Nice idea for a dessert but I’d want to tweak this a bit. Wish she’d explained why (mentioned twice)“‘We’ recommend frozen cherries…” Sure, it takes a little effort to pit fresh cherries, but they’re in season now! I’m not a fan of the artificial pink color. I wonder if one could omit the gelatin and instead maybe make a fresh cherry compote, amp up the cherry flavor with almond extract, cool it, and fold/swirl into the whipped cream... It’s “Paula’s” recipe so why does it call for whipped topping if she recommends fresh whipped cream lol? Also, I know it’s atypical in this day and age, but I wish she’d taken the time and made the crust go up the sides of the dish (per the recipe photo). Can never have too much crumb-crust and it’d be prettier since you could see it from the top!
