He's been the Padres MVP so far this season. No doubt about it. Where did this come from???
Wasn’t expecting to see my Ozzie pop up 😄 I’ve looked over the card closely and don’t see any major damage. The item description on eBay said “the surface has some scratches but otherwise in great condition”, and that does seem to be the case, so maybe they did crack the 8 🤷♂️ I’m leaning towards cracking, cleaning and seeing what PSA does with it on a number grade because I don’t like the AUTH either.
Awesome card! Keep us posted as to what you decide to do - guessing it’s not one of the new slabs, so probably easy to crack.
It's really crazy to think that Machado, Arenado, and Goldy are no longer locks for the HOF. They have a ton of work to do and all seem to be declining rapidly.
This is something I would NOT have guessed two months ago. I was expecting a big bounce back season from Machado at least. With a fully recovered elbow. He just can't find any consistency. But he does seem to be getting some hits at least, as he slowly climbs toward 3,000.
I think a lot about how insane that Bogaerts contract is in San Diego and how it will be an outrageous albatross eventually, and now it looks almost like one ALREADY! Will Machado's extension suffer the same fate????

It’s weird that Acuna & Julio are struggling in very very similar regards… Striking out at an unprecedented rate….
Especially after last year! Acuna took a huge step forward in that department.

Tangible assets imo and I include art, furniture, coins and ball cards, will never break through to being mainstream investments. Not enough money for the feds to regulate other than tax liability aspect. Too much shenanigans every which way to be taken seriously. And perhaps most importantly liquidity is an issue that can not be overcome. Within reason legit breakers, various brokers along the distribution chain and manufacturers, and tpg shouldn't be denied an honest living. Beyond that it is a hobby and should remain so. If one has more than 5% of their net worth in cards and it is not one's business, one is playing with fire. Keep it honest and buy and sell with integrity - of course. Banking on 10x the current situation, expecting celebs to get heavily involved fuhgeddaboutit won't happen. I was and still am involved in coins, not bullion, rare coins. Dealt to celebs, some are on record as collectors. They talk about how there is no real interest from others. A hobby is a hobby for a reason. No one wants to throw money away but it is a hobby. Keep it safe. Don't get carried away.

You mean the crazy delay/old pictures? Yeah, makes sense, but as you said, they HAVE to adjust and be better
There are also some on card autos in Topps Chrome Update. Most are stickers but there are some on card. It just CANNOT take this long.
Do you all the think Flagship SSP’s are good buys for players in 2022? I can’t really gauge if they’re solid like years prior
If the image is good, the card is good. Chris here - I love the Torkelson image especially. With Cabrera, great idea.

The year Baines got in is the year I stopped caring about the hall of fame. its been all downhill from there. I remember watching baseballs just bounce off Baylors arms like nothing and hed just trot down to first lol
Chris here - yeah i get that. That induction could hve been used to lower the bar entirely. Next couple veterans committee votes have been a lot better. Maybe even an over correction in a couple instances.

The cole ragans makes no sense, his actual rookie card in 23 chrome update is in a rangers jersey but the auto is in KC?? Lol makes no sense. Also- platinum is trash. Every other card is numbered so who cares.

Chris here - I think there are some cards mixed in with all the new garbage that can hold value over time. But the percentage is dropping rapidly, and the odds of finding one are increasingly impossible.
