    I’m a widow and learning everything about how to maintain and fix my outdoor equipment. Your video was extremely helpful.
    After putting on new spindles and blades I took apart the rear adjustment arms (they had craftsman 20 mm sockets on them along with rusted bearings). I also rebuilt the carburetor on the Husquivarna YTH 24V48. The springs were not fun on this one.
    After looking at a parts diagram I quickly determined the idiot at the repair shop had no idea what he was doing. Now I own two extra craftsman sockets he had on the rear adjustment arms trying to level the mower and I have a level mower.
    Thanks again for such a clear, descriptive video and thanks for letting me know what tools I needed in advance.

    Thanks for a great detailed video.
    I decided to go for 3 1/8" in the front and 3 5/8" in the rear of my 46" deck. That should be the maximum height to go as it comes real close to my belt rubbing but, time will tell. I should be barely safe with the belt. My front was at about 2 3/4" to start and the rear was 3 1/2" to start, so, adjustment was in order. Been that way since new and I have 72 hours on it. Great tractor for sure! BTW, I run LEADED 'NON corn alcohol' fuel that I get from a gas station near me. I run it in all my small engines as it's a safe alternative and it stores much longer without gumming up as with Unleaded corn alcohol fuel, and my hoses will be just fine. ALSO for those who don't know, the triple bagger for the 48" decks will fit the 46" DECK mowers. Usually the 46" decks are two baggers. I found out by mistake when I bought the triple bagger and it fit great. When I went to look for a new rubber part for the chute, the triple baggers said for 48" decks and double bagger for 46" decks. Boy was I happy to learn my mistake was a perfect fit! The more bags the better and the longer you get to mow in between dumping's.

    Great video, thank you very much! In the video, I noticed that your deck height selector was at it's "max deck height" position (number 6), when you were showing us how to do the adjustments.
    My question is, "Is 3.5 inches in height for the rear of the deck at max height, listed by Husqvarna's factory service manual as the correct height for that setting? Thanks for any reply, and thanks again for the lesson. 👍

      Making the front lower will help so you do not double cut your grass that would give you brown tips. Thanks for watching

    What did you have the mower height setting at. From your video it looks like it is set on the highest setting?

    • @DIYJIM
      @DIYJIM  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does not matter what the height is set at when you make adjustments because there is only one adjustment from side to side then one in the front.

    Not everyone has a four foot level. The basic process is the same for all makes - put your tractor on a level surface, measure the height of the deck rim first on both sides and adjust using the rods... then measure in front and in back and check which hole the front support arm should be in to give a slight rise in front.

    Last week my Husky started self destructing as I was mowing. A major weld broke from the bracket holding the deck. When it was welded they missed the seam completely and the weld was also cold. Sure wish I had bought another MTD!! Husky sucks! This is also a replacement mower. The first one had the transaxle replaced three times!

    I have the same mower and last year I hit a rock while mowing the ditch next to the road and bent a blade really badly. It also broke the spindle. So I just replaced the spindle and blades and the deck was uneven. It only had an adjustment on one side and I had to max it out to make it even. The belt was ruined by the broken spindle so I replaced it as well. Now the weird part…when on the highest setting the blade is now engaged and I can’t even turn the engagement lever to the position it is supposed to be in for blade engagement. I’m not sure why but I actually like it a little bit because I don’t have to disengage the blade to back up anymore which always annoyed me and the height is perfect for the way I like to cut my grass anyway. And when I hit a tall and thick spot I can just press the engagement lever towards the position for engagement and it prevents the belt from slipping and powers right on through it. I am going to take a look and see if I can figure out what is causing this I guess but I had to get the grass mowed before it got completely out of control and like I said I kind of like the way it worked. The only thing is that I can’t disengage the blades so it could be a little inconvenient at some point. If you have any ideas why this might be happening I would appreciate your input and thanks for reading this long comment. I appreciate your videos and I have found them helpful! 👍
