      Great video content! Apologies for chiming in, I would love your opinion. Have you researched - Schallingora Increase Capability Scheme (do a google search)? It is an awesome exclusive guide for learning how to dunk like a total badass without the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my m8 after many years got great results with it.

    To be honest, it won’t help much with vertical. I been jumping rope for about 2 years. I didnt see much improvement with my vert but it did help improve my footwork, stamina and quickness which is equally important in basketball. Jumping speed & rate also increase a bit too.

    Hey, Adam, I am 16 and I play volleyball and can jump 10"2 but I need to do it consistently and have some trouble retaining correction and I would also like to thank you because I did your Vert Shock program and want to get better I also have question on what to eat and what not to eat to see if you can do a video on that I don't mean to push it that much it's just that I don't want to hinder my vertical jump when I go to these tournaments

    Hi Coach is there some amount of reps/sets that you recommend doing?

    • @ThincPROBasketball
      @ThincPROBasketball  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Vishal, we recommend only 3-5 min of rope per training session when you're starting up. You can do 30 sec on, 30 sec off. Or 60 sec on, 30 sec off. etc.

    pls do a video on the variations of skipping rope u do or do u just recommend the normal one and how long. 2sets of 5mins?

    • @ThincPROBasketball
      @ThincPROBasketball  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the beginning, it's most important to just start jumping and get in about 30 minutes per week (about 4 min per day). Start with normal two foot jumps, and as you get more confident and comfortable, try changing rhythm (speeding up and slowing down), hopping on one foot, hopping on one foot and switching feet, etc.

    Anybody got suggestions on, if it's good to jump rope with a weight vest on?

    • @ThincPROBasketball
      @ThincPROBasketball  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man! We haven't tested it, and I would suggest starting without wearing the vest, at least for the first week or two. You don't want to put too much strain on your muscle groups too quickly, or you run the risk of injury and / or fatigue!

    what about weight jump ropes

    • @ThincPROBasketball
      @ThincPROBasketball  7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Thanks man! Weighted ropes are great as well, they help build stability and strength in the upper body. However they are typically more difficult to use when getting started, and can be a bit more expensive. A simple, normal rope is perfectly fine to use!

    • @discowolf25
      @discowolf25 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A real weighted rope is GREAT for boxing, for vertical mm🤔 not as much. You better off with a normal cable rope and working up to at least double unders (triple obviously better) and controlling your jump movement. I.e don't be the guy with a speed rope doing double unders and unintentionally moving 20 feet across the floor. That being said once you able to control your upper body (no hinging at the hip unless it's intentional) then a weighted rope would be a nice change up!! Good luck man!!

    Why isn't jumping rope in the vert shock program?

    • @justafan4806
      @justafan4806 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Vertshock itself will get you amazing results even without the jump rope. You can just add it to your vertshock warm up

    • @ThincPROBasketball
      @ThincPROBasketball  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vert Shock focuses on explosive plyometric exercises for building strength. You can certainly add in Jump Rope, however, if you're doing it before your Vert Shock workout, I would limit yourself to only a few minutes to prime the muscle groups and prevent fatigue

    Hey I'm able to dunk easily on a 9'5" goal, but am only able to graze the rim on regulation height. Do you know why there is such a steep drop off? I figured if I was able to put the ball through the rim on 9'5" I could surely hang on 10.
    Any advice? Thanks.
