its taken me 5 months to get the position just right ( I have a wonky knee ) but in the end it was worth it , I use mtb shoes on my racer just because its easier to walk once I'm off the bike , cleats realy do make a difference on hills or just powering away on the flat

I'm just starting with SPD. 5 months seems like a lot of time (for things to go wring with knees etc.) so I'm curious - with the incorrect cleat setup was the pain or discomfort immediate during the ride, right after the ride or maybe accumulated over time?

roglius my knee was already a little painfull before I tried cleats but trying them for the 1st time made it worse , that's why it took such a long time ( and lots of tiny adjustments ) to ease that pain , although I have found that fittin some Q factor extenders in the last few months have cured the pain completely :)

    Superb! Brilliant video, thanks :-)
Just got myself a pair having been using mountain bike pedals for the last 20 years. And this explains what and how I need to do in order to get the correct set up.

Hi! I'm just starting with SPD so a quick questions - In case of a bad cleat setup would the pain or discomfort (anywhere - knee, hips etc.) be immediate during the ride, right after the ride or maybe accumulated over time? I had a great first ride, no pain, but I'm curious if that means I'm all set or if maybe there are things that would appear at a later time...

When yo take the cleats off the pedal to know the right position, the cleats will move because they are not thight
