What a wonderful gift. When he started to tear up, I did too. I'm in my 70's and my garden has run away on me too. I can't keep up and it hurts my heart. I know how he felt. We want to keep doing all of the things we did when we were younger but our bodies won't let us.
I was sick for 6 yrs and could not weed my garden. It was very difficult to get help to hand weed even when I wanted to pay. Now I'm well. I've started a gardening business where I do small garden maintenance for the elderly or sick at reasonable prices. I encourage them to come out and sit and watch or even help. I don't mow, I just weed and take away the trash. I want my clients to enjoy planting into their garden beds again. Keeping people at home and out in the garden instead of a nursing home is important to me.

There's a few gardens in my little town all taken care of by people older than me. None of the younger people do a garden. I am early 60s and my work takes too much time for me to garden and do it justice. I always hoped that by this age I would have a nice garden. I feel my time is running out. My kids and their families don't live near enough to assist me so I need to get one in shape before I get old. Thank you again!

I’m a welder but it won’t what I really want in my future. Looking to buy a little farm in Western Australia and keep my father’s tradition. This is what life is all about for me. These moments when you can do something for someone that has a huge impact on their quality of life in some way. Sometimes its small things like a phone call and a conversation, sometimes its a hug, sometimes its helping in some small way and sometimes its a very long commitment of making someone feel aupported and loved just by always being there. The end of this when Bill got emotiknal made me cry. And I know you wouldn’t have done it for recognition Weedy but thank you for spreading your kindness and love throughout the universe. The world is in desperate need of more of it!
I absolutely agree, the world is in dire need, I don't experience yet I have and remember vaguely though when I notice via postings or directly with a few random individuals and or a gathering of folks having those nurturing moments, I consume as much as I can to replenish my soul to press on.

People care for the win! I sometimes think that permaculture leans towards being a bit ableist, but this shows it doesn't have to be. We can change and adapt to the different phases of life. Especially when we have a community to help us out.

KNF and JADAM are some great gardening/farming methods that utilize whats already available in the land as sprays and natural fertilizes, cannot beat nature. Hardwood beds are the best! I recently sourced some local railway iron-bark hardwood sleepers and use them instead of modern treated stuff you find at bunnings at will decay in a few years. Was a pain to cut and drill though, these were much thicker than those and yet still half size of the full size railway sleepers. Great video as always.
