What are some of your favorite recipes you created on the fly?
I like tomatoes on my salad, but for the past few years, I've been going with strawberries instead. I had just bought some, so I decided to try this recipe. [I cut the strawberries up a little smaller, and premixed in the glaze.] I have an idea that might "kick this up a notch" (as Emeril says :-)). Maybe consider adding another package of cream cheese and/or mix in some strawberry ice cream syrup to the cream cheese. I'm definitely going to try it. Thanks for all the videos! It really feels like you bring us in to your home, and we appreciate it.

I remember Shoney's Big Boy. There's one in Vidalia, GA I love when you sample the foods you make, because it brings back good memories. . I used to enjoy everything, but I am allergic to eggs, wheat, dairy, and sugar now. I can have strawberries. They look delicious. Thanks Paula.

Another delicious recipe Paula❣ I remember as well the Big Boy's here in Michigan. The one here in Saginaw has closed but there are others within the state still going strong. I have great memories of the strawberry pie and the hot fudge cake😋 Me and my husband would have a craving and go to the Big Boy and share a hot fudge cake. My mama made one often, had vanilla wafers on the bottom, was super simple.

I really love this recipe - in general all your recipes. I am German and here in Germany most of the recipes are a bit complicated. This is fine with me because I love cooking but the issue is that they are also quite time consuming. There are situations when you do not have the time for this but want to have homemade food nevertheless. Therefore I love your recipes because they look great, taste great and are quick and easy to do. It proves that cooking/baking does not always have to take a lot of time.

Raspberry pies are Delicious
We still had a Shoney's in my town until about 2 months ago. It sold out to a local family. There are a couple more within a short drive of me, so they are still around, at least in my part of Virginia. This looks so good. I love strawberries! Hope ya'll had a wonderful 4th of July! You could cut strawberries add white sugar leave at room temp to develop a compote to poor over. Also add sliced strawberries for easy to eat! ❤

Paula, wanted to tell you that Driscolls strawberries are THE BEST! They are endorsed by Justin Timberlake. He has a comnercial out. Ive been getting those for about 3 years or so. Never a bad strawberry. So sweet and so good!!!

My first job at a high school was being a hostess at big boy and part of that included making the pies. I would make strawberry pies every day, and we would put the strawberries in the crust, and then, for the glaze out of a huge container we did not make the glaze in Aus, but it was delicious.
Sometimes those what do I have in the cabinet and fridge, what can I throw together recipes are the best!

I think the cream cheese with the brown sugar would be gritty.
I would use vanilla ice cream. Make it more of a ice box pie

It was the Hot fudge cake! Yes the is a Shoney's in Tifton Ga. I worked at the Shoney's in Cordele Ga for 25 years. Ours closed in 1998 in Cordele.
I'll bet that would be good with raspberries too. I remember my grandma making a strawberry pie, but it was baked like an apple or peach pie, and lost some of that strawberry goodness in the baking. Fresh strawberries are best.

We have a couple great Pie/Cafe's in Erie, Pennsylvania---is your ever there--ONE is in Lake City--it's an old train station/cafe called Kaboose Cafe. The other is called The Cakery(yummy homemade pies@@@!!!

Hi Paula, the pie looks delicious. However, your oversized glasses you wear are...just...to put it nicely, silly.
That is not put nicely at all. No one wants to be told they look silly, especially not from a total stranger.

The whole pie was a mess. Her whipped cream is never whipped enough so it has no body. Instead of it being a dollop like you see in tons of photos elsewhere, her cream just collapses.
