So far I have done the strawberry pie with cake mix, I had a pineapple cake mix and it went very well with the strawberries. And I also did the Mac n cheese with taco meat, we enjoyed it also. Bake a pound cake...me...heck no...I buy Entemans pound cake slice it use any summer fruit, pudding, cool whip and go to town..decorated different ways love the berries....fresh peaches etc. Sometimes if I have cookies left over I crush and sprinkle on top of cool whip. I LOVE Sara Lee, pound cake, so much,that it doesn't stay long in my home. Pound cake is a traditional cake,made with a pound of each ingredient. They are usually so rich, that, it is sliced about half inch or inch slices and usually can be kept about 2 days
This dessert is seriously good. Served it recently at a party and people wanted the recipe. It was awesome. I used Wal-Mart pound cake rather than Sara Lee and it was even better.
Because EACH ingredient use CV to be measured byvthe pond. 1 lb butter, 1 lb confectioners sugar, 1 lb cake flour, 1 lb eggs (about 6, depending on size of eggs). 1 tbsp vanilla. Now they measure everything. The more eggs the lighter and fluffier the cake becomes, just don't add to many.

Yum! This reminds of trifle, which the only difference is you sprinkle sherry over the pound cake before adding the other layers. So good either way.
My family makes it with flavoured jelly crystals dissolved in hot water and poured over the sponge instead of sherry
