Every R/C car manufactured and brought to market is as good as its availability of spare-parts! You demonstrate that 3D-printing can be a solid part of the solution. Let the big manufacturers wake up and make the parts that happen to break so now and then available for 3D-printing by its customers. How cool would that be! Thanks and please keep up making these good videos!
I'd love it if manufactures would give away a 3d printable file for you to download and print your own replacement parts, but unfortunately they make a lot off of spare parts 😞 Waiting to get a new printer and I'll be doing more 3d printed parts, glad you liked the video dude 😀
Hello thanks for you video. I ve got a traxxas an I would buy a printer 3d for make a parts of the car. Can you say me what the printer can I buy? You make the part withs Pla? Thank you
Wow, highly appreciated, some real proof of the durability of 3D printed parts. What the bump into the tree considered.... sometimes it is better something breaks in order to save the rest.
I can yeah, I'd probably use Nylon if you are looking for longevity but I didn't have any problems the whole time making this video but I can't speak for how long they will last. Definitely a great cheap quick fix until new ones arrive haha
i know im bit late but pretty cool vid are u still printing have u tried spur gears whats the toughest plastic to use and whats the cad program, good to see a switched on fellow ozzy, subscribed
hey thanks mate :) printer is broken, i will do more when i upgrade it. the best material i have found would be nylon, great wear resistance for gears and its great for arms because it can bend slightly, its not too brittle. currently i just use fusion 360.
Pretty much dude, I'd say resin also can't do as large of prints. I'd say a regular filament printer is the way to go for a beginner and more practical applications
I forgot I posted this. I have obtained my printer and printed wheels last night. The resin wheels are sooo hard! Idk if I can wear them down, like drifting with rock tires. 😂 lmk if you want the file. 1/10
CAN YOU MAKE REAR ARMS FOR YOUR SLASH AND TEST? I NEED MOE TOE IN FROM THE REAR ON MY 2WD WIDE-SLASH AND THINK THAT 3D PRINTED REAR ARMS COULD DO THE TRICK!
@@insanerc9585 i would love to get a hold of them! I'll have apologies tonight, my problem is I want to bring out videos with new rc cars all the time but I can't afford that haha and my channel isn't big enough to be sent products for review lol but maybe one day!
Phantom rc already got it, but ill be trying to do a new code every week! Something different every time, although this time i won't be letting anyone know!

@@MatthewSimm I wish Tamiya had any philosophy on spare parts, but I assume they don't. What is an R/C car worth if you can't bash it so now and then?
What material exactly are u using to make these?
I have a slash, are your STL files available to download?
What time of filament are you using for the strong parts your making
Wish he reply, and help us out
Did you use ABS or PLA filaments
PLA 😀
What filament did you use?
Just PLA
I have am xmaxx can the wheel hubs be printed am so new to this I just started looking into it. am tired of hearing not in stock when I need them..
I guess you could print anything with the right material and if you are capable of modling to that level, I know I'm not personally

I like to ask i know hobbyking sabertooth 1/8 scale parts are no longer available do you make spare parts for customers

Hey thanks dude 😀 I agree, it's better to break the cheaper stuff first haha. I do plan on doing more 3d printed parts once I get a new printer haha
Did you just print them using pla? Or something stronger?
Just pla 😀
@@MatthewSimm that's amazing, I've heard from my buddy who prints that it's brittle, it easily brakes

Did you use ABS to print this or PLA?
PLA 😀 although ABS or even Nylon could be a great option
Abs is most used for this kind of parts but nylon would be more flexible if the part is not too big.
PLA is fine but use ABS its much more resistant and better than nylon wich is what they use in the making
Man keep up the good work, im diggin this channel!! Bring on the subs!!!
Cheers mate, appreciate it! 😁
GUYS! tomorrow she gets a 4s!
Also, what other parts do you want tested?
subscribe to stay up to date!
Sweet dude! So cool to make your own parts!
I can't make them all but its good to have some 3d printed back ups haha :)
What material and printer do you use?
Using pla and printing with a ender 3 pro. If you want something strong I'd recommend using nylon 😀

u were in the middle of nowhere in one vid i saw ,looked like desert,
Was that bam margera at the end?
You have my attention as soon as you said 3D RC parts.👍
Thanks dude 😀
This is exactly why I want a 3D printer!! Idk how to start looking. What’s a good one for a fair price that has a fair build deck
I'm looking now. Filament is ment to be stronger than the resin type. But resin in more accurate I believe as a complete noob
After using the ender I like that try the new v2 pro out 😀
Pretty much dude, I'd say resin also can't do as large of prints. I'd say a regular filament printer is the way to go for a beginner and more practical applications
@@MatthewSimm scx24 parts for me n my mate I think. I can get the std ender 3 in nz, should I get the new one as a noob,?

Just printed some myself in petg with 100% infill things are thick AF but be pretty much bomb proof 👌
Yeah they're super thick haha, it was my first time printing arms and wanted to made sure they were strong. I think I need a v2
@@MatthewSimm what material u print them from ?
If you're using ultimaker cura you can set your infill to 99.99 it will print quicker
Use nylon or tpu
Man I swear I get tricked every time😂, that fake slash looks so similar😂😂
Haha, its basically identical!
I want to find more like it but maybe a cope of something else!
@@MatthewSimm yeah there’s a couple cars out there that Kevin Talbots reviewed that kinda looks like the EREVO! 😂

@@MatthewSimm yup
Fantastic! Way to go! I’ve been looking for sct wheels to print (cheaper than buying every time the hex gets rounded).
Hey thanks mate 😀
I have a stock Ender 3 printer and print Taulman 910 nylon without issues
What is a 'fake' Traxxas Slash?
It's a Chinese copy of the slash.
@@OBS4ever16 yes, bright boy, I know what fake means. But what is an example of a Chinese copy of the slash?
Print drive shafts please! They are so pricey and break so often!!!
3d printed shafts would break much quicker! Try the Traxxas HD upgrade, I don't have a problem with those
Aye super Good information 👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍🔥😃 wow mate excellent job
Not sure if anyone got this but the first 10 digits of pi are 3.141592653

Haha 3d printing is awesome. Hope it works out
Thanks man :)
Excellent now we need to find out how much a 3D printer costs n make a whole rc what do u think? 😂
I've been contemplating designing and building a 3d printed rc car (at least 80% 3d printed)
@@MatthewSimm go for it pal it would be interesting indeed to see it being crafted
I'm making one and have nearly finished
If I could post a picture somewhere that would be awesome
@@MatthewSimm im working on a chassis design recently, hardest part is the build size my 3d printer is capable of, so now im thinking a modular design
