Hello I’d love this so much we have a permaculture farm of 7 years and I’ve done my cert 3 days n permaculture I’d love the pic so much I have been looking at it and cannot afford it I would treasure it so much
Buttercup - what he's saying about being scared is exactly where I'm at. Running the rat race in a job I stopped caring about years ago, constantly worrying about not having enough to retire, weekends being too short to even catch my breath. Ironically, my mom brought me an extra tomato plant a few months ago, which launched me head first into gardening. It's made me completely reevaluate my life situation. Making plans to quit my job by year's end, simplify and downsize my life, and move towards greater self sufficiency. Also, this guy is doing something right... he looks at least 15-20 years younger than he is.
Fear, and love for life led me in the same direction several years ago. There's up and downs in this journey as well but somewhere along the way you'll look back and be glad you made the decisions you are making. Bless you and best of luck 🙏🏼✨ 🌎🌍🌏🕊️ For all of us 💞
My wife and I sold the house and dropped out of the rat race. We travelled for nearly 2 years with our kids till we found where we want to be. In some way, give yourself the time, space and permission to explore and reflect. I have so far to go but as Jeff said, it is exciting
Buttercup is her name! What a beautiful moment milking and resting your head against her. Thank you for your words Geoff and Weedy - to enjoy the journey, be brave and not be boring! We are in the process of moving toward our own permaculture farm, so thank you for the encouragement!
Buttercup I dont have a pdc but I am a farmers daughter from scotland and have followed permaculture for years. I live in greece on a small area of land and am struggling with permaculture due to lack of water. All the rest I understand Give me a hand please. Greece is well behind on all these concept's We need to do something!!!!
I did a PDC through Geoff when he came to South Africa. It changed my life. Through Geoff I have managed to install some school gardens. I’m currently busy with a zone 1 food garden at a childrens home. It looks amazing! He has changed my life and I will change others lives because of permaculture
Buttermilk 💚 just resigned from my job and looking to "join the revolution deguised as gardening' and dive deep into permaculture! Tossing up which PDC to study I hope this is the one for me 🙏 blessings
Buttercup! Just turned 60 and still want to get my PDC!! I lived out near Thomas for many years and bought his calendars off him. Now I’m in the UK,. Thank you for your wonderful videos, just hearing the birds, frogs and insects and seeing the gorgeous gum trees makes me happy! Blessings
What can I say, 55 and still thinking of starting my permaculture course. How inspiring and calming this man is thank you for bringing him once again to our screens Weedy. My partner and I have just bought one of your wonderful art pieces and patiently await our chances on receiving Jeffs personal garden design. Our humble 900 square block has just started it's journey as we both indulge into the wonderful world of self efficiency up here in Brisbane. Compost has been started as we start to sow our Acacia and sit with a cup of coffee observing and putting pen to paper. How special it is to once again see those frosty mornings down on the Northern rivers. 🙏
Hey, I’m intrigued about the “sow our acacia” bit. Sounds like you’re growing a lot of them. What type of acacia is it? Are you growing them as pioneer plants for a food forest or a hedge/windbreak? Something else? I don’t know why, but I’m just really curious! Greetings from down here in Melbourne : )
@@s-c.. Acacia fasciculifera, Acacia fimbriata and Acacia leiocalyx. Yes they are for pioneer growth and to feed our fruit trees. Our block is very compacted and bare with little to no topsoil so by using the chop and drop method to establish some form of humus to protect the fruit trees we have invested into. We are hugely into recycling so the local council Curbside throwouts up here have provided us with many materials to build structures and containers to start work on our kitchen garden to bring some form of produce. We have it in mind to build a chicken pen and section off areas for free range to provide nutrients and weed control. Being that we are over 900 square Brisbane council allows 10 chickens which is ample to produce many anual cubes of compost. We also want to incorporate ducks and quail in time. I have a system of bathtubs that we will mount behind each citrus tree as we are on a slight elevation the excess worm juice will continually provide each tree with its nutrient needs. Any excess of food, worm compost and juice will hopefully be sold and used to buy any dietary needs of our animals. It is all a process and with a large help from mother nature and our local community we can see a future of less carbon impact and hopefully be able to educate and influence those nearby. P.S I so miss the eateries and coffee down in Melbourne ;)
@@cheezy1969 Thanks for such a great reply! I love the citrus bathtub idea. The possums degloved practically every lemon we had last season, hope you’re having better luck! It’s so much fun creating a new garden & you sound like you have the beginnings of something wonderful, especially with the SEQ climate! It’s a bit of a “world’s your oyster” time for you, so best of luck with the big competition!

Buttercup!…I definitely commit to going all the way through the course if I win! 🤞.. Also , how amazing is Geoff for 70 years old. Love it! I hope to be just like that when I’m 70 and older. A great example of how to live
Buttercup. Thank you for a beautiful visit with you, David & Geoff at his property. So tickled Geoff shared he is not ready to stop teaching! Happily studying / applying for many years & using my small property to share the joy & teach. Geoff Lawton's permaculture course would make a world of difference in what we can share with the world. Greetings from Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA. Big Weedy fan! ❤
What an amazing story about the cat Salah with frost on his fur, doing his job. I totally relate to the story of no longer living the boring life in fear. I resettled from the hugely overpopulated West Coast of the Netherlands to Eastern Germany, on my own, to teach English at high school in a village. I did it so that I could live in nature, with country fairs and baking sourdough bread by old tradition, picking wild apples from orchards several generations old and forgotten, listening to the crazy little song sequences the blackbird makes, that sound like versions of R2D2 at his best. I am still scared. But I can do it. Next will be a small house with a garden, somewhere near here, where I can start raising plants. I already have thirty pots on my rooftop terrace. Things must start somewhere, and I'm so grateful for what I have so far. Thanks for your wonderful videos and the healing sound of your voice which helps me thru a lot of rough patches. Thank you.
You are doing it. Fear NOT! Focus on the positives. Celebrate the wins. Grow some of your own food, eat it and keep taking good care of yourself 💞 🌎🌍🌏🕊️ For all of us 🙏🏼✨
What a lovely video David. I purchased Bill Mollisons book and have read bits and pieces of it. My gardening journey started in 2020 when Covid arrived. Through watching your channel and a couple of other Australian ones have learned to make my journey better. To watch what the weedy garden started from to today is truly amazing. Currently studying Horticulture Cert 3 and the next plan is a permaculture course. I have a tip for you for a dog get a Dachshund or Jack Russell best mousers around and they would definitely keep Mr bush turkey on his or hers toes. But your location is known as turkey country. It was a pleasure to meet Buttercup, house cows have the best nature.
"Buttercup" - very nice girl. We had one of our Jersey housecows with the same name growing up. We always had 5 or 6 housecows ( 3x Jerseys, 1x Friesian and 1or 2x Jersey/Friesian cross.). I lost my beautiful old girl Molly (Jersey) 5 years ago 💔😫😢 She was enjoying retirement, she'd earnt it, wonderful old girl. One day when I can afford it, I'll get another. I would love to find out more about making biogas with livestock. I would love to do my PDC but like many, unable to due to extreme financial pressures. Good luck to everyone. Thanks Weedy, thanks Geoff 😁👍😁👍
Buttercup 🐮 what a cutie. I’m on 3 1/2 acres in Kandanga and I’m on my permaculture journey and would love to go into the draw ☺️ thanks for everything you do it’s greatly appreciated ❤

Buttercup! I love my jersey Miss Honey. I would be so blessed to be able to take the online course. I’m so passionate but lack the funds. I would love to gain the knowledge to be able to teach and pass on to others in my community. I found the talk about being scared and bored so inspiring. I hope to live a life worth living.
buttercup baby! I would love to complete this course online sitting on the other side of the world in South Africa. I'm trying to convert my garden into an urban permaculture oasis. Love the videos Weedy!
Buttercup is the name of this wonderful milk giving beast! I'd love to win the course - I'm nearing my redundancy date in a corporate job, the type of job that gives me the exact same fear and anxiety each day that Geoff described in the video. I believe this would help me find a new path and meaning. Thank you Weedy.
Fabulous video and prize! My permaculture journey is only just beginning. I am scared too! But this way resonates so strongly with me. I must follow where the energy is flowing. The cow's name is Buttercup!
Buttercup the cow. Hi, I live in South Otago, New Zealand and it is currently 8 degrees and raining. I started my own permaculture life 5 years ago on my ¼ acre section and have 35 fruit trees planted so far. The best time to plant a fruit tree is 7 years ago.
Dang Geoff, explaining my feelings spot on there 7:30 timestamp. I'm saving my pennies. Hopefully only a few more years. Until then what used to be a yard has become a permaculture yarden. The next home owners will just have to deal with it... it's my practice template to learn and play with until that day is here. Cheers to those who have, those who will, and those who yern! And to Buttercup.
Buttercup! I would love to do this course. I’ve been interested in Permaculture since the 70s and even have Bill Mortison’s original book! It’s been a long time dream and only now that my husband is going to retire soon have we bought our little block in the South West of Western Australia.
Hi, the name of Geoff's cow is Buttercup! She must be a Jersey to have such a beautiful, back to basics name. Nature gives live and if you have the ability and the know how to, to incorporate it into your dayly life your are blessed. You guys are great examples! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience about Permaculture! It seems to me it is a lifestyle of getting back to your roots.
Buttercup I've been recently facing my fears and anxieties. I've been waiting for my chance to jump on something big and exciting, a chance to chase my dreams and I've been following Geoff Lawton for well over 6 years now. I'm turning 27 this year and one of my biggest passions is Permaculture. I've been stuck apartment and couch hopping for the last 3 years since I left my parent's home. Trying to find my calling and in the last few months so much in my life has changed and I've grown so much. It feels like life has been preparing me to finally take my destiny by the reigns. ever since I was 13 I fell in love with Aquaponics and what it can do for the world, for our future. Since i discovered permaculture when I was around 18 I was imagining all the countless ways I could combine the two. I've been inspired by the many forms used throughout history, combining aquaculture and agriculture, like Chinampas and Rice Paddies; now to the more modern massive greenhouses dedicated to pumping out produce with hydroponics as the usual method. although I respect Hydroponics and understand it's place, I feel like it's missing out on a lot of production potential in smaller systems. I would love the opportunity to learn from a master such as Geoff, who I never knew was 70! (he looks like he's in his 50s!), whose been a massive inspiration for me for years and will be for the rest of my life!
Buttercup is the cows name! Thanks for such a brilliant and heartwarming video! So inspired to check out of the system and start my own food forest in QLD. Lucky for me I have a property already and just need to take the leap. Hearing Geoff’s thoughts on that was just what I needed to hear! Geronimoooooo!! 😂
Buttercup! I would love to take this course and bring the knowledge up here in Sweden :-) Recently started my first food forest and to see it grow is one of the most satisfying things I have ever witnessed.... Ok, my kids may come in first place :-P
Cows name is buttercup, I'm from the Philippines and very much interested in perma culture. I love watching yours and Geoff's videos, learned a lot from them and still am..thank you for sharing inspiring all of us....🙂✌️❤️
So insightful Geoff. You’ve hit the nail on the head with your description of being scared and wanting to get out of the rat race and providing our own food for our families. Have had a veggie garden for a few years but want to upgrade to my own food Forest! Would greatly enjoy learning from you with the PDC 🙏 would also love to get a animals on my property too just like BUTTERCUP 🐮🐄 thanks Weedy for this opportunity! 😇🥰

Buttercup! Love the videos, keep it up Weedy 🌱
Buttercup is the name. What an interested watch thank you for sharing
Buttercup. She's lovely. And oh wow! That would help me immensely in teaching others!
Buttercup.. great episode!
The beautiful Buttercup. I really enjoyed this video 😍

It's named Buttercup. Super agree with the cat's thing, they are smart and beautiful predators!
I think that permaculture is so cool and would love to learn more.
Buttercup. Love to do the PDC
