Like all the best ideas, elegantly simple but amazingly effective! Cheers for the tip, Adam :)
Thanks for the kind words Mike 😊
Both of the videos I just watched on your channel were excellent. I don't have a hot wire of any sort yet, but I am saving this as a pro tip for when I get one. Thanks! (and subbed)
Awesome, thank you! They’re such an amazing hobby tool to have! And so much fun to use 😁
Great work, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
FACT: I liked this video (in my brain) but didn’t think to click like until you told me to 😁 I guess we do need that reminder… awesome work as always man
Hahaha it always feels so cheesy to say but I guess it’s important. Thanks for watching Mark 😁
Bloody kiwi ingenuity at its best! As an Australian I feel like I am duty bound to steal this idea and claim that it was an Australian invention all along. I’m going to go and eat a slice of pavlova right now just thinking about it!
The horror! Haha as long as you’re not underarm bowling we’re good mate 😆
Love to see the videos!!!
Love to see the comments haha! Thanks Kenny 😁
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
I made a quick and dirty jig based on your previous video but had stability issues. I think the notch.. peg.. thing might do the trick. I'll give it another shot this week
Good luck!
I feel like my life has now been changed forever! Thanks dude. Great video. 👍🏻🤘🏻
In a good way hopefully haha! Thanks man!
Nice mate!!! I need more blue foam!!!
Rare as hen's teeth these days!
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes where the hell we gunna find more xps??
@@haydenjarmey1380 I'm probably going to make a big order this summer. I'll give you a shout when I do
so simple. another great tip from 3D games. I want to see you make the non proxon wire cutter next. haha
Haha yeah maybe one day! Probably electrocute myself in the process 😅
Awesome! I havent used my proxxon all year, might have to try make one of these jigs and give it a go! Dont have access to those saws, clamps and drop drills so might have to ask around haha.
I wonder if anyone sells them premade? It seems like a very useful tool
Cheers Liam! Shifting lands sells one if you’re willing to pay. You don’t actually need any of those tools but they sure make life easier. A regular drill works perfectly fine if you have one
I definitely need to do this... I've just been avoiding circles 😅
Have to get round to them at some point mate! 😆
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes 😂😂
Very handy! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Great vid dude! 😊 been wondering about this for a while, Ah man I defo need a proxon though!
Thanks man! Definitely a worthwhile investment mate, one of my all time fav hobby tools.
This is definitely going to help. Thanks for posting 👍
Glad it was helpful!
I've tried that "clamp a hand-held hotwire and faff about with wood bit risers in lieu of a proxxon technique" (I'll have to think of a shorter name) and it does work, but yeah it's a pain in the butt. Nowadays I glue paper circle templates to some Readi-Board and cut enough out with my hobby knife to stack to the thickness I need. But you have to clad the edges somehow or it looks a bit shyte. I've seen people use broken table saws as a foundation for a bodge-up tabletop hotwire, resulting in the least compact proxxon-adjacent clone ever created.
FAHWC? Short for "Faff about hotwire cutter"
Honestly love my proxxon so much! Was a hefty investment though. Yeah I've seen some interesting homemade jobs too, none that look particularly appealing. Thanks for watching man!

As a fellow kiwi, where the hell do you get your foam from? I have never been able to find it in the obvious spots like Bunnings or Mitre10. I saw Zorpazorp had to haggle his from a construction company when he moved over here. I've always had to find alternatives for my builds.
Preach brother haha! Most of mine is left overs I’ve hoarded but there are a couple of wholesalers around. Auckland and Palmerston North have places you can buy from. I’ll be putting in a big order at the end of the year because I think it’s more cost effective buying in bulk. May have to start a reselling business haha 😜
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes You could fill a large hole in the NZ hobby market by reselling foam haha!
