Ever wondered what it was like driving a semi truck in a large metropolitan city like NYC? Come alone on this ride as I show you what it’s like driving a large semi truck through the city. NYC is notoriously know for having some of the most worst drivers on earth. They will cut you off with no warning!

I got my Cdl 8 months ago And I’ve been driving a cement mixer but watching you makes me want to work for a company and when the industry gets better go out start my business and get my truck, you’re an inspiration marv happy holidays!
Just work otr; choose wisely
Stay away from the mega carriers.
@@6lemans10 why, i was thinking of going with mega carier caus they pay for cdl school etc i'm broke, what you recommend
YOOOOO IM IN A MIXER TOOO
Enjoyed the ride along. Had me yelling at people from the couch🤣. Need more of these.
😂😂😂
Excellent work Marv. I know the area well. My husband was a truck driver, he could drive Marv, like no man. I did worry when he had the run from Maine to anywhere in Jersey or Delaware etc. just that route I saw today with you, was worrisome to me (all worrisome but you get my point). You can drive too. My husband passed away just a few years ago. It’s Christmas Eve, I miss him deeply but your video reminded me there is a season for everything. He loved trucking.😊 May you always be blessed in your travels😊
As a driver we don’t bully intentionally but we have to move with intent. ❤❤

Good content.. worst place for any trucker to drive.. these New Yorkers ain’t got no patience.. now I see why they say the gwb is the busiest in the world . Pure madness
It is absolute madness. Got stuck in traffic driving the truck thru there and there was some random guy in the middle dancing.
@@truckerdelz1560 when I'm in n.y.c I drive just like them "'. Makes them nervous".

Would love to see a long form edit of a long distance drive, with views and such. Edit and time lapse and such. Also would love a tour of your rig.
Keep it up man and stay safe out there 🇺🇸
I got you! I pay attention to my comment section and take notes. I'll definitely do one of those videos. For now, check out my day in the life video.
@@presy_jay awesome, looking forward to it man 😎🤜🤛
Thanks Marv for taking us along!
Just love those pipes...there's a Peterbilt with my name on it that my daddy drove back early 80's..some of my best memories. He retired a car hauler straight to his John Deere. I miss him dearly. Love your video's ..God bless you during your travels & your family
Love the content your 1 hell of a good driver stay up.
And I thought Cali traffic with a semi was bad enough, this looks stressful man hahaha
19:05 the speed up and the engine sounds Very beautiful i love it.

Ny is easy to navigate once you learn your way I remember the first time I went into Brooklyn in 1981 was very scary lol my friend safe travels merry Christmas to you and family ✌🏾
Thanks and same to you. God bless! 🫡
YOOOOOOO THATS INSANE KING. I AM SO ANNOYED AT THE FORD 350 VANS AND THE 4 CARS THAT BLOCKED YOU.

I love American trucks, hearing the big engine when pressing on the gas pedal and the design of the cabin is just cool!
That's my favorite type of truck, the Optimus prime looking one's they're huge ASF ❤
i'm glad u clarified about the clutch and traffic because i always thought it's a pain in the ass to keep pushing and letting go of the clutch, i never drove a manual in traffic, thanks for the info 👍🏾
If I'm in stopped traffic, yes. But as long as the wheel is moving 2+ mph, it's not that bad.
I don’t miss that at all. I use to be in the city twice a day everyday. Now I don’t do the city at all. Stay safe out there!!
Nice video man good POV , nice content ! Hope i see more like this and ofc nice Manual Classic ! Have a good one !
@@archiy_thepolice appreciate it. Plenty of content up. Go browse my channel.
You must have patience while driving in NYC especially the Bronx where the drivers are horrible. After 55 years I had enough, good driving and good luck to you, enjoyed your video.
I really like watching this video, you somehow "raise morale" in the crazy traffic in New York.
@@andrewtrovao2397 appreciate the watch
Thanks for the ride along Mr. Marv! God bless, stay safe my brother!
Dude I live righttttt there. This is one of the worst areas. You explained the traffic flow perfectly sir! Props on being a smart driver amongst the idiots out here.
Need guardrail in that spot hate when ppl do that sh//. I had a very close call last week basically like what they were doing in the first few minutes of the video. I was on the off ramp, and van comes up on the left. Then they Decided to cut in front of me they almost hit the concrete divider (mustve had road work recently) because the ramp curved off few seconds before then they stomped on the brakes spun out. I was driving an empty trailer so that made it more fun but i seen it happening before it did so i downshifted and got on the breaks and got to the right and then it happened i was watching my convex and man i thought my rears were going over the hood but got lucky. The dumb ass had 3 kids in the car. I just want to say man some good trainers out there i remember mine telling me if your on the merge/off ramp and match speeds with someone on the interstates slow down prepair because odds are they missed the turn. if werent for those words i fear the outcome of that. Stay safe guys
Love your videos man. Keep up the good work 👍
Appreciate you Ashton!
@@presy_jay of course 😁
hello mr marv ...watching from the 254....can you please share a video on how you got into the trucking industry, the journey upto to now that you are an owner operator...your content is really inspiring big up💪
I will. I was actually thinking about doing that video. Thanks for reminding me. Will be an inspiring video for many.
@@presy_jaywhen is the best time to go thru ny/nj if it is a best time to go through
Great vid! I'll be taking that ride later today!
Be safe
As a heavy tow, we appreciate you bud. And the 35 ton picking up Amazon 🤪
Just watching this video drives me nuts! These four wheelers and their knucklehead manuevers. No consideration for what other people are trying to do. Good luck man.
That's NYC in a nutshell... everyone for themselves!
@@presy_jayI'm a local tractor trailer driver in Virginia, and I piss about the northern Virginia traffic.
I used to drive the GWB as a 4-wheeler, years ago. I HATED it! But looking at it from YOUR point of view is eye-opening!
Wow! Great view and narration! Felt like I was actually in the truck.👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 🫡
Awesome!!! Used to go with my Dad every summer!! From I was in diapers till I was 15 been to 42 states... such great drivers in California😂🤣🙄 lol have a safe trip!! What year is your Peterbilt..You learned to shift a 5 And a 4 twin shifters those r pretty rare😎😎
Just in the first couple minutes you taught me to things patient driving and I never thought Of this but have a taller vehicle in front
In a truck like this, you don't see those tiny cars directly in front of you.
Left lane all day on the cross bronx. Usually avoid 87 because of that merge. Great video!
Can you ask your mechanic at the shop does he know a good mechanic in Maryland for diesel truck repair thanks
I remember this ride it was my first time going into the Bronx, you talk about pure panic.
This makes me miss my 16' Glider Coronado. Gave it up in mid 2020, was a lease truck. If i ever get back into the fold, thats the ONLY rig i want. Be safe on these unfriendly roads driver! 🙏🏾 🫡
Merging from 475 east to 75 north in ohio is a pain in the ass too. Luckily i do it at night so not too bad but daytime 😮
No way. As one of the 4 wheel drivers I always let you guys pass and leave room to merge. Hardest traffic I’ve had and only in a small car was Pittsburgh traffic.
Folks gotta know you big fellas keep the country running. Very much appreciation for what you do. Not everyone’s cut out for it, I’d have probably had a panic attack from the start.

You're correct them container haulers will run you over in the ports when your trying to back into a dock

They banned trucks from the lower level after 9/11. The original engineers never planned for that merge to work that way but it is what it is now.
I honestly hate that part every time I have to take the GW, like you said it’s hard to see cars I drive a KW w900
GREAT RIDE BRO!!! LET'S GOOOO!!!
Back in the day,my stretched out KW...three signal flashes means 'Im coming over' ya best not be there!
$110.00 to cross the GW in a 5 axle, +26.00 for every extra axle. Around $265.00 from the Baltimore tunnel, into NY City. 186 miles. Driving by the mile you can't charge enough. Tolls, fuel and 3 mph.
It's tough out here sometimes, man. The tolls are rough on the pockets.
Great video sir. Keep it up.
Keep trucking Big Son 💯
I remember visiting New York for the first time , driving there is not for the weak 💀 literally crazy just thinking about driving a semi thru traffic there, the patience you got to have
7:05 gotta get one of those steel bullbars for the front of your truck, lol.
😁😁
Driving trucks in NYC in the 1971 back when the fuel tanks had steps built in to the tank you knew you were in a bad areas when those fuel tanks had sheet metal mounted over the steps so no one could climb up on your cab.
i came home from work and just loved watching your video while eating my food
Appreciate it! Glad you're enjoying my content.
Worked in the trucking industry for a bit fixing trucks. This is definitely a different point of view. Stay safe
Truck sounds real good brother. Safe travels out there.
Kudos to you man i hate driving nyc ill keep my country ass doin farm pick ups in the styxs closest i get to nyc anymore is Albany to drop off to the agrimark lovin the videos
Once again, enjoyed the ride. Keep safe out there.
Much respect I refuse to come to New York City area unless I’m getting $500 extra.I normally make deliveries for tradeshow at Jarvis or GlassHouse in Manhattan after few trips it’s cool people are courteous seriously and it’s not to bad just have to be fully AWAKE
Sounds like a cool gig!
That merging was crazy
19:05 makes me smile so much ahaha. I can't wait. Just passed my first set of tests today.
One good driv,ah ya are bro love hearing them horns. You know were to go to get that rig washed right? My house don't forget first wash is free.🤙🏻✌🏻🎅❄

Had to do this for the first time earlier this week. Not my favorite
I know this spot well, inbound and outbound several times a week.
I’m usually rolling through between 1-3am though. This is definitely a different perspective 😅
Hi. I've driven for 9 years, but always wondered what the advantages are of having a tall stick shifter. Never drove one before. Mostly 18 speed Eaton trans with the stock stick. From the outside looking in, I always thought the super tall stick looks silly, so I imagine there has to be a benefit I don't see. Because it certainly doesn't look cool. ;) imo anyways.
Really nice truck though. Looks comfy to drive. Keep up the hard work, man!
@UTubeJunky Contrary to a lot of beliefs, it's 10 times more comfortable with the extended shift. It's much easier and smoother to shift. The gears are closer.
@@presy_jay I always wondered. Thanks for confirming some reasons I speculated on.
During my last job my wrist began to show symptoms of carpal tunnel. Hurt to do push-ups or anything related to my right wrist. This started happening after I got a brand new Kenworth 880. 2023 model. The transmission is so tight that it started to mess my wrist up. I did a lot of city driving (delivering fuel to local gas stations in fuel tankers) which makes it worse because of the additional repetitiveness of shifting. I could see having an extended shifter relieving some the stress on my wrist.
Stay safe out there!
9 months on TH-cam, and you already have 185,000 subs! That's awesome!
It's a blessing 🙌🏽
I'm super grateful for all the people who made this possible.
Beautiful truck
I always wonder why cars use the truck lanes on the turnpike, is there a good reason?
@@ralphripoff1 just cars being cars. Less traffic on the truck side.
Ny 4 wheelers don't fear big rigs or their horns they have one mission to get in even if they don't fit in.
The sound of this truck is music to my ears
Kinda like a downhill off the gw into jersey running fast . This video 📹 is essential for all nubies.
What wireless cam is that? Is it the garmin?
I get tired driving truck out there
I can’t do it every day
Good luck bro 👍👍
Apparently, it's not just the traffic in my city São Paulo - Brazil that's complicated, but New York is also very crazy.
How did ya stop ya self not just tapping um at 2+mph for cutting ya up that blue van would have been a pretzel with a love tap. 🤣 safe travels and happy holidays
Greetings from Canada
That is brutal over there. I don`t know how people can drive like that.
Something special driving a big truck in cities. Really fun to be in the narrow lanes, not that it's preferrable.
That’s how they roll in NYC, it’s madness, lots of bad drivers in the north east
For the camera comment at 13:52 I think you could use audio from the inside camera and then just mute the outside cam. Also allowing you to talk.
I saw this wind slayer on Amazon. Gonna give it a shot.
The perfect viewpoint. Just like my view in ATS :) If only you could as well, go into options, turn NO damage on, and cops off...then...
You cross the GWB into Jersey, and the traffic evaporates.
I love you truck I’m 25 I hope some day I can do what you do
Man, I would love to ride in that truck. That's beautiful, man!
I’ll be up there tonight bro. Not looking forward to it lol
