the point is to apply the whole vocal alignment exercise to the songs. great video for alto vocal range, and the tenor one was great too, thank you Jeff
Hi Jeff! I've been terribly sick with ear, sinus, and UR infections. I was unable to sing for 6 weeks. I restarted practice 2 weeks ago using your gentle warm-up. ❤ I can still hear and feel weakness in my mid range/mixed voice. Also some discomfort. Any tips to get back into top vocal shape?
Sorry to hear that you've been ill! Patience. If you've been really ill, it's going to take time to be back to normal. Take it slowly and gently! You'll get there!
Thank you so much for these videos! Could I just ask - what is the purpose of the minor exercise at the end? Is it to acclimatise our cords to different intervals?
It sounds like an air flow issue. Maybe start with some breathing exercises to begin working on a solid flow. And then work on adding scales after that. If that doesn't work, you might need to see an ENT specialist. Hope this helps!
I'm sorry to hear that. Take it slowly, of all things. Doing a warm up like this may be a bit much to start with. Try some shorter, more mid-range dynamic airflow exercises to see how your vocal folds are adducting, then take it from there. Without any further ado at 0:43 😉 Thanks Jeff! 🐯

It's really just for fun!
could you make a video for low altos? like the classical contralto?
My 'alto' videos are in the contralto range according to Richard Miller. I don't always go down as low as is possible, however.
First! Cool cover photo! Cheers! :)
Nice one! Thank you! I'm trying to up my thumbnail game!
I stopped singing when covid started, and now I can't seem to sing a scale. When I open my mouth to sing nothing comes out! What can I do?
