      Try backpedaling on a stationary bike or on your feet up and down the court! It will take some time but will help with balancing the muscles in your lower legs, reducing the pain from splints!

    I got this vertical jump method for my brother who is a sports nut and really wants to improve his vertical jump. He loves it and has found superb results following this programme. He is not someone who likes reading, so it gives me great delight to see him having this book around - dog-eared from being read over and over. I found this jump tip on Google. It is Julian Jumρosen
    Take care

      George, focus on back-pedaling on a stationary bike, or on your feet, up and down the basketball court. Keep this up for a week or two, you should see a difference

    I dunked on a 9'9" rim the other day. I have purchased the Vert program but can never fit it in between school and club practice. What workouts can I be doing on the daily to increase my leap that don't require over an hour?

    • @ThincPROBasketball
      @ThincPROBasketball  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erik, if you can't complete the full workout, half is better than nothing, but most likely you can expect half results! If you don't have the time to complete the full program, you can complete 3 workouts per week, or start up on the maintenance program that's included. Remember slow motion is better than no motion

    Hey coach, I thought you taught us to keep the knee stiff you're jumping of off in the one foot jump tutorial. So is this different in jumping of off either one or two feet?

    • @ThincPROBasketball
      @ThincPROBasketball  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Nathan! The two foot vertical jump is different than the one foot vertical jump and different mechanics must be applied.

    • @ThincPROBasketball

      Mustafa best results come from a mix of strength training, jump technique, and footwork

    • @ThincPROBasketball

      It is part of the process because you are really working those muscles. Make sure your technique is correct and you are jumping correctly as well. And make sure you are icing your knees

  • @spnhndz
    @spnhndz 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In all respect to you Adam, the truth about the Stretch Shortening Cycle is, that it's happens uncounsciously. The muscle spindles within the quads muscle detect the rapid stretch and send a signal to the spinal cord (happens unconsciously, and also much faster than an athlete could consciously manage. For developing SSC man must doing special exercise like depth jumps etc.

    • @ThincPROBasketball
      @ThincPROBasketball  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is all true! The SSC does happen unconsciously and that is why we are able to fire those muscles faster and more aggressively than we could ever do consciously. But as mentioned in the video Adam went over activating (or triggering) the SSC by making it a point to aggressively load your vertical jump by pulling yourself down through your eccentric movement until the explosive isometric phase so that you maximize and trigger that SSC. The problem that a lot of novice athletes make is they simply fall towards the ground instead of aggressively pulling/throwing themselves down. Thanks for helping us clarify that point because you are 100% correct!
