ah shame that nowadays one of the best bands in the world cant move a crowd anymore: 2 reasons: the cool kids of the 90's are too old now, the rest is spoiled
@Skip R kind of a bold assumption to say everyone in that crowd is a stoner i think your this narrow minded because you never smoked a spliff with your friends
I'll give you the real two reasons: They were programmed at 6pm on the Friday, with everybody still hung over from the Thursday. Check out Smashing pumpkins later that night for the cheering crowds when they've got some beer in them. I've been to music festivals from the 90s to now and an afternoon slot hardly ever gets a crowd wild. Not then and not now. Not even Ratm can rile them up as much as they do at a night show.
People in the crowd are too young to know what this wonderful band meant for music. Too young and ignorant to understand their sound and remember Layne Stanley. I used to have a magazine pic of Jerry shirtless with his long blonde silky hair...so wild, so beautiful. Maybe men and women have aged, that's life, but music is forever!!!
I attended this concert and I am a big fan of the band. But live and in front of the stage it sounded nothing like this recording. The mix was so bad, that you almost couldn't hear the vocals. It sounded like a soup of loud noise, which totally ruined the experience for me. Sadly, the crowds reaction actually reflects the live mix pretty well. Luckily this recording exists =).
@@jonaslonartz7188 it's nice that you point that out. You can tell that the band is not comfortable either, most likely for the poor mix. Even on this video, Duvall's guitar isn't there, just check Stone.
didnt get to see the original lineup , but i did see AIC with duvall in 2010 at The Fillmore in Detroit. They sounded Amazing, so glad they are still playing 30 years later
Layne turned into a 'rock God', before it was all said and done....but I admire DuVall for being fearless and doing "his part". Im pretty damn sure the band didnt ask him to be Layne Staley
My heart goes out to the surviving members of Alice in Chains ..I know they miss Layne terribly...Jerry looks as if he has lost his best friend ..and the reality is ...he did. ✌💙😔
I saw them in Charlotte NC at Carolina Rebellion a couple of years ago. These guys are like fine wine, the older they get the better they play, I guess the crowd doesn’t know who these guys are …
They sound good although it would sound more complete if Duvall had a guitar to play rhythm parts on some of those songs. He has done this before with Jerry. I know William got his guitar a few songs in but you can't hear it and when Jerry plays leads there is no rhythm part backing it.
@@craigyoung4156 very very fun some fights around because of all the alcohol and drugs but still insanely fun my buddy dislocated 3 fingers during korn 😂 and now we have tickets to see korn again on the 2nd of September!
European crowds tend to be different. Looks like they go more for the music, while we in America often go for the experience. Nothing wrong with either
Agree ! people also have to remember Duvall is in his early 50's here . He does a good job for his age . I believe they played this same venue in 2006 with him . To be fair he was better then but was also a lot younger .
So, to this day, William has been in the band as Lane had and he's recorded as many albums as Lane did with the band... and people are still bringing it up??? C´mon, lern to let go, yes Lane was great, but Duval has more than earned his place and I don't know if Lane would be as good as Duval (he's 54 freaking years old) should he still be alive (Lane would also be 54 today).
No fucking shit my brother!!! AIC would never had bothered if the man didn’t fit & help make the magic come alive again. Whether it be performing older material but especially the newer more relevant material. It’s huge, it’s powerful, it’s breathtaking, & it’s undeniably relevant. It’s quite obvious the band loves & misses Layne without question. The newer songs & lyrics bare that out. But to think these men would hit the worldwide stages & record new albums behind some bum of a frontman is beyond stupid. Total honesty & complete trust with outstanding results. Love AIC forever & always.🙏🏼
I get so tired of the negative comments about Will as if AIC owes something to fans because they had to replace Layne AFTER he died. Will seems like a great fit to me and I have seen other performances where the vocals sound much better. I think even Jerry doesn't sound that great in the mix here. I personally think the last 3 albums with Duval are killer. BGWTB and Rainier fog are masterpieces in my opinion and so is Boggy Depot, so Jerry has a heap of life left in his songwriting, playing and singing. If Will is good enough for Jerry, then people should stop bitching about Duval and either get with the program or move on. Layne is not coming back and given the quality of the albums AIC have done with Will, I think they made a great choice. One other thing, in all the comments, no one seemed to mention how great Mike Inez bass playing is, his tone and groove are unstoppable even if the tunes are a little slow here.
Will is an amazing addition i think. It only took me one song toget over the fact that it was not layne. By the time i heard the second song of the live in mocow gig they did i was alright with him. People just need to get over the initial shock and then move on. Layne is dead. Sadly. But i would not want to place bets on layne stil being alive today if he did not die in 2002. Will brings a vocal range very similar to layne. I am happy with their choice.
I saw AIC open for KISS on the reunion tour. GREAT show. This version of AIC is killer too. Great band, Great show. Life is short. Don't get stuck at the light !!~

*Layne Staley.. :- /
@@jonaslonartz7188 it's nice that you point that out. You can tell that the band is not comfortable either, most likely for the poor mix. Even on this video, Duvall's guitar isn't there, just check Stone.
The guy doing backdrops during Rooster . What a jerk.
didnt get to see the original lineup , but i did see AIC with duvall in 2010 at The Fillmore in Detroit. They sounded Amazing, so glad they are still playing 30 years later
I was at Tiger Stadium in 96 when AIC opened for kiss ,not a kiss fan ,just went to see AIC then left !AIC blew kiss and more, away
Literally one of the greatest bands of all time. Paved the way for so many metal bands. Jerry Cantrell is a riff GOD.
Layne turned into a 'rock God', before it was all said and done....but I admire DuVall for being fearless and doing "his part". Im pretty damn sure the band didnt ask him to be Layne Staley
Thanks,for upload Man.!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🇧🇷
My heart goes out to the surviving members of Alice in Chains ..I know they miss Layne terribly...Jerry looks as if he has lost his best friend ..and the reality is ...he did. ✌💙😔
Awesome show, I’ve always loved AIC; however TOOL must have been on deck because of that star in the background 🤟🏾
Spiral out brother.
Wills passion on the vocals on Down in A Hole is unbelievable. Jerry’s guitar is on point. Such a great band
😃Yeaaaahhh, Grunge🎸🥁 🎤, nice performance🌟Alice in chains😃👍👍
I saw them in Charlotte NC at Carolina Rebellion a couple of years ago. These guys are like fine wine, the older they get the better they play, I guess the crowd doesn’t know who these guys are …
The Eyes Wide Shut intro was so dope
They sound good although it would sound more complete if Duvall had a guitar to play rhythm parts on some of those songs. He has done this before with Jerry. I know William got his guitar a few songs in but you can't hear it and when Jerry plays leads there is no rhythm part backing it.
Watched the whole Thing 🤩❤
What's up with this crowd. It's ALICE IN CHAINS, show a little more respect
I totally agree. It's like they don't even know the caliber of the band onstage
Saw them with korn In 2019 we were moshing around like crazy I would love to see them again !
@@NEOTHEGREAT6 2 awesome bands from the 90s that must have been a fun and intense show
@@craigyoung4156 very very fun some fights around because of all the alcohol and drugs but still insanely fun my buddy dislocated 3 fingers during korn 😂 and now we have tickets to see korn again on the 2nd of September!
European crowds tend to be different. Looks like they go more for the music, while we in America often go for the experience. Nothing wrong with either
Not bad at all live. Id give this version of Alice n chains a 7 out of 10 live.
@W. Dearth ...and Layne's era is still uncomparably better on every level.
Agree ! people also have to remember Duvall is in his early 50's here . He does a good job for his age . I believe they played this same venue in 2006 with him . To be fair he was better then but was also a lot younger .
Ok he’s not Layne but the guy does a damn fine job 🤘🏻
Love AIC. Of course no one could ever come close to Laynes abilities but I respect this guy, he did a great job and sounds awesome.
The harmonies of Duvall and Cantrell are unreal
You should have heard his vocals with Layne’s...
@@jeremylandis3775 nah man, he just listen to Duvall. The type of reply is this lmfao.
What till you discover Layne Staley
I love the Flying V Jerry is playing it is like the one Michael Denner of Mercyful Fate plays.....metal rules~~~ \m/

GREAT show. This version of AIC is
killer too. Great band, Great show. Life is short. Don't get stuck at the light !!~
Best band from nineties 'till today.
@Jenny D tried Korn already, and lots of other shit as well..that's the point of my post bud.
@Jenny D stop make me laughing girlie, please. Go listen Korn or Green day or whatever stop this painful laughing out of me
Maybe
@Jenny D you really should check this thing you've got about opening acts. Hilarious from my point of view, but nonetheless cringe somehow
@Jenny D Korn? That’s bizarre….Aqua is better than Korn
Robert Duvall is not Lane Stanley but he's getting the job done with a heavy load on his back.
William, not Robert. Jesus man
debe ser como un Black Edition de Robert. calculo.
Tom Hagen
AiC in STP still rock with their new vocalists!
Jeff gutt should have been new singer for aic .. I guess jerry must have thought he sounded to close like layne ..
Superb show, Duvall is amazing!!
Them bones was in my algorithm the day after my hip replacement surgery 😂 True story and that is how I became a fan Alice In Chains🤘🤘🤘🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾🎸🎸🎸😂😂😂
Haha eyes wide shut ost on intro! Love it
Thank you! was just thinking where I had heard that melody
Sean Kinney looks like Steven Seagal in Above the Law
Love the intro 🎹 Love this show 🎶💜
God I love this band.
Jerrys stuff just rolls along nice. Then when wana slow it an feel something hes very good.
Willian Duval e o novo baterista estão fazendo um trabalho incrível. Eles são um exemplo para as bandas brasileiras que ficam cheias de frescura em dar oportunidade para novos musicos por causa de opiniões de fans babacas.
O baterista é o Sean, ele sempre esteve na banda ;-;
O "novo baterista" é o Sean, cara 😅. É o mesmo, só que mais velho 😅
Jerry C on the Flying V!!!!! His longly anticipated Solo album: due any day!!!!
Do you know when? I hope he tours to Europe.

Check my brain is amazing ,,glad they are still rocking
watching them go live with a different lead vocalist feels strange but still, I love to see them perform to this day
Man in the box and Rooster.....best songs ever!!!!RIP Layne.❤
Wish there was atleast one video of Layne with this quality😭
MTV unplugged
Vocal is so awesome as Layne! ❤️😍
Alice in Chains deserve the headlining last night show in any festival. Darkness!!
esa mescla de conexion entre angry chair y man in the box sonaron asi en el lolpalloza del 93 en brazil ♥ estuvo genial
3/12 songs from the last 3 albums. Man I wish they did at least 1/2 of the set list post 90s tunes. Those records are freaking amazing. Time to let go of some of the old stuff
Tremenda Banda... Este concierto impecable, un tema mejor que el otro...
Alice in Chains riffs are the best
AIC FAN FOREVER. So happy they found a singer that the industry can’t break
eu amo o alice in chains veiiiii

why people don't jump and have fun ?
First: It´s 2 early Second: It´s Germany
third: most might not even know the songs
cuz this concert isn't powerful like their old ones
3rd it’s not death metal and that’s probably what these kids came for
At least is better than kabbo del mar
30 plus years shows absolute greatness!! Miss Layne and Mike but this will do!😂
Sean is the Phil Rudd of grunge. such a killer groove
0:02 black parade?
Theres many bands where the front man is replaced, and this is one of those times when it worked out great. william duvall is very very talented and I think as a 90s grunge fan since the beginning; He has done great. and I love the albums they put out
