I'm overwhelmed that this is how detailed, and exhausting making a 3D model. Even just in the coloring takes forever, how much more when adding movements turning to animation!
Modeling takes more times than animating nowadays. You could suprise if you know how easy to make that model to move. At least for 2d it is. I am not sure about 3d animation but pretty sure with a little coding it would be super easy.
this video is an absolute treasure trove of tips. i've never seen that trick with the magic texture for clothes before. I slapped my forehead when it popped up.
Wow, really amazing! What a level of detail and precision! These videos open our eyes to the amount of work that goes into creating a 'simple' character. Well done!
This muuust have been inspired by Pedro Conti's old viking, especially with that cocktail at the end. Either way, great job. I love seeing the full process
Brilliant, just brilliant. But I can't reed from a feel that on an earlier stages this guy (without facial hairs) reminds me Sigismund Dijkstra from Witcher 3. And with this outstanding beard - Gimli from LOTR.
it's very nicely done, If you could made a more in depth video or simple picture /texture tutorial about how you did the braid or moustache that would be very cool. I try to follow along but can't achieve the same result
So I have a quastion... Will this complete blender character be easily exported to Unreal or anything else to look as good as in blender, or you will have to make it all over again in the other program? (I mean everything but sculpting and modeling) /// thx
Wau! Amazing! I would like you to make a tutorial for this. I ask myself why you didn't use the new hair system, but I guess I know why now. Love it! Keep it up!
A beautiful job. Congratulations. How long does it take you to do this impressive job? I think a very long time. How long will it take to achieve the same result when Blender and AI can start working together to obtain 3D figures of people, animals and things from simple sketch drawings and text descriptions?
Sorry for the beginner questions. We can’t use blender hair model for game right? Can we even import them to UE? Or marmoset for rendering? Is this model/workflow suitable for animation?
Hey Flycat, i know i may be asking for too much, i watched your video from start to finish, recently i started sculpting my own characters and i was just wondering if you can somehow just label each important step or give me some key words so i look for each tutorial for the parts you made Because i see that creating a whole model its not only sculpting i see you doing a lot of stuff after the sculpture got his form, is there any way you could give me the key words to know what else is involved in creating this model? So i look for tutorials on this and create a proper functional model like yours thank you so much, you have an amazing skill! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Wish I could learn blender this well too. So much I wish to make art of but cant cuz I cant figure out how to use blender. Just trying to make a house of block is almost impossible for me. =( Great viking btw. =D
Quite a different approach here compared to when you did the Wizard. Here you actually do a block-out sculpt before doing the retopo and then use the multires on the retopo to add detail. With the Wizard you just raw modeled most of it with correct topology from the beginning, adjusted the shape with sculpt, then added multires right away for detail sculpting. Any particular reason why you started doing block-out like this?
I'm overwhelmed that this is how detailed, and exhausting making a 3D model. Even just in the coloring takes forever, how much more when adding movements turning to animation!
As someone who made 3D models 20 years ago, I'm amazed at how fast and easy it has become 😄

Even with fast-forwarding, it took almost half an hour. Amazing work !!
I find myself struggling working around Blender and then I see this... absolutely crazy
So great ! It makes me want to use Blender more! Well thought to add the little strawberry cocktail at the end!

Just curious how long did it take you complete this model ?
What we watched in 34 minutes probably took about 34 hours
@@masterenos hahaha. what I am also thinking hahaha
@@masterenosNo, much more than that.
Well if you slow the video down to 25% speed it's still quite fast. Take from that what you will.

any fellow to explain this masterpiece:) just love for watching
Did you choose to do the material in blender because its faster than in substance?

Do you use any addons for the hand painting inside blender?

how did you just merge the hand and fingers like that, and then just continue sculpting like it was nothing?

Perhaps retopo is the main difference between "modeling" and "sculpting".
Where most effort is done to make the model animatable.
You are awesome!!!
I’m still watching. I’m curious, how many cups of coffee and how long did it take you to complete the project?
