We need the Holy Spirit to help us see how the devil fools us humans with some version of "false compassion" to justify anything. What is evil is made to look like good, and what is good is made to look like evil. We really have to seek the Heart of Jesus to discern what is of God and what is not. This is the essence of spiritual blindness. The devil helps us to rationalize anything and everything.

Great teaching. I believe the problems we are experiencing usually begin with us and I look to past history for answers. Early Christianity was called the “Way.” Pagan cultures self destruct on disobedience to natural law. Hurting yourself and then others does not respect God. Everyone is created in His Image. We change the image and then have to live with it eternally. Christianity grew due to following the commandments of Jesus Christ with a clear tangible benefit spiritually and then physically . I always found it interesting Scripture describes Christ’s ministry as mainly rural and that he tried to stay away from urban centers until prophecy needed fulfillment.

The deception that puts people into the realm of darkness are those who cannot understand that they were once in their mother's womb like the baby that they are willing to sacrifice for the sake of their own personal freedom from responsibility. Both the mother and the father of the baby exercised their freedom when they chose to do what it takes to have a baby or not. After that the baby does not even share the mother's blood; he or she is separate from the mother even though it is dependent on the mother both prior to birth and after. It's not about the mother's rights (the right to kill her off-spring), or the father's. The baby is its own person as much as the mother herself moved from being in the womb to full adulthood outside of the wall of the uterus. Anyone who claims to follow Christ but is unwilling to deny self (Luke 9:23), are self-deceived and darkened in their minds. It seems that abortion is a manifestation of even the political divide which, in this case, is light versus darkness, selfishness versus caring love for others (the baby).

O Jesus, be mindful of Your own bitter Passion and do not permit the loss of souls redeemed at so dear a price of Your most precious Blood. O Jesus, when I consider the great price of Your Blood, I rejoice at its immensity, for one drop alone would have been enough for the salvation of all sinners. Although sin is an abyss of wickedness and ingratitude, the price paid for us can never be equalled. Therefore, let every soul trust in the Passion of the Lord, and place its hope in His mercy. God will not deny His mercy to anyone. Heaven and earth may change, but God's mercy will never be exhausted.
