    I think Chevy and your dealer dropped the ball on this. Cruise control is part of a 415 dollar package that also gives you a remote locking tailgate, rear defogger, sliding rear window, and cruise control.

      I agree. They (GM) literally have one of, if not the most advanced semi-autonomous driving aids currently available to consumers. Yet in most of GM's fleet, adaptive cruise control isn't standard. This is outright theft for not making basic cruise control standard. Most of the Koreans and Japanese brands have made adaptive cruise control standard. This is despite not having a more advanced semi-autonomous driving aid. They are spitting in our faces for not making basic control standard.

    New truck is cool. Not having cruise control would be a deal breaker for me. That blows my mind in 2023 that cruise control isn't standard. Just like A/C. It should be standard by now.

      It's all about paying attention. I feel the same about committee options on the GMC. What is free for the Colorado, you have to pay $495 for the Canyon. And then you have a forced Onstar subscription. They nickel and dime you.... because as consumers, we allowed it. We demanded fluff features and now get stuck with option packages.

    • @chrismarbrey9678

      I think it's the stinking chip shortage, making things like cruise control that should be standard optional to save on micro chips

      @robertryan7204 They're charging for every little thing. I Went to the build and price tool, and they were charging $40 just for a front license plate bracket.

    • @elche1976
      @elche1976 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Chris Marbrey stuff like that, I'm fine with. Not every state requires it. None of my vehicles have a front plate. So if they can lower the cost on items that people don't need and then charge those that want to add it, all good.
      I get why people are miffed about the cruise control. But it's a work truck. Many WTs are bought for city use and companies don't care about the cruise control function if its being driven in city and short distances. The Trail Boss is the bare essentials with the lift for off road use. If you want cruise control, and most private buyers do, it's a $375 fee in the package. I get why GM did it.
      Those who add everything on.... well... usually end up debating why they don't just get the Z71 or ZR2. Because that is what they are doing. It costs less for a reason.

    I like the Canyon AT4. In my opinion its what the trail boss should have been (a mix between the Z71 and Trail Boss). Even the Canyon Elevation is really nice but when you play with the configurator you notice that when you add the things you will want to the Elevation trim you are almost the same cost as the AT4.

    • @elche1976
      @elche1976 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is why the trims are where they are at. Some don't want the fluff and want the bare essentials while avoiding the cost. Once you add on the fluff... you're left with: why not just get the z71 or 7r2? Or in the case of the Elevation.... why not just get the At4x?

    I have the Hyundai BlueLink service on my 2020 Hyundai Kona. My complimentary 3 years of that service just came up for renewal. I was quoted $120 for both the BlueLink safety package and the remote start app (they are available a La carte if you don’t want both). That $120 price is a 40% discount for a year subscription. The app offers quite a bit and I keep BlueLink active as it will call for help in the event of an airbag deployment.

    One of the things I need to do is load a 13.7 ft. fishing kayak with a T tow extender in the bed. When I bought my new truck in 2017 I wanted a mid size truck with a long bed option as well as a crew cab. I ended up with a Colorado LT V6 4x4 crew cab long bed. I love almost everything about both of the new GM midsize trucks except the lack of a long bed. I have no desire to get another full size truck so if they don't plan to offer it it's a no go for me. The Tacoma and the Frontier both offer that option and we will see if Toyota still offers it on the new Tacoma when it comes out. I still really like my Colorado but when it comes time to replace it I will be looking for a long bed midsize truck.

Then dealership’s can refuse to fix your vehicle or charge you for the fix.

    I'm pretty sure that your going to have to go after market to install cruise control into your vehicle . From what I've done most fords where easy to install cruise control it was just install the switches into the steering wheel and then go to the computer and turn that feature on. Now a days they don't let us do that any more I've looked to see if the cruise control can be turned on but on the new trucks changes are that you may not be able to. Even though all the computer uses is just a signal from the switches and then the computer tells the vehicle to hold at what ever speed . But it sounds like your going to have to go old school and no cruise control

    Your Colorado is great the way it is. I think Mary Barra is going to hurt GM further with her decisions. Their prices are out of control too. Insane 60k for as top of the line Colorado/ Canyon. I already took a bath as a GM stockholder . Had to move on. I have had Denali's before in the SUV space...not sure why it makes sense in a pickup really.

    I have GM and Hyundai and after 1 month I had to start paying for the remote start service. That's just Unlock and lock and remote start thats it.
    Hyundai the app came and services came with the car and it's free. Don't have to pay a dime. And it shows you everything and let you do everything from gas to start to climate and set perimeters where the car and go and can't go. All of that.
    Also forgot to add. I can use my phone with NFC and it is basically the key. I don't have to have the actual key and use my phone and hold it to the handle and it will lock and unlock and once I get I'm put it in the wireless charger and the car starts.
    All FREE!

    The picture of the Colorado next to the Tacoma reminds me of a video where a guy had to put a stubby antenna on his 2nd gen Colorado because his garage has a low ceiling. I noticed that new condos have a tiny garage and now mid size trucks are getting a stock lift so will they fit in a modern garage with a low ceiling? My old vehicle had cruise control but when it stopped working I didn't get it fixed because it was a cheap car. Eventually I adapted to not having cruise control and don't even use it on my current vehicle. It may take a few weeks but you will become accustomed to driving without cruise control and then you won't even use it when you drive other vehicles.

    What happened to gm engineers telling you the turbo 4 would have pretty comparable economy to the diesel they dropped in favor of this engine? The truck looks great but you traded a full size, with tons of room, better towing, better fuel economy, and a generator. Not to mention cruise control, so I guess I am not understanding this except for the tfl aspect.

    I have a question for you guys. I have a 2021 ZR2. The exterior measurement says it is 72.5 inches. The 2023 AT4 ( which I just ordered) shows 79.80 inches height, but it is now measured from the top of the antenna….not the roofline. I added the 20 inch wheels, but how much taller ( or lower) is the 2023 AT4 when compared to the ZR2?? The ZR2 ( and AT4X) have a 3 inch lift kit, whereas the AT4 is only 2 inch.

    When they make vehicles nowadays, they normally throw all the wiring for every option in the car. You just don’t get a hard switches or whatever it may be. So chances are. Your Colorado already has the wiring and software.
