      @@astrallegends How could Homeros have written anything? The guy was blind. Homeros (Homer) was an oral story teller (poet)
      The Iliad and Odyssey were first written down during the reign of Octavian (Augustus) during the Principate.

    • @poutsaorthia1406
      @poutsaorthia1406 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, Homer wrote the Iliad during 8th century b.c. And also, he got blind long after he wrote the two epic poems. Goddess Athena blinded him, after the goddess gave him the dilemma, if he prefers to sacrifice and burn his two great poems, or for the goddess to take his eye sight. Thinking without ego, he preferred to preserve his work for the common good of his people.

      I thought I must have missed heard the video! When it says "Plato's poem"... I feel like this channel gets a lot of names wrong and doesn't really care about the sources. But yeah The Iliad was already ancient by the time Plato existed I thought everyone knew that LOL

  • @trevorgnatzig6599
    @trevorgnatzig6599 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Plato wrote the analogy of the cave and I think something called "The Republic"... Homer wrote or at least his accredited with writing the EPIC poems known as The Iliad and odyssey documenting the Trojan wars and odysseus's return home to his wife. It is also the main authority on Greek mythology and the number one source of knowledge regarding the nature of Greek gods and goddesses! It was an ancient text by the time Plato was born.

Something that Zues was so impressed with that he laid his claim over him, which means Zues is the Greatest ruler because he learnt from the mistakes/error of his father Cronos whom crumbled to the fear of a prophecy. Homer, Iliad, Socrates & the other famously known /r recognised writers /historians of that time. This was a deliberate creation/fabrication of an entire history of the Roman Empire & a deliberate plot to mislead all the world of our true history. What exactly are they trying to hide.

    You realize that patroclus went to battle leading the mermaidens because Achilles refused to fight for Agamemnon after he stole his woman that he captured and married after sacking the shore village. He told his best friend to wear his armor but patroclus wasn't strong enough to wield his spear (as Spears were the main weapon of the Greeks, instead of swords as this suggests). Wearing his friend Achilles his armor he went into battle killing dozens of men before he finally fell at the hands of Hector. Hector new full well it was not Achilles that is very clear in the Iliad. The only time there's confusion about that is in the movie Troy. This is the worst retelling of The legend of Achilles ever. Is not only making up so many false things but also leaving out really important details that make the story and achilles special and interesting! I mean it literally spends a minute speaking truth and the rest lies and doesn't even have close to the whole truth in it. Of course I'm saying the truth based on the ancient text known as The Iliad which this video claims to reference. It's obvious that whoever made the video never read the text!

    Achilles, was, apart from being extraordinarily blessed with tamely for warfare, he was extremely lucky to have lived through all the battles to sufficiently harden and train him and build his legend, prior to his fall at Troy. I do not see any kind of special help / intervention for the part of Achilles. He was an extraordinary man, but apart from that he was also mortal. His soul lineage though. This is interesting.

    The River Styx story has nothing to do with the Iliad who told you it did? Have you read the iliad? I've read two translations and neither of them discussed anything about his mother dipping him into a river which would have killed any mortal according to Greek mythology. In fact in The Iliad it says that Odysseus and other men as well were far far stronger than they were in today's age meaning the age of Homer when this was written, many many years before Plato was born.

    Pelias Achilles father existed in a time before Greece existed so he was not an ancient Greek king. The Iliad was already considered ancient in the time of Alexander the Great who immortalized the legend of Achilles in his day! Alexander was in like 500 BC and he wasn't Greek he was the first person to unify the Greek city-states into a single empire for a few years and after that there was no such thing as Greece again. The people of what we considered Greece today all spoke the same language but did not have a single ruler or philosophy holding them together only the fact that they lived on the Peloponnesian peninsula and could talk to each other without too much difficulty understanding one another's dialects. Jason of the Argonauts was an Argonaut. Odysseus was of Ithaca he was not of Greece. In fact The Iliad might have been the first and only real time the people we consider Greek United under a single banner into one army or at least almost did.
