    I went back and watched this video again because I just bought a used '19 Low Rider as my first Harley. The previous owner changed the bars to the mini apes that the Softail Standard has and I really like them. I also changed the mids to forward controls. Even though I'm 5'8", I still felt cramped. The forwards on this bike are a game changer. I also love the Wicked Cherry paint.

      Do you still have your bike? I ask because I recently bought a 19’ Low rider wicked cherry in Florence, SC.

    I love the fact you aren’t just a Harley fan. I’ve owned a bunch of bikes. They all have good and bad points. Love that the new Showa (Honda) suspension is working so well. Thanks for an unbiased perspective! Groms rule!

    The best hd, was almost at the same price than a street bob but classic looking and with a real tank, and Harley killed it...

    At close to the same price as the street bob I think this is the better option .

      Few hundred more for this vs Street Bob, I'm w/ you, I'd probably go Low Rider also 👍

      Larger fuel tank, analog, traditional gauges....I agree...a better value.

      I have a 2017 street bob and my dad has a 2017 low rider, the only difference is that my dad's has a tachometer and mine doesn't. Love em both but the low rider is the better buy for sure.

      Low rider would be my,choice but no 114 motor would like that

  • @larunaaxthemischievous9762
    @larunaaxthemischievous9762 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The interesting thing that people are saying about the 107 versus the 114 is that the 107 because it has a shorter stroke is much snappier than the 114 but the 114 has a much smoother but more prominent power delivery and many people think that the snappier 107 feels faster at first because of that

    Bought a 2019 low rider in midnight blue in Sept, put Cobra NH exhaust on it love the sound. Couldn't be happier with the bike, lots of power, great cruiser.

    • @Sam7x57

      I did exactly the same thing. Same color, same exhaust. Picked mine up at the end of August. Once I start riding I never want to stop.

    For those of you who do not like the stock "mid controls" you can get forward controls, that look stock off of either the 2019 Street Bob (pegs) or the 2019 Softtail Slim (running boards) if you do the stock mounts they will be black just like the frame, or order the ones out of the parts book that are chrome. After the mounts, brake lever, shift lever and linkage, the plug for the primary cover, pegs or floor boards you will be out a little over $500 depending on how out of control you went on the additional items over the mounts.

    If the bike you're giving away is a lowrider as an overseas Patron I'm not going to be eligible to get it. However, as I intend to get a Lowrider when I return to the UK in 2021 this is what I've got planned and I would be so made up if you also did some of this.
    1. Stage 3 with Bassani Black Radius Sweeper exhaust and fuelpak tuner.
    2. Blacked out everything. Powder coat the engine etc.
    3. Replace the bars with a blacked out set.
    4. Replace the instrument cluster with a blacked out set.
    5. Upgrade front brakes, if possible to a dual disc 4 piston set, if not possible then to a 6 pistion front set/
    6. LED turn signals front and rear and LED rear light.

    We know who the OG is champ. For those you can’t on TH-cam, copy the ones who can. Just know you got a strong community behind you, and the personality makes the channel. The fakes will fall, but the true OG’s will be standing in the end.
    Until next time OG,

    • @hollywood3881
      @hollywood3881 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Stephen Tillman I’m not going to say there names for the exact reason which you mentioned above, but there are a couple in which I have seen that you could clearly tell, and it was honestly just pathetic. But also the whole comment sections of a couple of those videos where people just going in on them, so like I said in my original post, the OG will stand in the end.

    • @MotoRickyRicardo
      @MotoRickyRicardo 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well I can respect that, also mentioning the name would probably start some unnecessary drama. I'm a fan of a few harley/street motovloggers and overtime everyones content seems to mesh but I cant say I've even seen any of them to bite eachothers ideas. Theres only so many ways to skin a cat, if and when I start doing test ride videos I'll look to the big channels for inspiration but always put my twist on it in the end.

    • @hollywood3881
      @hollywood3881 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MotoRickyRicardo See but you said the most important thing of it, is for inspiration. I also am a fan of a few other motorcycle channels, but also they have respect for each other, they do something someone else does, they mention that person, they just don’t nab the idea as their own, but I wish you the best when you start your motovlogs. Going to drop a sub on your channel, so when you start, I got you brother

    I have the 2018 in the dark cherry. Love it. I don't get the dislike of the buckhorn bars. They look and feel fine to me. I have the luggage rack and sissy bar and short windshield. Stock exhaust. Im 5'7'' so the seat is perfect. With a set of waterproof bags I can comfortably go cross country on it.

    Small pick, but I'm not as big a fan of the new kick stand as you are. Seems to grab at the pavement as you lean it over vs sliding over the pavement like the old style. I find myself more confident in the lock position of my older bike vs my 2018.

      I was interested in buying because I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I was held back by the purchase because of the sound. Not even complete stage 1 can make it sound like "real Harley" so I'm meditating on buying the old generation with the 1690cc or a VN 900 to "pump".

    Still love my '09 Low Rider. We don't see a lot of them here in the Boston area and I get a lot of compliments. We have a lot of Street Glides and now Road Glides are appearing everywhere up here, but man, my FXDL is SO much fun I can't sell it! Still on the stock seat though... why haven't I swapped that out??? Thanks for the reminder. A quick upgrade can make all the difference in a bike!

    Upgraded exhaust, open air and a FP3 does wonders for this engine. It was a nice engine before but great now.
    Keep up the good work. 👍

  • @spaceflight1019

    This was going to be the replacement for my 2005 Sportster 1200 Roadster. I believe that the tire sizes are the same. The 5 gallon tank would've come in handy out West compared to the 3.3 gallon tank on the Roadster.
    Unfortunately, my brother in law lost his battle with Agent Orange and I don't think I'll be going to Beartooth Pass again. And then Harley discontinued the model. Oh well.
    The only thing I don't like is the exhaust pipes...I'm partial to staggered shorty duals like my Roadster has. They just look right.
    Thanks for the review.

    I bought a 2018 lowrider in April and I love it I'm 5'4" and it fits me perfect and handles like a dream I don't plan on changing anything but the mufflers. I was very upset with Harley because they came out with a midnight blue lowrider my favorite color

    I actually like the bars on that bike. I'm used to riding my Honda Shadow Ace which has the exact same style bars I believe taht they are named beach bars. They allow me to lean back and still reach the handlebars it makes for a much more relaxed ride. I feel that if you are an aggressive rider those bars definitely would not be for you.

    great review. a silly question - if the bars are not so hot with most of the reviews I've seen, why are HD not doing anything about it ? must be $$$. What would be a nicer flattish bar to install ? trackers with risers ?? is width of 32 " reasonable to steer the thing at walking speeds ?

    I like the gages, my '15 needs longer legs on the speedo. I don't like that they apparently did away with the adjustable riser. I don't like that they took out the logo inset on the driver portion of the seat. It takes away from the personality of the bike IMO. The controls look more forward than previous (Dyna) platforms. I like the kick stand location.

    Amazing colour. I would have sworn it was black until you hopped of at the end and the sun caught it.
    Kind of digging the bike though.
    I agree the bars would have to be changed but by the looks of things the cables and brake lines have a decent length on them because of the back swept buckhorn style bars, probably enough to maybe put some mini apes or t-bars on?
    Might have to go and test ride one when I get a chance down here.
    Peace and love.

    The perfect middleweight HD still doesn’t exist, but this might work for me. I was thinking maybe Sport Glide or Heritage but they’re just too expensive. I’d have to buy used with higher mileage to get near the price of the Low Rider. For near $20k I’d rather just jump to the touring class even if the Softails handle better. Anyway, need to test ride one myself. Hoping that HD decides to keep making all-new Softail models or something else to get their blood pumping .

    Nice video. But tell me, have you ridden the 2016-19 Motto Guzzi Eldorado ? I am stuck trying to decide bewteen the MG Eldordo and the 2018-19 Harley Low Rider. It seems by comparing the two bikes on paper that the MG is a better value in many respects (it also has a rep that is it is a very smooth ride). What are your thoughts between the two of them ?
    *I currently own a 2016 MG V7II and a 2015 Harley Super Low 1200T

    Hey man, how does this compare to the dyna low rider? I was kinda hoping for that comparison. I get that the suspension is better and there is lots of power but...? I've test driven a few of the new M8 bikes, even the FXDR and I still think my LRS has a bit more punch (I've only got slip-ons on my LRS and no tune). What do you think? Anyhow thanks for the review...perhaps the rain derailed the important bits I was hoping for.

    hahaha, most humorous !
    yes , i think that those foot pegs are for crusing, the touring pegs are further up on the crash bar. . . how do those feel when you ride?? is it easier to control the balance , and with the leaning when turning?
    and no , i do not own a road bike. have not been on one to ride, or to be a passenger.
    sat on one at the dealership, on the sales floor. the salesman held the bike level ( while at the front) while i sat on it. got off, then
    mounted it again without his help. he got edgy. have not been back.
    lol, yes the exhaust sounds really cool.
    awsome video !!

    Something isn’t quite right (in my eyes) about the styling of the Softail lowrider. Maybe if Harley made an S (ape’ing your FXDLS!) that was blacked out, lower bars, and a better looking seat... alas, that didn’t happen for 2019. :(

    I’m looking at buying either a 2016 Low Rider S or a 2018 Low Rider. I’ll be testing riding both of them soon but I was wondering how the two compare out on the road? They’re both going for the same price and have about 7000 miles on them. Looking at the specs online, I see the Low Rider S makes a bit more power, but since the M8 Low Rider is a little lighter and stiffer, I figure it’s not too much of a difference?

    • @MyDyerMaker
      @MyDyerMaker 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 2016 Low Rider S is completely different than the 2020 LRS. Ride them both and decide which you like. The softail (2018) will be more comfortable. The dyna (2016) looks better in my opinion.

    I cannot stop watching this video! Hahaha! This weekend I’m going in to trade my 2017 Iron883 for this exact model and color. Rode her at the York, PA plant open house last weekend and fell in complete love, which is funny because I initially wrote this bike off just because of all the chrome. It has grown on me simply because the contrast with that color is sick!!! Since this bike is fly by wire I’m going to add cruise control for those longer highway trips. CANNOT WAIT. Thanks for the excellent review Block! Pretty soon I’ll be drooling on the bike instead of my phone! ;)

      Tim Dunbar hey Tim, I'm from Pa. & was also at the open house but didn't wait in line to test ride this bike. I also ride a Sportser but am thinking about moving up to this bike. Just wondering if you made the move & if you like it? If so do you miss your Sportser?I love my sportster but guess I should test ride one myself.

    • @abridgetohope
      @abridgetohope 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jim Mansi hey man! First off, yes, I absolutely miss my Sportster! I put over 13,000 miles on her! It’s for sale at Lancaster HD right now. I did get the Low Rider and love the bike. Only disclaimer is Harley-Davidson currently does NOT have forward controls for this bike. I unfortunately found this out after I put my order in. However, there is a way to put forwards on with parts of the Breakout. If you Google search you’ll be sure to find it. The bike is a freaking MONSTER. It’s so balanced and stable. I feel so much more planted when I ride and especially riding in the rain. The handlebars are very different then anything I rode before and it did take some practice to do a good right turn from a stop. Seat is amazing. Already did a 300+ mile day already and could have gone another 300 miles. Do yourself a favor brother and go teat ride one either now or next Spring. Hit me up if you have any more questions.

      Tim Dunbar Thanks for the info. I'm gonna check one out this week at Hannums & I know I'm gonna want one but will prob have to wait till spring to make a move. I actually like the mid controls, they look like they're in between mids & forwards. I'm glad you like it & most people do miss their Sportsers, they're awesome bikes. I may msg you in the future if I have questions, thanks!
