Thank you for this. The instructions that came with my valve were less than clear, the diagrams didn’t match up and I was missing a screw. With your help, I spent more time cleaning than I had to spend repairing. So far, so good, and my toilet even flushed quieter now.

Thanks to this video, my shitter is no longer full...of leaks. The only thing I could add to the information in the video is that applying a bit of rubber conditioner to the rubber seal under the plastic sliding gate on the flush valve while the toilet is upside down resolved the issue that I had with that valve sticking slightly open. Now a little water is sitting on top of that sliding gate and the resulting water seal keeps the stink down nicely.

I'd have to shut my water supply off when I left or at night to prevent overflow What I noticed when I took the plate off was that the metal arm was cocked and not sitting in the lever right. That was probably the cause of the issue, not the part, though the water flow is much stronger now, so it was worth doing. Also worth noting, the new seal that came with the kit did not fit, so I had to use the original.

I was struggling with this, too. Here's what worked for me (from the Thetford site): With the lid & toilet seat in the upright position, hold on to the lower hinges with both hands and push toward the back wall. They should slide right off with a moderate amount of force.
Learn how to hold a camera, learn proper lighting, don't video the mundane actions such as waiting on you to find a screwdriver, unbolt or unscrew a bolt. very simple.
You know what you’re doing on the tank but one of the worst videos I’ve seen from a quality point. Take the tank out of the RV to good light and have someone else hold the camera please.

I haven't had to take the seat off. Thank God! New seal fit mine. But they are rubber so the old one should work just fine.

Did you reuse your closet flange gasket? Did you notice that the new flange gasket was different from the new one? I need to find the original one.
Only comment, take the toilet out in the sun and put it on a tripod or something so we can see. Otherwise, great instruction!
