    My company just held what they call vision meetings. It was a state of the company address. In I found that I love my company even more. We have a tab in our app for rating shippers/receivers. Based on that the company has made decisions to not do business with certain customers. That kinda blew me away. A company that claims to be a drivers company actually following through. Based on how we the driver have been treated they have stopped carrying for them. A few examples, they have us excessively detained. No facilities for drivers. And as mentioned of drivers, but overall treatment of drivers. Respect, courtesy etc. The company has determined its not worth our time to deal with them. I thought this was pretty cool.

      Michael Boyle oh my company pays detention after an hour. And yes they get that money back from the customer. But my company took a step further. Look even though we get detention pay we make twice that wheels rolling do that’s why my company will determine how much bs they’ll put up with and is it worth it.

    so trucking companies can lie to us truckers all the way from recruiting department, safety, orientation, dispatch, supervisors and other company positions such as payroll and etc but us truckers can't tell a simple lie only because we may really want the driving position bad enough to make us tell a small lie such as adding a couple of extra months or years on our resumes as trucking experience even though some of us have proved ourselves to be very professional truckers and truck drivers and also very safe driving on the road but they just look past all of that..

    • @joyedwards7442
      @joyedwards7442 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True that companies, like hospitals, dentists and insurance companies, are VERY self-serving. Most do not want to bother with two charges, money and people. I guess it is much easier to have one charge - money. And when I hear recruiters talkin about what their average pay is, it makes my skin crawl, because they are using the mathematical mean. The mathematical mean / average can be easily skewed by just a few numbers, so if you are giving a few favorite drivers great miles, those drivers get the money and make it look like the company really has a lot of business going on when they DO NOT.

    • @truckingwithj7202
      @truckingwithj7202 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you are falsifying your job application, then you should absolutely be fired or not hired. You can't say that anyone at a company lied to you so you lied on your application. You haven't worked for the company yet so you don't know if the recruiter did lie.
      And don't say all recruiters lie. Because the company I drive for, everything the recruiter said was true. And was willing to put it in writing before I went to orientation.

    There are so many drivers that just do a walk around the truck checking lights and glancing at the tires. They consider it a pre trip or when picking up a loaded trailer. I thoroughly check out my truck and trailer every morning. It takes me 15 to 20 minutes and even more if my tires are low. I have found missing cotter pins on brake chambers and severely low trailer tires more times than not. I am surprised there aren't more wrecks. People being safe is worth more than money. I found that a mirror and metal bar off an old Kenworth works great for seeing everything good.

      I like the idea of the mirror on a stick👍. But your right about the lack of, or half ass pretrips. Safety is.... Should be a top priority. It's not just a brake, tire, suspension, etc failure one should be worried about. Many things could lead to a T-bone at the intersection. We also have to worry about sitting on the side of the road. That put us and the technician/wrecker driver in danger. Especially if it could be prevented by a proper pretrip.

    I don't know how it is in Canada, but in the United States, the government is to blame for the problems in the trucking industry. They have made the act of hiring drivers profitable to the companies. The companies take the government's money, and convince anyone with a pulse, you can make $50,000 a year, and we will teach you to drive a truck, it's so easy anybody can do it. Companies today will at the very least accept almost everyone to come to orientation, that way they get their check. Even if they know you aren't eligible for hire, they will but you on a bus, ship you halfway across the country, only to deny you a job. Until you change the government, change the companies, this is all just talk, nothing is gonna happen.

I drive on a 65 mph route with one stop light, which I pass 4x a day. From now on, I am slowing down and assuming the light will change.

That’s exactly why I got out, I had a buddy with YEARS OF EXPERIENCE…. And our company was paying him 12
    An hour !!!!!! That’s disrespectful!!! And he was very experienced!!! Had a kid and a wife at home that he had to support ! He ended up leaving to start his own company because I guess an electrician should be payed as much as a stop m shop bagger right ? Fucking crazy man. Laborers here start off at minimum …. 18 an hour… which ain’t shit ! But STILL….. no schooling for that ….. you got to school for Elextrical ….. you come out … and you’re getting paid the same money someone else is making to microwave burgers and give you cold French fries…… nah fuck that. And they wonder why less and less people are doing the trades …. The older guys are usually douche bags too…. Miserable old cucks that hate their lives….. some guys are awesome ! But mannnnnn so many of these old guys are just …. Ugh … you can’t even work with them they’re just so toxic ….

    It would be so nice to be able to spark a joint after a long day of work. I can’t wait until everyone stops acting so ignorant towards marijuana. If you smoke and drive you don’t deserve a CDL and should be charged with the appropriate crime. It’s a lot healthier than alcohol and has a lot more benefits. Once they can create a device that can accurately determine if someone has smoked or not within the last few hours, I think we will see progression speed up towards federal recreational legalization. I can’t wait until we are allowed to smoke to chill out and relax our minds and bodies, everyone will be much happier!! Stay safe fellas and ladies 🤙🏽

    I cannot care about any of this. If they don’t like it the freight can sit on the dock. I have a pete glider and stepdeck. I’m 30 and I got enough money saved to park it for 3 years
