I know that if I get the chase trifecta I can use my points to transfer to the CSP or the CSR. Can I also transfer my points with Amazon and Southwest cards to the CSP or the CSR?
Thank you for the video! How do I renew my intro bonus on the Freedom Unlimited? Do I just call them up and ask? Do you have a link to a “Best Gas Card” or “Grocery card” video I could watch as well? Love the content John!!
So I'm considering getting the freedom unlimited, but I probably wouldn't get any other chase card till next year. Would I still be able to use the points from the freedom card in travel if I don't use my points until after I get a travel chase card?
Hi John. I watch your videos especially the travel part where you book flight for points. I am wondering why only book one way business class and how do you get back?! In economy class?!
Yesterday I booked the Maui Ritz Carlton over Christmas using the Ritz Carlton annual free night award. One certificate gave me a $1,760 room, for an effective $150 annual fee. I use the $300 airline credit to lower the $450 annual fee.
Their main cards are in serious need of a revamp. I did jump on the 5% gas and grocery offer for the Flex but I don't see a ton of usage on the card after the first year. The fact that none of their main cards offer a gas or groceries multiplier is a travesty.
Amex bcp 6% groceries Citi custom 5% gas Flex 3% dining All I can think of for the flex otherwise I agree, a better dinning card like for instance a second custom cash (another citi card product swapped) for dinner
My year of 5% grocery on the Flex ends in March, hopefully the Unlimited is offering the same by then. Or the Flex has it as a quarterly category until it comes back.
The Sapphire Reserve is definitely underrated in my opinion. I just recently upgraded my Preferred to the Reserve and I’m stoked to get a ton of value from it over the years. Great stuff in this one! 👊🏼
CSR will always have a special place in my collection for sure. 50% bonus is solid. But it just feels like it's getting a long in the tooth, some additional juice would be nice. But congrats on the upgrade and welcome to the lounge life hahaha
Can you make an in depth video of the chase southwest cards? Would like to know more about the companion pass. There is also a limited time offer to get the companion pass by opening a new account.
@johnsfinancetips if I get a Southwest Companion Pass with the two SW cards, can I buy my ticket with Chase transfer partner points and then get my wife's ticket through the Companion Pass?
I literally ignored chase 5/24 because I wasn't a fan of the sapphires. Now I'm stuck at 5/24 and I want the ritz Carlton. I'm like a year and a half away from getting it
I have always wondered if it’s better to use my credit card to get some gas or just my debit card. Can you help me/us with that. I love your videos and I have been taking a lot of notes from them💖🤝🏼
Hypothetically if I get approved for Chase Freedom Unlimited card and apply for the Sapphire Preferred let’s say 3-6 months later, I’m ineligible for the 60K point bonus because I had already gotten the $200 cash back reward bonus from the CFU?
If I could add business cards to the list I would definitely say the Ink Business Cash & Unlimited cards as well. 90k welcome bonuses, great earning categories and no annual fees. Such great cards. Awesome list John. Glad you included the Ritz card!
If I have had the Chase Reserve card for years what do you recommend I should do? Keep it or use a different one? And if a different one which one? In other words which should be my new top teir card? Thanks
I'm assuming you mean for the Southwest cards. If so, yes you can get them this year, but the trick is to not hit the sign up bonuses until January so you get the 2 year companion pass
Question: I got the Chase unlimited with the new bonus that doubles everything for the first year. If I send someone my referral link, will that new person also get that double bonus for the first yr even though it doesnt say anything about that when clicking my referral link?
Good question. They will get the bonus that the referral link states which may or may not be the double everything for year 1. You’ll just have to take a look at it.
Hey John, can you transfer the "cash back" points from say the Amazon card to the Sapphire Reserve card the way you can from the Freedom Unlimited card? Similarly, are the southwest points technically chase points? or are they southwest points? If I already have southwest points can I combine them?
Southwest and Amazon both get their own point type that's different from Ultimate points, the points you'll get from Chase trifecta cards. So unfortunately no.
Hey John thanks for the video I used your Link the other day for the freedom Unlimited do you know if you’re supposed to get specific documentation from chase that you’re getting the offer Match offer?
Dumb question, if I get a Southwest card, do those pts come in as UR pts which I can transfer to a sapphire which then I can transfer to travel partners, or is this its own portal for Southwest only?
I don't do much resort travel but I would say 10/10. Compared to the Hyatt Zilara in Cancun this was like a night and day. The biggest win for me is the fact that the food at all the restaurants is actually good. All you can eat sashimi? Yes please hahah I would stay again!
@@johnsfinancetips thank you for your feedback!! I really appreciate it. Going to use my points for a 4 night stay there. Love the content you provide!!
Chase allows you to transfer points from some Chase cards to another. So, if you have the Freedom Flex and/or Unlimited and a Sapphire card, you can transfer the rewards points from the Freedom cards to the Sapphire, and then take advantage of the Sapphire's point boost or the transfer partners that you couldn't use under the Freedom cards. This strat is the basis behind the famous "Chase Trifecta" (or any credit card bi/tri-fecta), where points from all the cards in the trifecta can be consolidated to the travel card. The idea is that you can earn points with multipliers in a lot of different categories with all the cards, then group all the points on the card that gives you the most points value. You can find other vids from Mr. Liang or many other TH-camrs about trifectas.
The ports, the sapphire offers will grant you better points and with the freedom double points back you take those points and put them through sapphire travel portal
@johnsfinancetips Thank you, John, for yet another fantastic video! Bos-Logan Airport is my home base too, and currently, I've got the Bilt, Amex Gold, and Venture X as my trusty travel companions. With one of the two Sapphire lounges nestled in Boston, I'm contemplating whether to elevate my card game with either the CSR or Ritz Carlton after maxing out on my VentureX SUB. Any pearls of wisdom to share? Also, navigating the 4/24 Chase rule, so any advice would be golden. Thanks a bunch!
Fellow Bostonian!! You can actually get into the Sapphire Lounge via Priority Pass from other cards but I think you only get 2 entries per year. With Priority Pass from CSR it's unlimited entries The lounge is between B and C terminals so if you fly UA, AA, and B6 it's an amazing value add. I think now it's time to figure out where you want to travel and how you want to travel, from there pull in the highest SUB possible from the most cards possible. That's how I did it way back when I first got going in the travel hacking space. BOS > HKG on Cathay First was my first redemption, pulled it off using AS miles. As for 4/24, I would strongly recommend getting business cards
@johnsfinancetips Really thoughtful advice, John! My Venture X provides one entry to the Sapphire Lounge (which I haven't used yet). Also, I just reached my Amex Gold sub (60k MRs) and should hit the 90k miles from VX's sub in a week or two.
@@johnsfinancetips I'm gearing up to make the most of my Amex Points and Capitol One miles as well. Any recommendations on the best way to utilize them? Also, I'm intrigued by your mention of business cards. I'll be doing some research to see if I qualify as a sole proprietor based on your recent post. Any specific tips on that front?
Thanks to the link for the Matched Cash Back offer. Online, I see the offer of "5% Cash back on combined gas station & grocery store offer purchases (not including Target or Walmart), on up to $12,000 spent in the first year." I wonder if there is someplace we can get both the offers together at the same time!
Thank you so much for the information! You give us its so helpful . I would really appreciate if you can do a video about the navy federal flagship credit card
@johnsfinancetips once the 24 months for getting the Freedom Unlimited is over, do I need to close the card out and then sign up for a new Freedom Unlimited or is there a way to get the sign up bonus without closing the card out or doing a product change of the old card to something else?
Great question, unfortunately you do have to product change but it’s fairly straightforward just to call them to produc change your Chase freedom unlimited to a vanilla Chase freedom. Once you product changed, you can then go ahead and apply for the Chase freedom unlimited again to get another bonus.
Picked up the CSP in May of 2022, and the CFU back in Febuary for the 5 x groceries. I am not eligible for any bonus at the moment. Don't fly Southwest. So I am still just rocking my Chase Duo 😂. Maybe I'll get CSR in 2026 when my SUB is available.

does anyone know how does the pairing credit cards work?
I have the Amazon card and the Wells Fargo Autograph. I’m looking for another card, should I go for a Master Card?
Yesterday I booked the Maui Ritz Carlton over Christmas using the Ritz Carlton annual free night award. One certificate gave me a $1,760 room, for an effective $150 annual fee. I use the $300 airline credit to lower the $450 annual fee.
Does the Amazon prime Visa card show up on your chase app ?
Yes it does 😎
Their main cards are in serious need of a revamp. I did jump on the 5% gas and grocery offer for the Flex but I don't see a ton of usage on the card after the first year. The fact that none of their main cards offer a gas or groceries multiplier is a travesty.
Amazon fresh also whole foods if you are lucky to be in a area with one.
Whole foods is a robbery. Everything is overpriced compared to other groceries/supermarkets
Amex bcp 6% groceries
Citi custom 5% gas
Flex 3% dining
All I can think of for the flex otherwise I agree, a better dinning card like for instance a second custom cash (another citi card product swapped) for dinner

you deserve wayyy more followers. I prefer your videos over other people because you’re super laid back and friendly. good work!
You can’t transfer points earned from the prime/Whole Foods card to chase ultimate rewards/travel partners
I literally ignored chase 5/24 because I wasn't a fan of the sapphires. Now I'm stuck at 5/24 and I want the ritz Carlton. I'm like a year and a half away from getting it
Ritz Carlton is the best travel credit card. I use mine constantly.
lol since I came up in the 2015/2016 travel hacking era I lived under the trauma of 5/24 always hahaha
All these sign up bonuses, but the easiest way for the 1% is to have an internet presence and get people to use your referral links.
I have always wondered if it’s better to use my credit card to get some gas or just my debit card. Can you help me/us with that.

Love the Inks! Good idea on a follow up list including business cards!
The Ink Unlimited is great; huge SUB then you set it to auto pay your cable bill and then sock drawer it.
I have the freedom flex, the prime visa, I'm looking to expand and add a chase card to improve on travel rewards. what do you suggest?
Most will say the Chase Sapphire Preferred is good for travel.
18:05 do I have to cancel the card before I can get the sign up bonus again?
What are the requirements to get approved for the chase freedom unlimited card? Like credit check proof of income? I don't bank with chase
I am a college student with 703 application was easy and i got approved immediately
I just got the Chase Unlimited with the affiliated link. Do I still get the benefits even though I got the chase freedom flex less than 24months ago?
yup Freedom unlimited and Freedom flex are different products so you'll be able to get the offer
If I have had the Chase Reserve card for years what do you recommend I should do? Keep it or use a different one? And if a different one which one?
In other words which should be my new top teir card? Thanks
I just need to apply for the CSP or CIP and product change my Bonvoy Boundless to the Ritz-Carlton to have all 5!
