted to do something productive,I really was heavily inspired to sing and produce by the weeknd so I started singing warmups for fun, after research I stumbled upon ur videos and oh my that was the best thing happened I daily did ur vocal warm ups even though it was hard for me but I pushed and pushed and after 5 months of continuous daily practice I think am wayyyyy better than I used to be. Just wanted to thank you and share a story to motivate others that you can do it....this is just the beginning for me and a new chapter,Never gonna forget you❤️
I am just 14 but one day when I will grow up am gonna support you on ur patreon!

Range doesn’t determine vocal type, it’s tessitura which is where in your range you sound strongest/is most comfortable.

  • @unknownwriter2114
    @unknownwriter2114 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

This whooped my butt today. I have been trying to focus on strengthening my mid to upper range in full voice without going into headvoice/falsetto. I actually made it through the whole thing today; I sometimes do Seth Riggs' warmups along with yours but today I chose to do just this because it is intense. Thank you for being so knowledgeable about the voice.

Your videos are detailed, well planned, providing a ton of information balanced with practical application. I sing this warmup every Sunday to set my week up for continued practice, working on particular areas and this is just an amazing exercise. I’ve grown all across your channel from the old video days and am finally feeling confident to sing in front of others. ❤️ While I support the channel, maybe one day I’ll request a personal lesson from you. I manage to sing all the notes easily. Boy that octave was quite a challenge but I went through without pushing a lot. Thanks to you since I followed your technique more than 2 years ago I find it very easy now to blend my registers to the point that it just feels natural without cracking and without clicking on my break (around f#4 to g#4)
I made some modifications by adding Y and G consonants on your exercises. These consonants help seal the chord closure which helps retain the sound color, but I dont recommend it right away without mastering your resonance matching technique.
Thanks for the wonderful vocal journey with you. I was able to recuperate my voice from wrong execution of pop/rock technique.
Your exercises also helped me in refining my countertenor technique using (alto to mezzo scales).
Your exercises gave my counter tenor register a smooth sopranoish tessitura rather than my old shout/belt style.
More love and power to you,
    Angel

Quick question, Jeff, but first, thank you for all you do for singers like myself:
On that second to last exercise, where you go up to the high C, I find that using a lip trill, or the ooh sound gets me up there, but not the suggested vowels. I think I'm not sure if I'm supposed to pull my mix voice that high up, or switch into head. I guess my question is, am I supposed to be able to pull mix that high up, or work with transitioning into head voice for that exercise?

I had very good instrumental training in high school. It was so fun, I never thought to learn vocals until recently. I'm sorry to sound cliche, but you're awesome, man. I don't know what else to say.

I have sung "Panis Angelicus" Friday and it was fine even though I had bronchitis and I had been coughing like hell that day. The advantage of the methods of Jeff seem to that they are soft and natural and so they don't fall away suddenly when you are sick.

Hi Jeff. This is a great warmup for the holiday season. I will working on it until my next rehearsal in two weeks. I am a tenorino, so the exercise covering the secondo passaggio only covers my primo passaggio (F4). I am looking forward to working on the warmup for altos in the coming weeks. At last, wish you a good holiday season.

I have been doing these exercises for over 8 months now and I have seen a great improvement in my voice. However I don't understand why I always fatigue after doing these exercises, and I have to wait for almost two or more hours before I can sing again. Pls help.
