I currently have a 23 Ranger (US version) with the 2.3. I drive for work so already have 92,000 miles in it. Transmission has a few quirks but engine has had 0 problems. I perform the regular maintenance on it, no problems at all as of today.
I test drove 2024 Tacoma Limited with the IMAX Force engine and I test drove the 2024 Ford Ranger Lariat with a 2.7V-6. I purchased the Ford Ranger. It’s better in virtually every aspect; including performance, comfort and things you want a pickup to do. The 2nd generation 2.7 is an amazing engine.
I tried both a 24 ranger and a 24 tacoma out the same day. No comparison really. The Ranger just wins in every catagory including comfort. Interior is refined in the ranger, the tacoma was really blocky in the inside everything was square which wears on you when your in it for a bit. Hard to get in the tacoma, youd think toyota would fix that issue. Ive tried out all brand of midsize trucks. Thus new ranger is far superior than other brands. Although i will give the new Nissan Frontier a heads up, they would come in 2nd.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ward%27s_10_Best_Engines Looks like the 3.5L Hybrid V6 and the 5.0L V8 have won more awards than the 2.3... In addition to all of the other engines from other manufacturers that have won.
@@ravensfootball52 that’s why they don’t all look the same people have different tastes. I think the Ranger Raptor looks better and its truly a mid size truck
@@Sullivan09300 Ford has a tendency lately to put big screens in their vehicles without any physical climate controls. That's why I see it as a plus for the Ranger in general (not against the Tacoma).
I love the vertical screen. Large and integrated very well and seamlessly into the dash. It's a great design. Unlike that small or huge glued on tablet monstrosity aftertought the Tacoma has.
not sure how the interior looks more updated in the ford? maybe if you had a premium package tacoma youd have a better review. 14in screen, 360 camera, heated/cooled seats, acoustic glass, 45watt chargers, and digital rear view mirror.
I know. That's why I said at the end it's not a fair review and I want to get my hands on a better trimmed Tacoma in the future (with an automatic) for a proper review of it.
midsize eco dual twin pssy trucks... Experience? I would never drive one of those new gen pos, it what you see cucks or the abc community driving nowadays. If its not a v8 or diesel it shouldn't even be considered a truck! Paying double the price for half the quality of these new truck compared to the old one is absolutely baffling and just prove how dumb most people are. These manufacturers just toss in a big ipad screen and decrease the quality of every other part. Ford and Toyota both suck now and need to figure it out because all these new gens deserve to be rotting on lots.

I'll get the hybrid Tacoma next week so I hope it's at least better than this manual version.

Ride both and infind the tacoma way more fun and less cheap
coloado z71 at $45k here in the US, is a nice truck
I have yet to try it 😭
The problem is Tacoma got to big it looks about the same size the tundra was back in the early 2000
Yea, that's why I mentioned it at the start, mid-size trucks are no longer "mid-size" as they once were 2 decades ago.
Ford makes junk! My friends all have problems with their ford trans before a 100k!
Haven’t seen the Ranger, but the Tacoma material looks pretty cheap.
It feels that way on this trim. I'm curious to see the top spec trim and if it's similar or better.
Trust me the rager fell far more cheap . I ride it
So your the only one who doesn't know the 2.3 is one of the best engines made?

Tacoma at least looks good. The ranger has to be the worst looking mid size truck of them all

Put the twin turbo engine into Tacoma then we can talk.😂
It does have a commercial turbo...... Not a weak one
Hilux is diesel, try the Tacoma
Tacoma looks way better inside out. Also has better ride and handling not to mention, off-road.
too much plastic . Ride is no better and the ranger has beet the tacoma in most off td tests.
Tacoma interior is cluttered and design is awful not to mention cramped
nice reviews, as always! that Taco looks great but overall Ford is way better.
The ranger interior looks terrible with the vertical tablet in the middle.
But at least they kept physical climate controls
@@MGReviewsBlog taco has physical controls too....how is one a highlight and one isnt lol

14:56 - who did these conversions? 😂
Not conversions. Prices from the Canadian & American manufacturer websites (excluding fees & taxes)

@@MGReviewsBlog The ranger has won most tests against each other. The tacoma has had transmission problems and front diff problems.
Car shopping today… they want 39K (after serious haggling and dealership comparisons) for a base SR5 2x4… Going to buy a Ranger tomorrow.
Save your money get neither! Both dawgsheitttt
Speaking from experience?? What happened?
