    Hey Issac - the "sticky shift" or as I usually refer to it as "shift lock" is there for compliance reasons, say for example you are a quadriplegic and are programming your beats with a stick in your mouth - this would allow you to use the shift key where otherwise you would be unable to use it. Just thought I would explain that - this feature is on other devices that use shift keys (including windows and mac os) to make life a little better for folks who are unable to use both hands / or fingers or what have you). Great job though - informative video!

    • @isaachorgan
      @isaachorgan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      oh yeah i totally understand why it exists, i just don't appreciate that it's not super clear. considering you use "shift+save" to get into the setup menu, it would make sense for a beginner to press "shift+save" to get back out, unintentionally activating this feature. thanks for your comment:)

    Hey Isaac, thanks a lot for the cool tips! I just ordered a circuit tracks and I ask myself if it is possible to chain pattern not in order? That is a cool feature on the old Circuit..

    • @isaachorgan
      @isaachorgan  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      hi, unfortunately patterns can only be chained in order, which is an unfortunate limitation. you can work around this using scenes, because although scenes do have to be chained in order, the order of scenes can be different to the order of patterns. (e.g. have pattern 8 in scene 1, pattern 7 in scene 2, etc, and then chain them)

    The view lock explanation is missing the fact that you can select the patterns that are being view locked (shown in white) by shift+tap on the target pattern :)
    It's worth mentioning about the "turn clockwise to reset to default values" that this (absolutely not mentioned in either the tracks or thythm manual btw...) unfortunately doesn't work for synth patches, clockwise and anticlockwise will both turn red and erase automation. Very unfortunate as this could be pretty useful...

    • @isaachorgan
      @isaachorgan  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      to be honest i don't have a great understanding of view lock, so i don't use it very much lol. thanks for the information!
      i also don't use automation very much, which would explain why i never noticed that limitation with the reset-values thing. definitely a big setback for some people tho! i wonder why they didn't include that feature in the manual...
      thanks for your feedback!

      yes there is a way to do that:

    hi isaac,
    Some professional questions
    I inserted a micro memory card
    - Is the memory card used only when the device is connected to the computer?
    - How can I record a project on it?
    -And how do I hear the recording on the card?
    Or is it only used to import external sounds?
    And how do I pull out the sounds on the card.
    How do I not overwrite or delete the existing projects on the device?
    Thanks.

    • @isaachorgan
      @isaachorgan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi! sorry for the late replies, i'm on holiday!
      here is a basic explanation:
      the circuit tracks can store 128 synth sounds, 64 samples, and 64 projects on it's internal storage. when you turn it on, all of this is loaded into RAM for immediate switching. if you want more than this, you would need to swap it over using a computer.
      if you have a micro memory card, the circuit tracks can store an entire "machine state" into one pack, which are stored on the card. each pack is accessed by pressing shift+projects.
      the card is not used to directly import sounds; you need to use the "novation components" software for importing sounds. the card is only used for storage within the device.
      if you want to create a backup of the projects on your circuit tracks, you will need the same software for this.
      to ensure you dont overwrite the existing projects, just make sure you always select a different project slot for your creations. if you want to be extra careful, use novation components to create a whole new pack. this way, you have 64 empty projects to use.
      thanks for all your questions:)
