@@NovationHelp I'm gratefull to found this video... The most difficult stages are always the first steps in our live... Please do more for those who are on their first steps... Thanks
Yes a great video when everything goes just as you show. I was able to record my drums and see the midi notes in the editor, but I when I tried to record the base after hitting record, I could not hear the bass and no midi notes showed up in the editor. I restarted LIVE and still I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Please help.
What do you do when you erase the midi notes in he editor so you can re-record and after you go through the same steps, nothing get recorded? Its just in play-back mode.
You'll need to re-arm the track in order to record again. As for the bass, are you also using the Launchkey or do you mean the actual instrument? If it's the latter, you'll have to adjust the gain settings for the bass. If you still need help, please reach out to us at bit.ly/NovationSupport.
I have a problem with my launkey 49 mk2. I can't make any sounds with it. I think it's because it can't connect to my laptop correctly. In medi i only see output but it cannot register any input....
Great video, so when i tried to record my guitar the track doesn t arm with my launchkey (25 keys mk2), i always need to do it with mouse (and when i do it y can record pressing the pad). I'm doing something wrong?
Afraid Launchkey [Mk2] doesn't have access to Audio Track Record Arm. That's something that will need to be selected in software. Here we're working with MIDI/Instruments tracks.
Please could someone to advise in the issue: no sound during recording by midi launchkey mk2, everything is working but when I begin to record there is no sound. Thanks
I've configured my setup exactly the same way as on video, however the keyboard is super quiet. How to fix that? When I click on sound from collections, it's played with normal volume. @NovationHelp could you help with that?
Sorry to hear that. Have you experimented with the different Velocity Curves that are available? This may fix the issue that you're experiencing. To suit different keyboard playing styles, Launchkey lets you select the relationship between key velocity (i.e., how hard you hit the keys) and volume. The relationship is called the velocity curve, and the default curve is NORMAL, which will be satisfactory for a great number of players. Three alternative velocity curves are available - Low, High and Fixed. To select an alternative curve, press and hold the top InControl button and press one of the transport buttons - Rewind = LOW Fast Forward = HIGH Stop = FIXED Play = NORMAL John // Novation UK 🇬🇧
So I bought my Launckey Mk2 (49keys) second hand. It was in great condition. Everything seems to work well, but for some reason the top and the bottom InControl keys are swapped. When I press the top InControl button, the bottom one lights up instead and the drumpads switch function. The same applies to the reverse, pressing the bottom InControl key for me seems to change the function of my knobs and turns the light for the top button on/off. Is there a way to fix this? It makes things very confusing.
What kind of thing did you have in mind? Afraid the MIDI CC values that the Launchkey [Mk2] controls output is fixed but you should find that you can use the MIDI Learn feature within your DAW to take control. Our more recent, Launchkey [Mk3] controllers feature dedicated Custom Modes that are fully customisable.
Hello dude... I also have launchkey 61... I have a problem.... When I map the buttons with the recording arm.. And when I press it.. It turn on and once I remove my hand after pressing it turns off... It does not continue to stay on .Can uh plz help me out?
I've had this thing for 4 years and haven't learned to use it. This was really helpful, thank you. What's the easiest way to learn to play the keys like that? Do we need to learn to play the piano first or will it just happen over time?
Glad it was helpful! It's always a good idea to take some basic piano lessons and learn about the technique, fingerings for things like scales, and basic harmonic theory. Of course, there are plenty examples of self-taught musicians out there, too. There are no wrong answers :)
The midi controller that I use is exactly the same, but the record arm cannot be used after mapping to buttons 1 to 8, when pressed and hold the arm record is active, when the button is released the arm record is not active. button unlocked. where did you go wrong?
Absolutely. A setup like this could be used for a live performance. Launchkey [Mk2] is a MIDI controller for Ableton Live and other programs such as Logic Pro and Cubase on Mac and Windows PC. Using an audio interface like a Scarlett Solo , as we have here, you could send the audio output from the computer to speakers.
