I definitely like the talking without it you're just another guy making a table I could never afford and even though most people probably missed it. We wouldn't get obscure Ving rhames (having a very bad day) references.😮🫣😂🤣 And besides all that if you didn't talk, I wouldn't be able to plan a table for myself that I really couldn't afford to buy myself but could make with materials that most people would throw away.
I very much enjoy your voiceovers! Thank you for making these videos and sharing your thoughts throughout the video. I find your talking far more informative than any much could ever be!
NEVER Stop Talking!!! You are amazing, and as someone who's also not great at being alone with my own thoughts (as you mentioned in a previous video), your videos are the perfect distraction for those darn thoughts, so again please dont ever stop talking
I have never done woodworking in my life and I probably won’t ever. I watch this channel and Cam at Blacktail just to hear their monologues. And to know I’m not alone in messing up projects, getting frustrated, and persevering anyway.
I'm not a woodworker, just a girl who loves watching videos on it. I've tried watching videos without voiceovers, and within 15 seconds, I click off of them. But I always watch your videos to the end. So please don't stop. 😊
Me, too! Enjoy watching woodworkers, don't want to do it myself. I get bored watching videos without narration and ALWAYS turn the sound off on music alone.
I FEEL THAT, without the voiceover I find myself doing something else, not even watching the video and if I don't enjoy the music just leaving xD having someone talk is SO MUCH better xD
I usually don't leave comments on youtube, but just to chime in, I really enjoy the talking. It keeps me engaged and interested in your work the whole time. Your creative thought process is fascinating and insipring, please keep sharing it!
Your talking is the main reason im watching a a 34 minute video about a table. Keep it up! It's kinda like having a really good teacher who manages to make anything interesting
The "Constant pseudo-intellectual chatter" is exactly why I like you more than the other woodworkers on TH-cam. You provide the perfect amount of actual information regarding your work with the perfect amount of witty, high-brow humor to make it enjoyable with every video. Plus, your voice is soothing and inviting, making everything you say something to remember. On top of all of that, you also do incredible work. I've been watching your stuff for a long time now, and your designs just aren't replicated anywhere else. If you were to just play background music, I would indeed be sad, but I would still watch you make your art. Screw that buffoon that made the comment, they're just mad that they can't do this like you do. Keep up the good work Four Eyes, I will be anxiously awaiting your next PERFECT woodworking video.
The annoying "background" (usually foreground) music of some other channels has me running for the hills almost every time. To counter that, the content has to be really, really sexy, and not everyone has that. I've heard it said that "people" (I think it applies to men, predominantly) settle on their preferred type of music and range of artists by the time they are 35, and are really not open to listening to "new stuff" after that - certainly not to _liking_ much more than a tiny, tiny proportion of anything new that comes out after their 35th birthday. All of which is by way of saying that no matter what genre or artist a TH-cam channel chooses for their "background", it's simple mathematics to show that they are going to alienate a huge part of their intended audience 🤷🏻♂
@@ncstudio333 Really. You're going to take issue with something that 80% of the population where I live (and probably 95% in the US) uses every time they open their mouths? What are other things you complain about, pigeons and clouds? 🥴
No, no, no, KEEP TALKING!!!!!!!!!! You’re my favorite woodworker channel on TH-cam. I started following Cam when he had 30000 + followers and Rand across your channel in my feed. I look forward to your videos every time they’re posted. I’m striving to make furniture similar to yours. Maybe even get into videoing it too, but that would be a learning curve. Anyway you are my favorite.
My other favorite talkative woodworker is Stumpy Nubs. Other than talking a lot, being awesome, teaching, and having loyal fans, the channels couldn't be more different. Totally different woodworking styles. Different channel focus. Different type of dry humor; Midwestern & Canadian deadpan & understatement.
I just can't understand why some people complaining when nobody asked them to click on your videos (but they did) and then talk BS when they can mute or stop watching anytime they want. IMO, both you and Cam know how to narrate some pretty deep and meaningful things with ease. I truly love and respect both of you.
Less talking? It's like listening to a friend telling you interesting stuff you need to know. I love the tips and tricks you sprinkle along the videos. Keep on doing what you do.
Hey bud. I’m a cabinet maker based in Dublin. I don’t often leave comments on any videos but I began leaving a comment on this video before you even mentioned the guy giving out about you talking over your work. I just wanted to say I think your projects are very cool and you are a proper skilful dude. It’s fantastic watching someone who knows what they’re doing combined with a great imagination. However my main reason for leaving this rare comment is because you actually have me laughing out loud with the running commentary. Do not stop. Please continue and I shall continue watching along fully entertained and thoroughly enjoying your work. Thank you for uploading this great video. All the best, Stu. 👏👏👏
Im a poor French dude not even in wood fourniture making, I just find these videos very satisfying to watch at night and yours are my favorites because of the voiceover, please continue ! Its more inspiring than any podcast about life advice or self development (made by rich dudes, probably)
I love your seemingly ‘stream of consciousness’ banter. Please don’t stop! Your videos are as unique as your furniture, which is one of the reasons I enjoy watching you!
As a person with quite low attention span, I usually use TH-cam videos as a background, or I do something else while the video is on. I was glued to your video for all the time, so DO NOT stop talking, I don't know how you manage to keep my attention so good, but please continue!!! Hope it resonates with someone as well
You, Shawn, and Cam are my favorite woodworking channels! The main reason is the humorous, informative commentary. The only slightly less important reason is that I love your design aesthetic. If it ain't broke, don't 'fix' it!
You sound exactly like my brother, and I even found one of your videos just a few days after his funeral. I was definitely in a dark place at the time and your channel became such a comfort for me for the next few weeks. I would put on one of your videos just to fall asleep to. So, please, never stop talking.
Man, I'm glad you found this channel. Oddly enough, I pit this on and took a nap. I'll rewatch it, because he's great at what he does, but hes kinda soothing to listen to. Anyway, God bless, and keep putting one foot in front of the other. ❤
I don't really get why someone would think this channel would be better without you talking. There are plenty of woodworking channels out there and yours stands out to me because of the style of commentary. Thank you for sharing all of your various thoughts with us and of course for explaining your work processes in such detail! I love it!
I have never said that in any comment I ever made....BUT...(as we know there is always a BUT)...I really think you deserve those 1,2 million+ subscribers. I am a trained carpenter myself and have always suffered from the fact that carpenters in my day (I was born in 1965) were really rough, crude, coarse, largely uneducated people. I don't want to sound like I'm the Einstein of carpenters, but a higher standard would have been nice. I certainly wouldn't have left the profession, but overall it was almost unbearable. That's why I really enjoy your videos, because apart from the fact that you build fantastic furniture, the videos are very entertaining and I'm glad that you don't have background music. I really enjoy watching them. I learn a lot and enjoy watching the videos. What more could you want? Thumbs up. I've been a subscriber for a long time. Best regards from Germany. Michael
I’m a sewist, and your leg design really reminds me of a sleeve board. These are a smaller surface for pressing/ironing sleeves, that have the same uncentred leg, so you can slap the whole sleeve on there and avoid weird creases and such. Love your work, I always get so inspired to take up woodworking some time!
Bloody hell. I love the chat, it's why I followed - and heres why: you were talking about the importance of an impact piece, and you're absolutely spot on. I decorated my front room a few years ago in all muted colours, which I had spent ages choosing, but the overall look was bland and impersonal. The additon of a very bright, multi coloured glass coffee table to the room transformed it and made it feel like home. That table cost £20 but made all the difference. So yes, listening to you commentary gave me a 'wow!' moment. Many thanks for verbalising an intuitive decision. ❤
I haven't commented on YT vids for I don't know how long... months? a year or two? But you got me! Today I sold my Robland x26 after 10 years of occasinal furniture-making adventures, mostly using scrap wood, discarded boards and leftovers. TH-cam somehow suggested me I watch this vid, and now I MISS HER SO MUCH!!! Thank you, bro! grrrrr! Anyways, love the vid, LOVE the table, your talk-over, your explanations and animations. Love your designs... Keep up the good work!!
I think about your poll a lot with my own videos on my channel. On one hand, not talking would make the editing process a lot easier. But on the other hand, as you mentioned, finding the right music and the right level at which to play said music would be such a crapshoot to get correct for the masses. At the end of the day, you have to do what makes you happy and the 1.2MM people that subscribe to you because you have done it that way. Long time subscriber here and purchaser of some of your plans. One of my videos is even of me building one of your coffee table designs. And while I imitated your build pretty well, my video (admittedly) is nowhere near as good as yours was for the same table. So keep up the great work! Thanks for the inspiration and the levity. I greatly appreciate it.
You're so true about the bottling of the obvious competitor to sample 73.... I'm a beginner and only used that product a couple time (because i've only built a couple of "significant" projects yet) but that was my very first and almost instant critic on that product... Nice table, nice talking, nice editing, nice everything as per your usual standards!
As a guy who has retired from ~45yrs of designing and building custom furniture, I appreciate your videos and rather like the banter you narrate as you proceed. I was of course, drawn to watch THIS one in particular, because of the title. Tables were always my "bread and butter" ( thank you, my many former clients), chairs were my "holy grail" that was forever elusive in satisfaction, though a few clients would argue that I was successful in finding, at least for their needs and taste....and I thank them profusely. With many, many pieces executed and much of it to my complete satisfaction, I will always be searching for my own "Best ever"....until I literally die. I guess that I should be happy (yet totally amused) that at such a young age you have deemed this to be...."Best. Table. Ever." That would certainly sadden me, if it were I who made such a statement. Firstly, because it denotes that you believe this table to be your pinnacle, but also that you might be unable to top this effort....I tend to disagree with that assumption....you'll be creating "better", I am certain, so kinda premature, imho. Secondly, while I find the overall design to be intriguing, I REALLY do not care for the random patches, patchwork, whatever you choose to call it/them. "Butterflies" to mitigate movement in cracks are artful, as well as functional....these are NOT butterflies. I have had "rich guy clientele"....many.....98%, 99%,.of them would look at that area (patchwork) of the table and say..."wtf is going on here ? That's certainly a distraction from the beautiful walnut grain pattern, isn't it ?" I would concur. But then , I grew up in the '60s where my two older sisters were constantly trying to "improve" their jeans and other clothing with "cool-looking patches".. .a practice that I disdained then, and do 60 years later as well. As for applying the "Best" moniker to this piece.....meh...maybe from your perspective....I would tend to label it more along the lines of..."ONE of my best...THUS FAR". Less delusionally egotistical and succinctly more accurate.....again, imho. Looking forward to watching more of your videos and anticipating any new "Best Ever" projects that you share. Thanks....and highly doubt if you fail to look back at this in coming years and ask yourself..."where did I get the hubris to come up with THAT title ?" Still gonna be a fan...keep 'em coming !
I actually like the idea that you're guiding us through the project. just because I'm in to joinery and just seeing someone just doing something without verbal interaction about the project is doing no one a favour and really just makes everyone trying to figure out the process on their own instead of together. Keep well Brother, and keep inspiring you're audience we love it .
I'm new to your channel, but not new to woodworking videos, and certainly not new to woodwork. I like how you talk. Most people seem to want to explain every single aspect of their process exactly as it's happening. I feel like I'm constantly getting answers to questions I didn't ask, and there's going to be a test later. You're much more introspective, and you tend to cover things in a very general, conceptual way. The narration is often somewhat disconnected from the action on screen, but in a thoughtful way. I like that, because that's what my mind does when I work on wood. I find it very calming, almost like hanging with a friend while we're working on a project together. Sometimes, our mind is on the task at hand, and sometimes we're talking about that time we skipped school to go to a concert but one of our teachers was there and neither of us wanted to snitch. Your videos take me to that place, so please, talk away.
Saw the potential clickbait title, clicked for the thumbnail, stayed for the end result not being clickbait, liked the interesting video, and subscribed for the pseudo-intellectual chatter.
This is your channel. You run it the way you want to run it. Given your subscriber numbers, whatever you're doing is working. And if that other person wants less "psychobabble" then they can create their own channel. Keep doing what you're doing.
What I love about your channel is that in every video you often go technical and explain the techniques that u used for the challenges you came across in your build. Also love the diagrams n stuff. Makes it a lot more exciting to watch. Nice!
I know I'm not the first one to say this. But you should never stop talking. I love hearing your thought process and I have nothing to do with Woodworking but still constantly await your videos. I'm not kidding I've been checking your channel for the last 3 days hoping for an upload. I love your content and wish you upload more.
Hi Chris, just popping in to ask that you and Cam collab on those table legs. You are such a great woodworker, he could really use your help leveling up 😂
Every woodworker has their own way of doing things, from design, to construction, to how they produce a youtube video about the project. Every one of them found what they like and refined that craft so that the end result is something they can be proud of. Your narration is your craft as much as the furniture you build. Keep doing what you're doing. All the best
Honestly, the chatter (and your humour) is the reason I watch your videos. The woodworking craft, your amazing design and beautiful outcome are just a plus.
For me, I struggled in math. No teacher could show me how I’d use these formulas in the real world. Only after I got into woodworking did I become interested in math. I could, in real-time, apply mathematical formulas to an application that made sense to me. Changed my whole trajectory towards education. I finally got the importance of critical thinking not just in math but in every subject.
There are so unbelievable many channels on TH-cam, where I would love to have option 1. But you are the one, that I admire while listening to you! I wish, I could tell stories the way you do. I can tell stories and there are some people who love to hear my stories. But oh boy, you are born to tell stories! No, you are godsent to tell stories! If I had only one wish left in my life, It would definitely be you talking forever! 🥰
The main reason why I watch every one of your videos is your talking which gets me with your straight forward style of speach and great humor. So please do not stop :D Keep the good work up and have a great day dude 😁
There are plenty of channels i watch to learn "how to...". I am a beginner and your skills are far beyond what i can do right now. I love your chatter because it teaches me to reason through my project. That and i find you interesting, humorous, and real.
Chris, I absolutely love your constant pseudo-intellectual chatter. I'm not an experienced woodworker, but your chatter is essential for me to know "who, what, where, when and why." I also follow Cam at Blacktail and both of you have taught me so much. The personality of your commentary is why I really like both you and Cam. Please don't listen to these goobers who don't appreciate the educational aspect of your videos. Thank you!
Your talking is my favorite part of your videos. Never stop. It’s interesting and fun. I love your stream of consciousness and your explanation in detail. Because that’s what I would do as well. ❤
Somebody calling your narration "pseudo-intellectual" outs themselves as a smoothbrain. As somebody with many years of experience in giving and hearing very many scientific presentations, I can attest you that you are extremely skilled in clear and precise communication while keeping it engaging and interesting at the same time. Please keep doing what you are doing exactly the way you are doing it. It's what sets you apart form the other couple dozen high-end woodworking channels.
Please do not change your videos. I watch because of the uniqueness of your designs & the dry humor of your narration. Keep making them & I'll continue watching...
Keep talking man! I love your banter, witty sense of humor but mostly, you're doing a phenomenal job at explaining sometimes complicated things in a simple way so that non-wood workers can understand the process! Love it! Keep being you man!
Please don't stop narrating your videos. I really enjoy your video's commentary and find it very informative and a great way for someone new to woodworking, such as myself, to learn different tips and tricks. Also that brass bar and patch work inlays look awesome! Great work!
I love the 15 degree angles everywhere, and it's amazing how sharp and crisp the edges turned out. The clamping for the feet is done very well, to not disturb the edges.
You don't talk chris you tell a mesmerizing story which encapsulates the viewer simultaneously watching a superb woodworking video.. please never stop talking
I really appreciate how you explain your thoughtful, intelligent approach to decision-making. It not only shows transparency as a teacher, but you're also teaching people *how* to think, not *what* to think, which is so valuable for those with different creative or economic goals. It’s also a great reflection of the care and intentionality you bring to your projects, which helps market your work effectively. Keep up the chatter, brother. We can all learn a lot from those who practice intentional thinking so transparently!
I learn so much from hearing you talk and it’s refreshing the way you tell some of your stories as well. Homeboy can put in his headphones and listen to his own music while watching if he wants. Don’t change a thing!
As a woodworker myself, I love your videos and often talk to myself as I am working. Don’t change a thing and keep up the great work. I hope to retire (or slow down) and make furniture myself next year. Your videos are inspirational.
Oh wow, that was a story worth a film. Speaking of stories, I absolutely love your banter, the way that you explain problems and solutions could keep me coming back all day.
I was looking for this, I think I actually preferred it to the cantilevered base. I thought it fit perfectly with this slab too because the slab branched out in the same Y shape as the first base option. It just flowed better and felt more cohesive. But Chris was probably right about it being less impactful, I’m not “rich guy” so what do I know.
I've got a project in mind for a multi-purpose table and, as an engineer, I was about to make the ugliest most functional thing possible but I think I need to spend more time thinking and designing to make something I'll like better at the end of the day. Thank you for the inspiration, hope "rich dude" likes his table :)
Excellent. I am an old time hand woodworker, drawknives, axes, brace and bit you know. Your headline caught my eye because I often use 'Worthless wood" to good effect. Then starting to watch I though "oh no, not another bloody epoxy thing" but I listened to you speaking and got interested. I had once worked as an Industrial Designer of glassware and I just kept on watching, I loved it. Your explanations are excellent as to 'music' a pox on that idea. Tell all, carry on you're good, your work, designs, drawings and voice are essential. Thank you, sir.
When I first started watching your videos, I will admit, there were times your chatter annoyed me…..but then I realised I was listening to the story you were telling as much as appreciating your obvious talent. I still wasn’t appreciating how good you are at telling that story until I stumbled across a very bad and obvious attempt to copy, not only your woodworking style, but your story telling manner! Now, I am totally, 100% a fan of both. At the end of the day, even if I wasn’t, it wouldn’t matter. There is only one version of us that we know how to be, so from my version of me to your version of you…..I appreciate you
Thank you...I guess I owe that bad copy of me a beer...for unintentionally pointing out how good I am at doing this :) Kidding of course. I don't even drink.
I mostly listen to his chatter, but sometimes when I'm tired, I ignore it and listen again when he's explaining drawings, technical nuances, etc. But I can't ignore annoying background music.
It always irks me when titles like "scrap wood" or "worthless wood" are used to describe hundreds of dollars of beautiful wood that I would absolutely fight to get my hands on.
Yeah, clickbait thumbnail, and as he admitted this "trash" was worth $1000 to obtain... and now is supposedly going for $8500. Has he worked ~25 days on it or is it just the Rich Dude / TH-cam factor?
I enjoy you talking through your thoughts and decision process of what and why you end up where you did. You can find endless woodworking videos with music in the background. Keep doing you!
Good point. For anybody who hasn't...I would say it's the same hard as any other table...only add in the element of having to do all of the slab and epoxy stuff.
Honestly, your commentary is why I watch your videos. I learn a lot about your thought process for pieces. I am not a woodworker, so individual steps that you do may not be as obvious to me as they work be to someone more familiar with the trade. If I watch a video with calming music, I might get to see a really cool piece being built, but I probably won't learn as much.
Definitely keep talking, I have this on whilst doing my own projects and only watch the video when I need more details. The part which is useful to me is hearing how you solve problems, what the design considerations are and how you plan ahead 😊 Talking is by far the most important part for me
theres a billion woodworking youtubers and videos and I come here precisely for the talking (and nice 3d models and other easter eggs). And i like that youre not just explaining what youre doing but also putting in other interesting aspects, or even a creative lil 'storyline' if you will as in this one with rich guy. (Also a plus with talking-vids is they can be (soothing) background noise lol, or when you're doing the ''half watching-half doing smth else' thing.)
I just subscribed because of your chatter. I watch channels like yours to learn why things are built the way they are, thus the expense of the final product. The person that complained should enjoy music while they assemble their piece from Ikea, never knowing why Ikea are able to charge $19 for a side table. Thanks for the content.
For me the talking is the main reason to watch. Love the deadpan humor and the way you keep things real. The actual woodworking has less value for me because I'll never have a warehouse-size workspace with $5M of equipment. I'm also not fond of "live-edge" furniture. The woodworking value for me is because I'm all thumbs and any trick or technique for increasing (or in my case approximating) precision is of interest. The chatter helps me stay engaged during the parts that don't apply to me -- using a cnc machine for example
Hi I’m a new viewer and I’m finding your narration very interesting in a world of videos full of background music- its like you’re answering my questions as I think of them and it feels very efficient and between that and your more conversational anecdotes and topics it really does ends up really adding a nice context to your practice and really just reels you in y’know? sorry to hear people are being people about stuff, love the table!
I'm not a woodworker and I have no aspirations of becoming one, but I watch your videos because I love watching the piece come together and I especially love hearing you explain the process. I would not be able to watch 30 minutes of "random dude silently builds furniture with some music in it"
Talking in a video like this is educational and it shows people how your mind works and what you are thinking at any particular moment. Dont listen to the haters they just hating because they cant make the masterpieces that you do.
my rule of thumb is usually that hand tool segments of videos tend to be nicer "Speaking for themselves" but videos about projects should discuss the project. I enjoy these videos, keep them coming.
I've been subscribed for a while, I love the talking because as an aspiring woodworker, hearing your thoughts and process gives insights which I think are extremely valuable!
You, four eyes, are a magician. You be you and I’ll watch your inspiration. Incredible job. And you speak with a therapeutic voice. This is only my third video I’ve stumbled upon and just love the channel and your concepts.
This is the first video of yours that i watch. Im not a hardcore woodworking guy, i just appreciate a good design and a beautiful outcome with only like 10% interest in how it was made. But this is the first "long" woodworking video where i watched the entire thing. Never stop talking! You kept me entertained and excited, i loved the explanations because it gave me interest instead of confusion. Also the final outcome is gorgeous! Earned yourself a sub. Good job.
Your commentary is awesome. Your woodworking/makery is awesome. I found you through your workshop channel and literally thought it was your only channel and was worried something happened since you havent posted in a while. I am glad thats not true and i really enjoy watching your progression as both a TH-camr and woodworker/maker. With ALL that said DON'T stop your commentary. I love the commentary on my favorite master craftsmen's channels. More often than not i consume youtube content while completing my own tasks and most youtube media, for me, is keeps my mind occupied while I am completing tasks that require me to see but not much else
I've watched quite a few of your vids. Liked them all. This one won me over and I subscribed. Lots of reasons. Demonstrating the safety aspect of the jigs really hit home. Rock on.
I have followed blacktail studio since covid. Just found your channel. Love it! Maybe even more! Thank you for showing us your work along with the time and work required to make these videos. Much appreciated.
Hey, I subscribed because you taught me something when you were talking about the rich dude and the cyber truck and how "Impact" and basically "uniqueness" matters. I have got nothing to do with woodwork, I just love watching these videos. Love from Pakistan
I like the talking, and I'm glad I found your channel. The first video I watched was for your wife's 43 birthday. Great video, and nice dry sense of humor as well.
If I were a rich dude, I would have you build an adult Queen sized loft bed for my 6’3” (…and growing) 15 year old son. I love the look of these live edge/epoxy tables, and your design of the supports and framing are always really cool. And, don’t stop talking!
Holy smokes I did NOT know it took that much work to make a simple looking table!!, thank you for openin my eye to this entire artform I didn't know even existed.
I can't imagine dealing with people who want to pee in your cheerios and complain about your art and how you produce your videos. They can't even understand the amount of time, effort and dedication to create on social media. Watching my son try and launch his channel, I'm just so impressed the dedication toward the craft of content creation. You have to love it, for sure. Keep up the great content.

Have you ever considered using an L fence with the templates? I find it so much faster than making a sled each time.
I love the Detroit hat
Also downloaded Milanote from seeing it here, funnily enough first use is for a coffee table moodboard I’m working on. Works great!
Love your son, love your commintary, you keep doing you man! I really think that this piece is a work of art. ❤❤
The woodworking, interesting voiceover, all the cinematic shots, the drawings… really appreciate everything you do to make these video, cuz it’s a LOT
Yeah he should keep talking, great to see someone so passionate about what they do. His chatting is wholesome as well as explanatory.
I very much enjoy your voiceovers! Thank you for making these videos and sharing your thoughts throughout the video. I find your talking far more informative than any much could ever be!
its not to make these videos, its to make these tables lol
NEVER Stop Talking!!! You are amazing, and as someone who's also not great at being alone with my own thoughts (as you mentioned in a previous video), your videos are the perfect distraction for those darn thoughts, so again please dont ever stop talking
Thanks Christian...thankfully...I don't think I could even if I wanted to :)
1,000,000% agree with getting overwhelmed in my own thoughts.
I enjoy the talking! I don't understand what you're doing but I like listening to you chatter!
I have never done woodworking in my life and I probably won’t ever. I watch this channel and Cam at Blacktail just to hear their monologues. And to know I’m not alone in messing up projects, getting frustrated, and persevering anyway.
@@Foureyes.Furniture🤲🏼❤️❤️
I'm not a woodworker, just a girl who loves watching videos on it. I've tried watching videos without voiceovers, and within 15 seconds, I click off of them. But I always watch your videos to the end. So please don't stop. 😊
It was your speaking and the Tiger's hat that got me to watch the first video in total. Keep talking please.
Same! I can cut a board, that’s about it! I love the process of making things though!
Me, too! Enjoy watching woodworkers, don't want to do it myself. I get bored watching videos without narration and ALWAYS turn the sound off on music alone.
Same. It takes something really spectacular for me to watch a voiceless video.
I FEEL THAT, without the voiceover I find myself doing something else, not even watching the video and if I don't enjoy the music just leaving xD
having someone talk is SO MUCH better xD
I usually don't leave comments on youtube, but just to chime in, I really enjoy the talking. It keeps me engaged and interested in your work the whole time. Your creative thought process is fascinating and insipring, please keep sharing it!
Thank you...I appreciate that
Your talking is the main reason im watching a a 34 minute video about a table. Keep it up! It's kinda like having a really good teacher who manages to make anything interesting
I appreciate that...and will do :)
Yeah same
it was 34 min? it was so good i didn't even notice.
This is the Way!!!!
Keep talking for sure but for god's sake, please find another way to start a sentence other than that quick "ok"
@@ncstudio333 Really. You're going to take issue with something that 80% of the population where I live (and probably 95% in the US) uses every time they open their mouths?
What are other things you complain about, pigeons and clouds? 🥴
I don't understand people complaining about that, you just need to mute it and put whatever music you like
No, no, no, KEEP TALKING!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Shane...I appreciate that. And don't worry...as long as I am able to, I'm pretty sure I'll keep talking.
@@Foureyes.Furniture please don't stop with the talking!
He's a machinist. A slab sander, domino joiner and resin filler. That's not woodworking.
What Shane said +1
I just can't understand why some people complaining when nobody asked them to click on your videos (but they did) and then talk BS when they can mute or stop watching anytime they want.
IMO, both you and Cam know how to narrate some pretty deep and meaningful things with ease. I truly love and respect both of you.
Bro is replying to bot comments...
Less talking? It's like listening to a friend telling you interesting stuff you need to know. I love the tips and tricks you sprinkle along the videos. Keep on doing what you do.
Thanks John...and for the record. I consider. you a friend too :)
Parfaitement dans le meme cas
I love your seemingly ‘stream of consciousness’ banter. Please don’t stop! Your videos are as unique as your furniture, which is one of the reasons I enjoy watching you!
Rich dude buys festool. So.. try not to be a hypocrite.
Man, I just love when something broken and weird becomes a piece of art, it just feels satisfying
I like this channel but I'm not super interested in jokes about maiming baby penises
There are plenty of silent woodworking channels. I appreciate your humor & thought process. Its a wonderfully personal touch.
Your voiceovers are a HUGE PART of why I like watching your videos. Never stop
I am not a woodworker, just a fellow artist who's fascinated by functional art, and your videos are always inspiring.
That bit about trolls was hilarious. Constant chatter, come on. Your talking is ace
This video has been out for 2 minutes and that part is like, 18 minutes in. Are you watching at 900%?
...yes
Table. Ever."
That would certainly sadden me, if it were I who made such a statement.
Thanks....and highly doubt if you fail to look back at this in coming years and ask yourself..."where did I get the hubris to come up with THAT title ?"
Still gonna be a fan...keep 'em coming !
The "constant pseudo-intellectual chatter" is one of the reasons that this is my favourite woodworking channel.
Saw the potential clickbait title, clicked for the thumbnail, stayed for the end result not being clickbait, liked the interesting video, and subscribed for the pseudo-intellectual chatter.
Do NOT stop your narrations - they are the best part!
How much to buy it?
Thanks...I wish I could upload more too...unfortunately. This is about as fast as I can get them out.
Hi Chris, just popping in to ask that you and Cam collab on those table legs. You are such a great woodworker, he could really use your help leveling up 😂
Please do this. 😂
The Spider legs
That's why I'm here to. I also watched your whole video and subscribed to the channel. I'd love to see the spider base in wood beams.
I appreciate that...but I also hope you never find a genie...because I don't know if I could handle that
The main reason why I watch every one of your videos is your talking which gets me with your straight forward style of speach and great humor. So please do not stop :D
Keep the good work up and have a great day dude 😁
A smoothbrain. LOOOOL! I've never heard that one before; stealing it!
Agreed, he makes this stuff sound easy that way
Please do not change your videos.
I have a feeling that the people would still watch.. with or without music. Keep up the good work brother.
I love my pencil. Keep speaking. You are articulate and have a great command of language. Folks don't know how to communicate anymore.
if you get another slab like this, i’d love to see you use the first base design. i really liked how it complements the slab.
I'm sure at some point I will do that one.
50 seconds is a new record for me
As a woodworker myself, I love your videos and often talk to myself as I am working. Don’t change a thing and keep up the great work. I hope to retire (or slow down) and make furniture myself next year. Your videos are inspirational.
Those inlays and the Sample 73 finish make this stunning
Oh wow, that was a story worth a film. Speaking of stories, I absolutely love your banter, the way that you explain problems and solutions could keep me coming back all day.
That Y-shaped table base looked really cool. I'd love to see you bring that idea back for another project where it fits better.
Your animations and drawings stand you out from other wood workers that I watch. Keep up the good work!
There is only one version of us that we know how to be, so from my version of me to your version of you…..I appreciate you
Thank you...I guess I owe that bad copy of me a beer...for unintentionally pointing out how good I am at doing this :)
Kidding of course. I don't even drink.
I mostly listen to his chatter, but sometimes when I'm tired, I ignore it and listen again when he's explaining drawings, technical nuances, etc. But I can't ignore annoying background music.
@@Trammiliin_nr2 so true! The worst is heavy metal. Then it’s sound down and subtitles on
It always irks me when titles like "scrap wood" or "worthless wood" are used to describe hundreds of dollars of beautiful wood that I would absolutely fight to get my hands on.
The talking is why I subscribed! Plenty of talented woodworkers here, not a whole lot of them are all that funny.
Thanks, Deloris.
Its easy to say "yeah just another epoxy table" untill you tried to make one.
I enjoy the narrative because it puts me in the build process more, rather than just watching a show through a window.
I would not be able to watch 30 minutes of "random dude silently builds furniture with some music in it"
Your advice on impact over prettiness is mindblowing to me. I don't do woodwork, but I'm going to apply that to my designs.
Good job.
Appreciate that Rackodakoo.
I'll definitely keep on talking :)
Your commentary is one of the main reasons I watch every video. Also, the patchwork on this piece is amazing. Well done sir!
I'm VERY impressed with the production value of this video. Being a master of TWO skills is pretty admirable. Keep up the good work.
That's funny...I wonder how many people have found me through that channel and then had the same realization of "oh...this is the main thing"
Don't ever change! I love your channel. Thank you for all the great tips, videos, and inspiration.
Keep the commentary - it’s brilliant & it’s you ! The table’s great (as are your schematics). I was enthralled !!! Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Your narration shows intellect, wisdom and perspective.
Mosaic patches are definitely unique.
Hey,
I subscribed because you taught me something when you were talking about the rich dude and the cyber truck and how "Impact" and basically "uniqueness" matters.
You are the Bob Ross of wood working, keep your dialog, it’s relaxing and entertaining!
I love your talking and explaining plus the puns always give me joy. Thankyou sir, you are a true craftsman.
