Allergy is a story of having insecurities no matter how you look. Soyeon wants to be as pretty as the members and she thinks that having surgery will fix her issues. But the members also struggle with who they are : Miyeon tries to become Minnie after her boyfriend dumped her for Minnie ; Minnie is popular and has many followers but no friends, because other girls hate her out of envy ; Shua and Yuqi push Soyeon to be prettier and Miyeon to compete with Minnie, but they themselves envy prettier girls. When you start comparing yourself to others, there's just no end to it, because there's always someone who's going to be prettier, hotter, funnier, smarter... It becomes a competition to be the prettiest, a vicious circle that keeps on creating insecurities and doesn't solve anything because you end up alone at the top.
Queecard is about stopping the envy : love yourself and each other. Miyeon regains confidence and becomes friends with Minnie instead of jealousing her (which is the start of solving their insecurities). Shua and Yuqi have entertained the rivality between Miyeon and Minnie, and projected their insecurities on Soyeon. They're put back in their place during the dance off by Miyeon and Minnie. Shua and Yuqi start hyping each other up, which helps them loving themselves (and each other). At the end, they appreciate Soyeon the way she is and that's what truly helps her with her insecurities. Through their stories, Soyeon realizes that confidence is the key to attractiveness and decides not to be someone else. To be confident, you need to love yourself the way you are and stop projecting your insecurities onto other girls.

Soyeon did say to not take this seriously lmao. She was inspired by the I Feel Pretty movie which was released on their debut year. If you havent watched Allergy, you will understand this more as this is the continuation of the Allergy MV. Also, predebut Soyeon has been criticized by netizens for her appearance. She said that these are based from her experience.
Giselle’s analysis was so on point, like idle are so unserious and that’s what makes the comeback so fun!
I feel Soyeon wrote Allergy & Queencard in relation to her earlier days. Before (G)I-DLE she struggled a lot with her looks because the public constantly called her ugly so she began to believe it and honestly thought she was ugly. But when she started to accept herself and become more comfortable and confident in herself and her looks, believing herself to be beautiful, others began to accept her and call her beautiful as well.
It’s the party that Yuqi invited the others during the trailer. Yuqi said Soyeon may need a makeover because she’s just there, like plain and all compared to the others. Queencard is the flashback of the party. Soyeon went to the party and rocked the night. Then in Allergy it’s all
about the insecurity that Soyeon faces and feels. She’s looking at the other girls and wanted to undergo the plastic surgery to change herself to be like her. But at the end, since she rocked the party she woke up and decided to ditch it.

Soyeon in allergy wanted to look just like the rest of the members and that why she wanted to go through surgery.
In the end she end up dreaming what if she looked like the rest of the members in different a situations. In the party she looks like Minnie or in the pink outfit when she is minyeon for example.
The thing is, doesn't matter who you look like, you are perfect as you are. They are just real geniuses

While imagining herself as the other girls, Soyeon character just realized that she already had everything to be pretty and popular. She just needed to have a higher self-esteem and confidence.

She is happy with herself and it shows. When you see yourself as beautiful then others will see you that way also. So when the two sales workers see her now they want to be friends.

Honestly, even as a hardcore Nevie (fan of GIDLE), Queencard took some time to grow on me. I think the reason why is because they have always given us more heavy stuff music-wise and the vibes overall (I guess??) But then, the more I listen to it, the more it just really grew into me, ESPECIALLY THE HOOK! I cannot stop singing the I'm a Queencard ama ama Queencard lines at the most random moments. It's exactly how they described it in their interview: a fun, fresh summer song that is very reminiscent of 2000s high teens movies.
As far as the storyline goes, each member plays a certain character. Minnie is a fitness influencer who despite her looks and popularity, is very lonely without "real" friends; Miyeon is a social media star who just got dumped by a guy for Minnie (in Allergy MV), Shuhua and Yuqi are shop employees who also want to be cool and knows a lot of trendy stuff, while Soyeon is the "nerdy" unpopular trope who looks up to all the other characters to the point where she wants to get plastic surgery to look like them.
At the end of Allergy, Soyeon is about to continue with the plastic surgery and she ends up having hallucinations where she's all the other characters (thus scenes in Queencard MV where she replaces some of them -- same clothes, locations, etc.) She became a "queencard" without having to change anything and just being confident. When she woke up, she realized she didn't need surgery and was also given the chance to be friends with all the other ladies.
Just a really fun comeback, I love them so much!
EDIT: also I just want to say, Queencard (or queenka, kwinka, etc) is a Korean slang which refers to a hot, sexy, popular girl, most often in a school setting. As apposed to Kingka for men.

"Queencard" = Reframes what it means to be beautiful. Soyeon said at showcase that you are most beautiful when you are confident. It's not the clothes, the hot body, or how pretty you look on the outside... hence the Outro lyrics. Ending captions great as well--- it's okay to feel all the feelings we feel, they're natural and part of the journey of loving who we are.

my thoughts on how allergy and queencard is connected. on allergy mv, its about them specifically soyeon being insecure and want to be the other member because on what they see on intsagram like miyeon is so pretty and rich, minnie is like an influencer maybe?, then soyeon decided to get a plastic surgery to be like minnie/miyeon?. the doctors gave soyeon anesthesia? or whatever it is to start the surgery and when soyeon went unconscious, she starts to dream about her face successfully became minnie's face. Thats where the queencard mv starts, its actually soyeons real experience in the mv but she is relieving it with minnie's face. you can see minnie's face changing to soyeon in the 1st and 2nd chorus. And at the last scene of the queencard mv, you can see soyeon waking up before the surgery starts and decided not to do it anymore. Lyric wise, allergy is more on about our insecurities, we feel that we are not good enough, not loveable, want to be someone else, etc., while on queencard is more about being confident about ourselves, that we are already perfect as who we are right now.

The story is bout 5 girls with their own insecurities. Soyeon is that "ugly nerd" girl and she envies the other 4 queencards. But the other girls have their own insecurities as well and nobody is perfect. Soyeon gets plastic surgery to look more like "a queen". However in queencard, she gets out of the plastic surgery and realised she is loved just as she is and she already is a queencard. An empowering message!

In Allergy MV, Soyeon wanted to look like the other girls and didn't accept herself because she wants to fit in the beauty standards that make her feel ugly and insecure about herself, so she decides to undergo plastic surgery.
In Queencard MV, she kind of dreams being all of the other girls seen in the MV as attractive and hot, but that's funny because she has the same appearance and body that she has now before the plastic surgery, the only difference is that she does it confidently, so she wakes up and decides she doesn't want to change her own aspect aka she accepted herself. The moment she accepts herself, the other girls also see her pretty and hot to prove everyone is pretty no matter how they look, and you become radiant and sparkly when you really accept and love yourself, that's what makes you pretty and noticeable
I've read in social that Queencard is a play with words, they pronounce it sometimes as KWINKA which was a korean slang of being the prettiest girl or like the most popular girl. Also I think its Queencard because their I FEEL album is literally a deck of cards and the card have their faces ya know so it's the Queen Card.

Allergy is about a girl that tries to be like the perfect girls she sees in social media. But along the song we find out that everybody is trying to be like someone else feeling not confident. The main character is soyeon who in this video she decides to go under plastic surgery at the end of the mv.
In queencard what we see is what is in soyeon dreams while in anestisia (I read it that way) but at the end she decides to not have the plastic surgery. The ending is a little confusing because we see soyeon was really in the party, but I guess that photo reflects the confidence soyeon gets through the video 😊
Soyeon(or SY) feels that she's not beautiful enough and that's why she wants to get plastic surgery. Queencard happens in her sleep. She is dreaming a perfect life but then she wakes up and doesn't want to get the surgery. (And also the other members have similar problems that are put to the point in allergy).

I think it's a social commentary on the state of what's going on with social media. Everyone is trying to chase or obtain this false perception of what they see behind a screen thinking that, what they see, is really the "ideal life" that is represented in a curated life stlye -on the socials. And the other side to that curated life is, in reality, not as full or as exciting as the viewer thinks or the "influencer" is trying to portray. And also reminding everyone that you're okay, as is, and that we all feel what you feel when looking at those curated socials -good and bad, but that you being you is okay. Basically, reminding ppl to be the authentic you bc we all feel a little bit inadequate at time and there's no need to chase something that's not real bc you got duped by ppl's curated online presence. That's my take anyway. And being a "Idol," there's nothing more real than that thought bc they KNOW they're not like that MV level glam all the time that ppl see and they've always been a group that never took themselves too seriously. It reminds me of that time Minnie described Soyeon off the stage bc an MC asked how they were like off-stage and she was like Soyeon on stage, she's really cool, strong girl crush -chrisma vibe but off stage she's kinda absent minded, ditzy almost. LOL Soyeon laughed like yea, I'm always losing stuff.

Queencard is a song about self confidence. In the last verse or bridge or whatever you call it, the lyrics are: ”Girl who’s wearing whatever, queencard card card, girl who’s thin or thick queencard card card, girl who’s full of confidence queencard card card” wich are meant to say you are a queencard and you donkt need to change yourself to fit the beauty standards. The whole album is about self-love and just being confident in who you truly are wich I think is such a sweet meaning. The song ’Queencard’ is meant to show hot instagram models who have everything, but later in the song it explains that you don’t need to be popular, famous and change yourself to be beautiful. ’Allergy’ dives deeper into that concept and meaning in my opinion, so the song ’Queencard’ is kind of like the fake Instagram stars, while ’Allergy’ is exposing the reality behind all that. I really adore this meaning and the whole album. Also in the end of the ’Queencard’ M/V when it said ’I feel you’ it just hit so hard.😭

Many years ago when she was trying to break into the music industry she was a contestant on a couple of talent/survival shows.
